    The FLASHPOINT BLAZ 300 R2 MONOLIGHT ( Godox MS300 )is a 300-watt second manual monolight, designed to be compact non-TTL AC studio members of the R2 Family of wireless radio controlled flashes. The small units deliver GN 190ft / 58m, accepting standard Bowens S-Type reflectors and modifiers. The pro 150w quartz modeling light makes lighting setups easy to achieve precise results. The incredible amount of power and control in these compact and lightweight flashes, make this design the first choice of all photographers with an eye for flexible multiple lights set up in a studio or home environment for everything from portraiture toproduct photography without the fear of blowing circuits. The BLAZ 300 R2 Monolight has a max recycle times of 1.8 seconds at full power, and an eye-popping 0.1 seconds at 1/32nd/5.0 output, with reliability that only AC can guarantee.
    R2 Wireless is the world famous 2.4GHz Radio system that binds the Flashpoint XPLOR600's ( Godox AD600 ), Streaklights ( Godox AD360II ), Zooms ( Godox V860II ) , eVOLV200's ( Godox AD200 ), Rapid's and Mini's, in total harmony. The incorporated R2 radio links to transmitter signals up to over a 100m/328ft range with 32 channels and up to 16 individual groups. Of course, youcan simply fire with a cable directly connected to the standard PC port.
    This impressive BLAZ 300 Monolight professional specs' don't end with power and speed. Exacting digital details, with a full menu ofPower, Channel, Group, and Model Lamp status is boldly displayed on the rear graphical LCD panel. The onboard Manual controls are ina Tenth (0.1) of a stop increments and, depending on the R2 remote transmitter linked to the flash, at Tenth's, or 1/3 stop. Throughout the wide 50 step range, color and flash duration is spot on, with less than a 2% variation. AC power means there is no limit on modeling lamp use, with an adjustable 5-100% bright 150w quartz lamp. Both flashtube and modeling lamp is user replaceable.

    Awesome. I always like having some small lights. Over the years I've had some gigs where I show up to events (costume and such) and do photobooth style portraits. Not having to bring big and heavy lights is a must.

    For the 'ratchety yoke' you can take it apart and sand down the bumps, it still works but much less ratchety.
    I did this with my Bowens adapters for speedlites and AD200 and they're much easier to use once they're sanded down.
    Glad it allows for the older R1 radio system because I've found the older 433MHz system to be rock solid, not so much with the R2 2.4GHz system.
    Having 1/10th-stop power increments is inconvenient if you can't disable it (or at least switch to 1/3rd-stops) to move quickly to a new power setting.

      mavfan1 Are you joking? 🤣 Whatever YOU think of Godox lights, a huge range of professional photographers have opted for them for studio and location both, professionals who actually shoot for a living and make a full time income off of their photography. Previously this type of lighting equipment was practically curbed by Profoto and Elinchrom etc. Not anymore. YOU can continue paying a premium for lights with every feature imaginable, but 98% of even working professionals don't need the slight perks of investing in Profoto. Way more things to spend money on like backgrounds (painted and even printed canvas are EXPENSIVE) and set pieces and gel kits and educational content and even lenses (for people who shoot a lot on location).
      With what Canon is doing, even camera bodies are entering a new phase of technology. I'd rather wait for the 150MP coming-2021 EOS R version than spend $2,500 on one Profoto strobe that requires a $400 trigger and $200-600 modifiers. And the more of us who invest in Godox, the higher quality their future budget strobe releases will become. The Flashpoint 600 Pro and upcoming 1200 Pro are huge advances and almost on-par with Profoto now that they have Color Mode. The only thing Profoto continues to truly win at is flash duration and Freeze Mode. But 99.9% of the time, nobody needs a Freeze Mode. Enjoy your massively diminishing returns. Even warranty is no huge perk to Profoto when you buy Godox through Adorama.

      @jacksonjackson9474 3 роки тому

      @@longliveclassicmusic Amen, friend. Profoto not only acknowledges Godox, they also fear them, as evident by all the lawsuits. If somebody thumbs their nose at the quality of Godox, then they literally don't have a clue about photography, and the value of good gear. Especially since Godox already put Bowens out of business with better strobes at cheaper prices. I was finished with Profoto when they announced those $500 triggers, that weren't at all special. Trust me, Profoto is quivering in their boots.

There are two versions the 100v and the 240v versions. i have the 240v and it recycles a bit quicker than yours. I'm pretty impressed by it. I fired 50 full power pops in rapid succession and had no overheating problems.

  • @longliveclassicmusic

    I love my 600 Pro and want the Flashpoint 1200 Pro super bad… That being said, in piecing together a studio, I need more quantity of lights, lights that also have modeling lamps. Period. AD 200 I have only has a modeling lamp with the fresnel head. I could get 5 of these for the cost of one QT-line professional Godox strobe. But the fact this can be adjusted in tenths of a stop both on the trigger and the back of the unit is huge for me. Would it be nice to have another strobe like the 600 Pro that has a color stability mode? Absolutely. Would it be nice to have a faster flash duration like with the 600? Totally.
    But I mostly need numerous and similar strobes that can be adjusted super quickly and easily like with the knob that have solid modeling lamps, as I'm ready to ditch my speedlites completely. Investing in strobes like this would allow me to focus on more variety modifiers and gel kits and even more light stands with boom arms (I have one C stand so far to go with my only-vertical stands). Even stuff like fog in a can, a $109 pro-mist 1/4 filter, a scrim, Lastolite triflector, even a second pair of V Flat World v flats to go with my other two, canvas backgrounds, more seamless paper colors… The list is endless when building a studio. What I need most is more lights, and 300 Ws is NOT super limiting in the studio! It's honestly perfect since it's also smaller and lighter weight to boom or not worry about losing a ton of money is it falls and gets broken.
    I personally also like the idea of having a variety of both battery strobes and AC strobes… That way I'm less concerned with running out of battery and having no lights but also have the flexibility of not having so many cables everywhere and being able to light on the go. Think this light is perfect for me to get a few of! 🤩

    The flaw of these strobes is that high-speed flash sync goes up to 1/200. In specs they say it's 1/250 but that is a lie. Besides that it is a good buy for the money.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    2 years back I started off with zero photography knowledge and still love learning about photography
    I have a small business online which sells various small products
    I bought an all in 1 photo light box with 2 led strips going across the top.
    But I absolutely hate it. Apart from the limitation of the size of the box, the LEDs above even with a diffuser are simply not bright enough and or too bright when using reflective surfaces as the subject
    My plan is to get rid of the box.
    Install 2 smaller table top LEDs on the sides with diffusers and have one of this pointing up towards some white reflector sheet
    Any advice would be super helpful and thanks In advance
    Does this sound like a better idea?

    What I really do not get is, why on earth didn't they integrate a usable umbrella hole/holder. The one that is implemented does not have a screw to secure it. It is just a hole with an internal kind of bracket. This might work for small umbrellas. But it does not with a huge umbrella, especially when the umbrella is pointed down from a boom.
    Same mistake Godox made with the S2 bracket. While the S1 has a screw, the newer S2 (which I bought for my ad200) doesn't. Fail...

      Elinchrom is assembled in India with Swiss design. Most of their flash heads are now plastic made just like this Godox. Elinchrom power capacitors are made in India. Nearly all of their electronic components are sourced from China. Except the flash tubes, which are mainly from France. Their power capacitors are just as likely to pop or go faulty like any other brand capacitors. Especially when these capacitors are under stress, cranking up the power levels to maximum (most photographers do that) creates massive stress on any capacitor, it doesn't matter where capacitors are made. The old style Classic Elinchrom flash heads, with the metal casing, like the El-500, El- 250, and the Prolinca range were more robust and longer lasting than any other models.

      As Robert said in the video, also in the manual, this is NOT à HSS flash. It's normal you can't go over your synchro speed.

      @@totiglobule thanks for your reply. I do understand that this is not HSS, however I would expect the flash to fire - and for me to see a black band (curtain showing up) in the photos. I was simply curious (technically) if it is ok that the shutter does not trigger the light at all (although the photo is, of course, taken).

      @@bogdangheorghiu1978 I do understand what you're trying, with a black part. I didn't try with this flash (to me it's not intresting because it rely on "chance" only), but remember it's a cheap one, I'd not be surprise it doesn't fire ... I know it's working with ad-series (200, 400..), V1 etc, but have to try with the MS300. Next time I use it.

      Yes...it’s a flash. No, it’s not intended to be a strobing light source. In fact, it’s short flash duration will make its flashes only partially visible in a frame of video. You should look for an LED with a strobe effect.

    • @jimmyhill9591
      @jimmyhill9591 4 роки тому +4

      Led modeling lights are really only usable in lower light, and even then they are underpowered compared to incandescent. The 60w Godox SL-60 LED constant light is only slightly brighter than the 150w incandescent bulb in these units and with electronics/cooling the the complete LED light is as large as a typical monolight. A usable LED modeling light in a monolight is possible, but it would need to be pretty damned big.

      @@vegaryfoss179 hss for taking high shutter speed photos with artificial lighting, There are so many reasons why. You want HSS for stopping fast motion like a dancer or even a bunch of kids running around, capturing things like water droplets, etc. Typically strobes can be used in a maximum shutter speed of 1/200 of a second which is pretty limiting.

    Hi Robert. I am new to flash/strobe lighting. Can you trigger a Godox strobe like this one with the pocket Wizard triggers? Does that make any sense? I have PocketWizard system already for my Nikon flash. Thanks.

    • @robhallphoto
      @robhallphoto  4 роки тому

      You can, but it seriously reduces the efficiency of the system, as you won't have remote power control. I guess if you're forced to merge the two systems its an option, but by far the biggest perk of Godox X series is using 1 trigger to remotely control it all. So if you were looking to outfit a studio with these while keeping your Nikon stuff for location work, then I would still opt to buy one godox X series transmitter (X1T-N, X2T-N, X-Pro N)
