great bike , my last one , very happy , weight is down low so its well balanced , dont need to go fast , just enjoying the air rushing past , freedom , i do my best thinking when riding . cheers from australia
your not kidding on price being on point. I just bought a 2004 VTX 1300c with 14k miles for $2k even!
Got a vtx c 2007. Bought it new, cobra pipes, small windshield. Nasty loud, runs great, 23k, red color, runs all day at 90, tops out about 120. Got it I was 57, now 71. Still riding my vtx, and still lovin it.
How much
@@gtyla not for sale, probably my last bike. Still lovin it.
@@jeffreykweller8825 hah meant how much did you pay for it
@@gtyla 10 grand new, with the cobra pipes in 07.
@@jeffreykweller8825 my bad I brushed over when u said bought it new
I liked the view from the second motorcycle! it's nice to see the riding position. This channel just keeps improving.
Own an 07 1300r7 and I must say it's the best bike I've owned or ever ridden.my last bike was a Harley fat boy and I thought that beast took the cake but no more, don't get me wrong the fat boy is awesome but this vtx1300 has stayed completely out of the shop, EXTREMELY minimal upkeep and looks great.so happy with this purchase and will never get rid of her.just a great bike all around and you cannot beat the price of these.very happy vtx owner here.
Can it cruise at 85mph at lower rpm or is it starting to rev already? Im wanting to cruise the interstate without reving so high but i keep hearing they need another gear amd i cant afford an 1800, thanks in advance!
I learned how to ride on this bike. Never rode a day in my life. I passed the MSF class with flying colors. The Honda VTX is an awesome bike, especially for us tall folks (I’m 5’10) and it’s very comfortable for me.
these are great bikes. I've had an '06 for years, but finally selling it now. Very smooth on the highway.
I just bought a 08 VTX 1300 with V/H pipes. Love it!! Awesome power and looks!! Loving every bit of it!
Can it cruise at 85mph at lower rpm or is it starting to rev already? Im wanting to cruise the interstate without reving so high but i keep hearing they need another gear amd i cant afford an 1800, thanks in advance!
LOL @ 7:50! Love that you have a second perspective on the bike. That turned out really great!
you probably dont care but if you're stoned like me atm you can stream all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my gf for the last days =)
@Jamison Ryland definitely, I have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :D
@Jamison Ryland Yup, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for since november myself =)
@Jamison Ryland Yea, I have been watching on instaflixxer for months myself :)
I'm 5'8" 240lbs got a vtx last year it's great I feel comfortable and safe with the weight. My first bike in ten years. Its a great bike.
Can it cruise at 85mph at lower rpm or is it starting to rev already? Im wanting to cruise the interstate without reving so high but i keep hearing they need another gear amd i cant afford an 1800, thanks in advance!
I bought a 2003 vtx 1300 s with 15k on the clock. It had some issues that I fixed. Now it runs like the Honda it is. It came with every imaginable extra you can think of.
It's a nimble bike for its size and weight. I will keep this bike until I stop riding in a few years.
You Blew the test ride ! You did a " Boulevard" , cruise. I wanted to hear and see speedo / Tach numbers on the freeway !
I'm looking for my second bike and there was one of these at one of the local dealerships. I loved your review and I like the sound of this bike. It looks like it's the size and comfort I'm looking for too. Thank you for helping me with my decision.
Bought it partially based on your review. Can't wait for the weather to warm up now!
Bought Ruby today, just like yours, same color, saddlebags but no windshield. That’s a badass bike
A 2007 Honda VTX 1300R Is my first bike, but I'm 6"3 300lbs. It fits great
Hey, watch it with the "old guy" stuff (kidding). I'm a 53 year old newbie. Love my retro 750 Aero. But can't wait to upgrade to that VTX 1300!
It's winter where I live currently so I can't ride my bike. So, I'm riding vicariously through these videos. Ugh, I miss that sound. By the way, the 1300 C is my first bike, but I am almost 6'5".
I own a 2006 1300c fire candy orange love the bike rides so smooth it’s enough power for me I’ll never own a Harley Honda more reliable
Sold My RK (2nd one). Bought this one. 200 l/bs lighter and does all I need. Got older and some health issues, so I just couldn't back a RK anymore. I love the bars down low, ya sit deep in it, has Vanes/Hines pipes, sounds awsome, and as you said... low maintenence. Harley, timing tensionor every 30K. 1000.00, and belts and just money all around for anything Harley. I still love my HDs, but, I have to be realistic about hings as well.. TY for the Vid.
Another awesome video my friend!!👍👍👍❤️
Would that be good for a short fella at 5 ft 5?
That's why I have a Vulcan 2000 bruh. I got both, Vtx1300 and VN2K
This bike sounds awesome, what exhaust is that? Its not too loud but has a very deep and powerful sound.
Loved mine. Anything happens to my Heritage softail I'll have another of these.
I'm 5'7", 140 and the 1300 VTX is perfect. Handles like a dream and isn't heavy. From an 1100 Shadow to the 1300 VTX is about the same. It doesn't feel heavier at all. Plenty of power for me and my wife to rides for weeks.
I've got the Shadow Sabre 1100. So you prefer the 1300 VTX?
@@LarryRickenbacker since the other guy never answered your question: the 1300 is virtually indistinguishable from the 1100, but with a little more top end where you need it on the interstate.
@@KickstandOptional indistinguishable, really? I have shadow 1100 and looking to upgrade and looking for more power and the vtx has significantly more hp and torque, and I plan to put cobra pipes on and rejet carb accordingly so I think it will be a big jump in power. Am I missing something here?
@@scottg429 the question, and therefore the answer, are clearly intended for beginner riders who would be comparing stock to stock.
@@KickstandOptional ok but still I’m reading it’s much more powerful stock
I'm 5.5 and that beast was my first bike. I'll never sell it.
im thinking about getting this as my first bike. My uncle put 8k miles on it but doesnt ride it anymore and is selling it to me for around 2.5k. Im 5'10 220. you think this is ok for a first bike?
@@Superbad655 you should be okay, just don’t go crazy with the throttle and take you time getting used to it, I’ve had about 12 different bikes and the vtx 1300c is one of my all time favorites
Can it cruise at 85mph at lower rpm or is it starting to rev already? Im wanting to cruise the interstate without reving so high but i keep hearing they need another gear amd i cant afford an 1800, thanks in advance!
@@cbosmooth
I took it so many times from Cairo to Sinai which is an 8 hours ride between 60 to 100 mph and had no issues with RPM reving.
Those machines can last for a very long time as long as you keep the maintenance tight. Absolutely monstrous bikes!
thanks this gives me confidence since i'm 5.8 haha! i want this bike!
Big fan love the video’s it helps me a lot
I've had & have many bikes and of all ever owned the 1300c is my favorite, I've had 3 and still own one, and yes I have the other V-Twin and none of them compare to the VTX, as far as power, Cobra headers, carb mod & jetted, good air filter & air box modded a bit, it runs plenty good. Not exactly slow for sure. VTX is my choice of all around the best and perfect cruiser there has ever been made. Can't beat a Honda.
Great bike...I'm a OG on a '97 Cbr1100xx.
I have an 04 and an 05. Great bikes!
I'm fixing to buy a 09 with 5700 mile on it. Guy was asking $5500, I got it for $4800.00 And it has few nice add on's too. Mustang Seat, V&H , windshield. And handle bars . Think the PO said he had to reach some with the original bars.....Its in EC. One owner, Well maintained... deep red color... Paint and chrome all are in EC. KBB had it at $5510.00 retail $4800.00 Not bad I thought.....You?
Just bought an 06 VTX1300 as my first bike. Im 5’6 150 lbs and i do just fine.
I rode this bike and im 13 around my neighborhood my first time riding a motorcycle perfect for beginners
I swear I think the cobra slash cut exhaust sounds so much better than their others like these pipes.
I'm roughly 6'1"and 240 lbs, and I picked this for my first bike, and I love it. Granted, I picked it up for $500 so I couldn't really pass it up lol
Just viewed one yesterday. Love everything about it. Despite its size, it's wayyy lighter than my current Fat Boy, which I'll be selling. Hope I'm fast enough to get it. This could be my last bike. For keeps.
I've got 08 vtx 1300c and love it. It was my first bike. I read once the vtx has a better reliability then the Gold Wing. I'm 6'1 250 comfy. Great review.
Marvin Hartman Thanks, I'm 6'2" 280 and was trying to decide if this would be a good first bike choice. I'll definitely check them out.
I'm 6'6" and 350lbs, and a lot of my height is in the ole legs. I'm looking at a '07 VTX 1300C as my first bike. This video makes me want it even more, and I'm also considering getting a straight bar to ride more upright. What do you think?
really a nice view of the bike while riding.
hello men thansk a lot for the video big up im 6.2 foot with a lonng knees you thinkg i'll fit on this honda 1300 ? i got a big probleme with my knees i'm a basket baller so witch one bigger Honda vtx 1300 / yamaha Vstar 952 cc / kawasaki vulcan 900 costume
thanks a lot for helping me bro
I'm really torn between the 1300 and the 1800. I'm 6'03" 190, so the size (and HP/ torque) of the 1800 is a no-brainer. But the 1300 sounds a LOT better to my ears. The simplicity of the carb vs. FI also appeals to me. These first-world decisions can really wear a guy out...........
What did you decide on?
I bought a Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. Beautiful bike, with a 1300 V4. As I was loading the bike on a buddies trailer, a neighbor approached asking if we wanted another bike, which turned out to be a VTX1800. My friend bought it for a pre-Covid price, put new tires on it and rode it all summer. The VTX’s fuel injection means he had immediate riding joy, where my Yamahas four carbs caused a lot more work. One carb, no problem. Four synchronized carbs, another story.
Thank you!!! for te vídeo!!! very realistic!!!
I own the retro and it is chromed top to bottom white walls I wish u could see it well that pic of red bike is it now more chrome then ever
Best Bike I’ve ever owned. Best engines, water cooled, carbureted, strong as an OX. Out classes and performs most road bikes.
Why are you no longer doing test rides? Bought a bike from you a couple years ago and the video was a big selling point. I’m in the market for the next toy 😁
Vstar 1300 or vtx 1300? Is the fuel injection on the vstar a huge advantage in performance?
In your opinion which is better the midnight star or the honda
Is there an option to change the headlight to LED not just the bulb? I have a 2015 VTX 1300 XVC
I'm 6'5 and about 240~ .. I sat on a boulevard, a bolt and I think a scout bobber?? They all felt uncomfortable except for the indian which is out of my price range. Would this be a good starter bike for me?? I was looking at the vstar 650 but I've been told its too small for me
I'd like to put a few reflectors some where on my bike, show me where to place them
I'm thinking about finding a good condition used 1300 as my next bike. Got rid of my sportster 1200. Are they comfy and balanced well? And any issues I need to look out for?
"you gotta be a big guy for this to be your first bike"
Just bought a 04 vtx1300 for my fire bike
I'm 5'8" and 210lbs lol
Only negative on this bike is, it's easy to drag the floor boards. Careful how much lean you get. Other than that, great bike!
So gotta ask, its been a few years since I rode last, I use to have a 87 Honda Shadow 1100, what style handlebars are you using on this bike? Are they Chumps or what?
How much would a paint gob cost on à feller and tank
I had one . very reliable. Run great. But i upgraded to a road king. I wish i would have kept it for a second bike.
Your rims need polished diamond alloy polish it'll make those alloys look chrome
I wanted the Sabre. But look at the KLX250?
I’m a 5”9 180 lbs and my 2005 vtx 1300 suits me fine 😆
im fat
Can it cruise at 85mph at lower rpm or is it starting to rev already? Im wanting to cruise the interstate without reving so high but i keep hearing they need another gear amd i cant afford an 1800, thanks in advance!
I was a Honda man, I must have owned a dozen over the years i started with a Honda 350 but my favorite bike ended up being a 750 Yamaha virago.
I have a 1982 750 for my daily rider. Most guys look at me weird when they realize I'm a 26 year old on a nearly 40 year old bike. I'm slowly putting my own custom parts on it over the years.
Can't go wrong with a VTX1300. I bought my 1300S new in '05. If you work the clutch you can easily do rolling burn outs or pull the tire a foot off the road. Been riding her most every nice day and several not so nice days for 12 years and only put oil, plugs, brake pads and tires on her.
great video i pass license with honda rabel 250 and than I bought vtx 1800 and I don't play with switch bikes and waste money
whats your opinion vtx 1300 vs vstar 1300
The plug fouling on these might be caused by old fuel, but it can also happen if the "choke" is used too liberally. It basically dumps fuel into the float bowls and causes carbon foulding FAST. Really the only drawback of the VTX1300.
And who uses the choke for anything other than warming the bike up? Why would anyone want to use it for anything else?
@@scottg429 yes, that's literally what it's used for. Believe it or not, some people live in places where the "choke" (in quotes because it's actually an enrichment circuit here, not a true choke) is a thing they need to use regularly. You answered your own question, but thanks.
Recently test-drove a 2004 VTX 1300 and noticed the handle bars were up into my arm pits! Otherwise I liked it. My '07 Shadow Sabre 1100 was more comfortable and offered better fuel economy.
You can always change the handlebars.
I have 2007 vtx 1300 r one of the best damn bikes on the market
I've got one love it !
I have an 05 VTX 1300 R, got used with 42k+ Vance&Hynes windshield missing, some scuffs from a previous owner laying out down, needs a tuneup, but overall, I'm happy
Just curious, what did you get it for? Trying to decide on one now
@@Zx14rRider67 I got lucky, I think. I picked it up for $1500
Thomas Larkowski Awesome, thanks for the reply!
You might want to put engine guards on this because if you ever go down you are not going to lift it off your leg to get out from underneath to get free. Trust me, I have been there. And, rejet the carb a little bigger as these come lean from the factory to meet federal emission standards.
I'll take this 1300 over the 1800 any day. This bike sounds so much better than the 1800 engine in my opinion. Those 1800 VTX's have those dual crankpin crankshafts, the 1300 has a single crankpin crankshaft. Single crankpin engines just sound more pleasing to the ear to me.
I agree, the 1800 might be a beast for power, but the 1300 has that classic single pin sound, which we all like..
The VTX 1300 is curbureted and consumes roughly the same fuel as the much larger VTX 1800. I enjoy my Shadow Sabre 1100.
Well, if sound is all you care about, then sure, the 1300 may be the better option for you. Its not like the 1800 sounds awful though....just doesn't have that classic single pin "potato, potato, potato" sound most V-twins are famous for. Of course, what it does have is a boat load more power and torque, a smooth, trouble free EFI system and tremendously better brakes by comparison. Personally, I wouldn't let a little thing like an exhaust note make my decision for me....which is probably why I bought the 1800 instead. To each their own, of course.
You this comment actually helps me choose which one I want. Also I prefer caburator bikes over fuel injection bikes
I agree, just bought a Black 05 1300c, im in love!!
Would you recommend this as a first bike. I'm 6 foot tall, 180 pounds. I've ridden before but years ago. Looking to get back to it.
Keyonne Burrell yes, they're good bikes. Quite easy to handle too.
Keyonne Burrell yes it's a good bike returning riders. Don't worry about the weight of the bike. On the highway, it's very stable
Yup, great cruiser very stable....best bike I've owned for bombing around/look
Honda Shadows are very reliable bike the motors are bulletproof long live the shadow
I am in the search for a bike i have been non riding for around 15 years am have it narrowed down to either a vtx 1300 or a Vulcan mean streak 1500, what would you recommend Im 5' 11" 215# and will be taking my wife occasionally, did a lot of research but am not sure between them Thanks
Well
Its been 2 years, but %100 vtx 1300. More aftermarket support and you dont need alot to keep it going
Ecellent!
The vtx line up is a beautiful looking bike. The one thing that didn't do it for me on the 1300 was being carbureted. I hated the cold starts and having to choke it and wait. Now with my 1800 I just go
i know why did they do that
Mr. Céspedes agreed! I have an 07 Suzuki Boulevard c50 yes it's a small 805cc engine but love the reliability of the fuel injection. Nothing like it on a bike. Cheers Brian
Hey I"m considering the c50. Wondering if you thought i'd fit and have enough power. I"m 5'10 and weigh 230lbs . How tall are you? size?
the reason for warm up it to increase internal engine metal temperature. Warmer metal expands to proper size microscopicly. Run a cold engine hard it will beat itself up internally and wear out sooner, cold oil also takes longer to get to every nook and cranny or friction surface.
Ill take the carb, the 1800 doesn't sound as good as the 13 with the single pin crank.
Forgot your gloves? Did you forget how to do a U-turn as well? 😇
buena calidad de vídeo en la mitad. el sonido espectacular y la carretera!!!
My vtx retro chromed top yo bottom I really mean it too white walls front fork all beefed up including light bar custum turn signals front back single seat with chrome rack crash bar beefy custum pegs chrome foot boards back fork chromed front fork chromed cobra street longs the big chrome fender covers bike all candy red and I have caliper covers coming chrome and alloy rims been cleaned to look chrome I used diamond metal polish baught at auto zone and I use mother's polish to keep up the shine rims are amazingly shiny mirror
this bike is still not on the website i'm waiting to see how much you guys are selling it for.
+OptimusBananas still waiting for the title but it's going to be around 4300
Is that bike big enough for a 6’7 dude with 350 pounds
Can it cruise at 85mph at lower rpm or is it starting to rev already? Im wanting to cruise the interstate without reving so high but i keep hearing they need another gear amd i cant afford an 1800, thanks in advance!
Get the 1800 if you want cruise at a low RPM. the 1300 will do it but it like at a third of the RPM range but will it'll do 75 at low rpms with no problems.
I used alloy cleaner diamond metal cleaner from autozone and my rims look so much not like yours anymore if u still own bike use that stuff your rims you be able to clean teeth in lol don't use chrome polish it's not for that rim this is alloy such nice metal
First bike was a mini bike back In early 70's. I was like 8 years old. Fast forward, next bike after the NAVY...
ZL1100 Kawasaki. Rode it like I thought I knew. Quadruple many times forward. VTX 1800. THIS GUY is selling it. He's a Cop. He LOOKS at me and he says, I don't wanna pull you over. Well, up to this date, he still eating my dust.
Is there a much of difference in power between 1100 and 1300?
Yes, I just got a 1300c VTX and love it. I also have a VT1100 Shadow and it seems with the VTX I'm always speeding with it. Plenty of power for me and my wife. I never had a lack of power with the 1100 and I hate to sell it (I may not!) But I wanted the extra seating room for me and my wife on the VTX and it did make a difference for that. The 1100 got a little cramped on long trips, but it was a great bike for the past 20 years (65,000 miles) and still runs like new. She doesn't want me to sell it, but I'm sure I won't ride it much now that I got the VTX, so I may as well let someone else enjoy it (Or just ride it to work I guess)
I think you can be a smaller guy and still be able to handle the 1300. I'm 5 4 and 128 lbs I can ride all day on it with no issues
yes absolutely
you!like youre chanel

THE ONLY ISSUE I'VE HAD WITH MINE, SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ONE, WOULD BE THAT ONE WIRE THAT THE SEAT RUBS THROUGH AND KILLS THE BIKE. TRAILERED IT HOME, REPAIRED THE WIRE BETTER (PREVIOUS OWNER HAD ONLY TAPED) AND BEEN RIDING EVER SINCE, PFFT, OIL CHANGE, WHO CARES.
no matter what cruiser u own they all really just go up too 120 except vtx 130 and I do beleive 150
Randy Hoffman 130, thé vtx1800 do 150

Buddy, friend you didn't give us a bible verse. I think it's cool when you.
Im 5'8 250, and an 05 VTX 1300 is my first bike. Great first bike
What’s a good fair price to see on one of these?
let me know if you ever get a response , hopefully not from the bible lol jk seriously though did you figure out a fair price?
Dude ride thec1800 instead of the 1300
Where is the 0 to 60 for the 1300?
5 seconds ... less if you slam it.
👍🏻
I’m 5’7” 190 is this ok as a starter bike for me?
So you have no experience at all? This is my 2nd bike and I've only been riding since June of 18. I'm 5'4'' and 128 so size shouldn't be an issue...it's more about confidence
Get rid of the mirrors. There are many better that let you see more and look better!
"Oil change...who cares?" My favorite of many Sean quotes to date. Peace be with you brother.
