Thank you again. I'm always surprised you carry your rod tip forward - I broke one carrying it like that in about 1974, and have always carried them tip back since then.
Good afternoon George. One of your usual Sunday subscribers that comment, however, I have now left my old job so no longer work Sundays so im happy at home watching your video. Ben
alright fella. another peaceful video from yourself. there is definitely something relaxing about your videos. maybe it's the places you fish. Family, work and hobbies are difficult to juggle. just keep plodding on pal. ❤
Always good to see your vids Ben and your editing and content has come on in leaps n bounds . You still need to get to grips with a flyline tho... No doubt one of your viewers would be delighted to give you a lesson or two on a nice stillwater somewhere 😊 As we all know. Fishing is tremendous therapy for stress, anxiety deppression etc ... But we have to know when to give time to the ones we love when they need us too. My wife was off work with a 5 month stress , anxiety HRT. Breakdown. That was my 2 week Shetland fly fishing trip out the window. But she needed me and we all have chouces to make sometimes very tricky ones. Be kind to yoyrself Ben and take care. Looking forward to the winter vids . Best wishes Cal
Dave from Australia here mate . Have seen a few of ya clips now , and love em . I only fish lures here in Australia . And get good results . 🤙 Tight lines ol mate. 🎣
Be careful with burnout my dear, as a flight sim developer, i will say don't turn a hobby into a business unless your happy, xx using flight sims right now honestly makes me feel sick sometimes, loving the vides george.❤
Nowthen Bonnie lad. Hope you and the family are well and what a cracking video. Some lovely spotties and what a lovely place ,…. Take no notice of the anti- happy people and if you’ve got permission and you have a licence then what’s it got to do with him ,,,,, FECK OFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Brilliant video George beautiful trout you had. I had Isaac up fishing with me at the start of September on the Findhorn. I'm pencilled in for the same week next year if you fancied trying to catch a salmon on the fly.
Nice video mate, sadly we have to deal with a few...odd encounters haha! Hope you're training for our race and fish off! Gotta get this organised haha!
Thanks mate! Haha yes we do, I've not had many Karen encounters in my time. And don't you worry, I'm training with the jamaican sprint team... not taking any chances
If you're ever on Florida's Gulf Coast, you'll never want to leave! Normally use a 5500 reel with 40 lb braid and 30 lb leader with a medium heavy rod. Jacks and Redfish galore!
Hey George👋🏼 Hope you had a good trout season mate. Just a little bit of constructive criticism...this is not meant to nit pick but help you going forward. Even though you are catching fishing downstream, you will get far better results fishing upstream. Been trout fishing here in Wales for the best part of 35years now and caught 1000's of brownies. If your using a no1 I would go up a size to a no2 size Mepps. I like the black bladed Black fury with yellow spots. Seems to land the bigger fish. Also u are missing some good opportunities in the shallow fast flowing water...you'd be very surprised what you can land out of those shallow fast flowing sections. I don't mean to tell you how to fish but I really do think you will get much more success fishing upstream. Fish obviously face up river, if your fishing downstream the bigger more clued up spooky fish will spot you first & then it's game over. Anyway, enjoying the videos but please remember that your health really is your wealth and that your family always come first. Just keep plodding along. Slow and steady wins the race pal. Until next season George 🎣
Interesting! Just trying to figure how that works going with the flow of the water. Surely the flow of the river stops the spinner working, or the trout will bite the front of the spinner?
@@ClassicSam. It spins, as long as you move the lure fast then the water it will have action. The trut aint hunting in that sense or get passive in the cold water so you can fish fast for them almost all year round. :)
@ClassicSam. nope. The spinner is controlled with the speed of the retrieve. The fish will spot the spinner and turn/swipe at it aggressively. Some will follow right to your feet at sometimes take right before u pull the spinner out of the water. Some people fish downstream Because they "feel" the spinner working against the flow. The correct way to spin is to cast upstream or up and across, arcing your way through a pool. Let's say you approach a lovely fishy looking pool like George did at the start of this video. The correct and best way to fish it is to approach it slowly and quietly from behind. You always fish the back end of the pool first not the head of the pool first. Reasoan being if you hook a fish first at the head of the pool it will spook Amy fish in the middle and tail of the pool. You should cast from a distance ro the rear of the pool. Let's say u hook and land a nice trout at the rear, you still have the middle and head of the pool that will very likely still produce another fish or two. It's so important to learn rivercraft. As you fish over the years you naturally learn where the fish are laying. You know where to cast to give yourself the best chance out of any stretch your fishing. My father taught me the basics of spinning for trout over 35yrs ago and I have learned the rest myself instinctively catching many thousands of trout on the way. Some people think that because they've caught fishing downstream that it's the best way, it's just not. U will catch the smaller more inexperienced trout fishing down. If u want to catch those elusive bigger fish you will do better going upstream or up and across casting under the roots of opposite banks, big rocks, reeds, casting into up & across into slack water then retrieving the spinner into and through fast runs. Sorry for the long reply but this post may help a beginner who is just starting out! Tight lines! 🎣
@MarcusSpjut you can't fish for brown trout all year round in the UK. Our trout season is from the end of March/early April until late September/early October. You can only fish for brown trout during off season in still water lakes and that's mainly on fly only. There are only very few lakes that allow worm for kids on the smaller ponds/lakes.
@@taff6987 I know, I was a bit sloppy in my reply. My basic point was that you can fish the spinner fast enough even if the water is cold even when fishing upstream. :)
Another great video. Do you know why the water was so stained in the first creek you fished? It reminds me of some of the creeks in Michigan, which have tea-colored water. Please come to Pennsylvania for a week or two sometime and I can hook you up with many a great trout creek.
Thanks mate! We had just had a lot of rain the day before so that's probably why. A USA road trip is definitely my dream, hopefully i'll be able to in a couple of years so stay in touch!
Have you tried the river Derwent in Workington,Cumbria because I’ve fished there but have a go fishing there and you might catch some thing like sea trout or brown trout and you might see a salmon because it’s on the west coast
'Why' cracked me up what absolute 'tards most of the general public these days..always got to poke their noses in everyone else's business because they lead sad little shallow lives..you should have put in fully on camera and carried on the convo as long as possible fella..they deserve it! The spinning rod is great fun, but if I was fishing this creek I’d give serious consideration to my 7.5 ft 4wt fly rod and maybe a nymph suspended under a floaty dry fly! 🤔 I imagine the overhead branches would cause me some grief!😖😂
...Great video. Appears these days that 'Karens' & 'Crybabies' annoy people more often, sad human beings. However, a Trout or two erases them from memory...
You don't neccesarily need weekly uploads, perhaps focus on longer videos, or even a catch and cook video. It will give you more peace and time and us more minutes to watch.
I’ve been fishing quite a few times over the last year n I haven’t caught a single thing. I’m ovsly very bad at fishing and all I have done so far is get snagged n lose all my gear😂😂. I’m usually fishing for trout and I really want to keep fishing but i get burnt out really easy cos I can’t catch anything it’s kinda sad lol. I’m about to order the x5 adventure so I was just wondering if you have any tips on catching n getting bites

"What do you mean why?" 😂
