If you’re talking about the blinker bulb, I believe there is a phillips screw right underneath the blinker housing (in the gap between the blinker housing and the top of the bumper) that must come out first. Then, you’ll pull the housing straight out toward the front, then pull out the harness along with the bulb. Then reinstall. Be mindful of the plastic guide pin though when installed again, and make sure it lines up with the headlight housing hole on the side.
Well I got it to work. My 2500 has dual batteries so no easy change on either side. It would be helpful to show which way the ring goes back on. When I took mine out everything flew apart and I could not tell which way it went back on. This job really needs 3 very small hands with very long arms. Next time I am replacing with an LED and hopefully never have to change them again.
If your replacement elements have a red seal - throw out the new red seal, re-use the original white seals. The red ones are too big, you'll never fit 'em. Dat crose enough! Fastah! Replace him! Where you get yuan for tape measure! You paid too much!

The bulb on the 1997 Dodge Ram contains both the high and low beam filament.

Couldn't get the driver's side for over an hr. Finally just removed the red ring and it slid right in. Couldn't get it in any other way.

The driver side is such a pain to reinstall the Retainer clip, because 2 hands are required. The passenger side was no problem Lol
