Health Care Heroes 2023 - Nancy Kelley

Nancy Kelley, RN with Wichita Surgical Specialists was honored as a 2023 Health Care Heroes Nurses award from the Wichita Business Journal.
“My name is Nancy Kelly. I'm an RN at Wichita Surgical Specialists. I've had many mentors through my career as a nurse. Each physician that I have worked with individually has helped me and inspired me in so many different ways. They've taught me things that I didn't know and were always there to help me along.
Each day I draw my inspiration from meeting new patients and helping them become the healthiest they can become and seeing the rewards of that.
For new nurses my greatest hope for them is to challenge themselves and to remember why you joined and became a nurse and that is to be a patient advocate.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband, going on vacation together, enjoy time out on our back deck with our four dogs. We are Shockers fans and we are really looking forward to the upcoming Shockers basketball season.
