In a world full of Doctors who go to medical school and are satisfied with science from the 60’s, it makes me grateful for Doctors who continue their education and seek real answers to these next generation diseases.

The problem here in Michigan, we have a shortage of Rheumatologists. They basically are the doctors that treat Sjogrens. I've been trying to get help for 8 years. I have lost almost all of my teeth on top of all of the other Health related problems.
It's so difficult when most people, including doctor's google Sjogrens and say, oh yeah, it's dry eye and mouth.
I wish it was just those two issues 😭

Oh wow I didn't know that it was so hard here in Michigan and here I have been moaning and groaning because I can't get in there until August but it was scheduled in March.... I'm going to count my blessings

If you don't mind me asking because I also reside in Michigan.... What City (or close by City) do you live in? I was referred to the R.A. Specialist back in March but they cannot fit me in until August. I am hoping that the Doctor knows and understands the testing needed for Sjogrens

      I live in Clarkston.
My rheumatologist is located in Rochester Hills.
I've attempted to see a Rheumatologist in Genesee county, and another in Commerce.
I made it to Commerce. When I found the office,
I walked in to a waiting room full of older people looking like they had been there a long time.
I had all of the forms filled out, and the receptionist looked through the paperwork and said "the doctor doesn't write pain meds".
      I said that's great,
I didn't ask for pain meds. Then she asked where my test results were.
I said what test results? She sorted through the stack of paperwork I had and found something about test results.
I'm not sure what they wanted, but I was still seeing my rheumatologist.
I told her, I haven't met this doctor yet.
What if I don't like her?
It's our choice selecting a doctor, and I would never see a doctor for an initial visit and bring 8 years of test results or records..
When I told her I didn't bring "test" results, she said well then she won't see you.
I had spent hours getting ready and driving there and was asked if I wanted to make another appointment. Ha Ha.. not a chance in hell.
When I called to make an appointment with the doctor in Genesee, they said I would need to bring a referral. I asked from who?
She said from your doctor. I see several doctor's, but
I explained I have been diagnosed and have been with a doctor for years.
I said my insurance doesn't require a referral.
She said well, this doctor does.
I said well I guess I have my answer. I'm not asking my doctor to refer me to another doctor.
I respect everyone's time and never walk in late to an appointment as difficult as it is sometimes just getting there, but I have been looking for a new doctor' for a while, and this is the general attitude.
They act like they're doing you a favor. I just don't get it. I apologize for the rant.
I just wish they could treat us with a little compassion. I think we all deserve that. ❤️

@@angeladenzer7781 I think the reason for the appointment being so far off is when the doctor sees a new patient, they block off more time. I've been there. I wish you the best of luck.

That Australian pathologist, working in Bristol was curious about the helicobactor pylori found in ulcer material. He was warned that if he published his results he would never work again. To which he told the surgical heavy mob that he was not bothered by their threats as he could simply return to Aus. Sadly so many people in all walks of life are not willing to take in new vital information and react accordingly. In the case of the surgeons, they could not accept that their procedures were no longer valid.

I have had H.pylori twice, probably because it didn't go away from the first treatment. My blood work has shown that I have definitely had Epstein-Barr before also. So with a past history with both those and years and years of severe mental and emotional trauma created Complex PTSD which beat the h*** out of my mental and physical health keeping my body in a constant state of hyper-vigilance. My ex husband literally made it his mission to destroy me..... I may have a lot of severe health struggles but I'm here able to share my story and also I've done a lot of therapy so my absolute favorite reason to be near him is to make absolute SURE that I show him that although his actions may have triggered this .... I am a very strong woman, I am not destroyed!!!

The problem doesn’t begin with which medication’s you give to people although medication that can cause cancer doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. The problem is the thousands upon thousands of people who cannot get a diagnosis but have a vast array of symptoms. I have had eye 37 infections in 4 years. I have an enlarged thyroid and an enlarged submandibular glands. I have had numerous skin issues and all kinds of other things along with joint pain and so now I’ve told my doctor don’t even test me for anything else. My blood works is not bad enough! There’s not enough research being done on prevention and cure to turn things around before you get so much connective tissue damage and organ damage that finally your blood work matches how you feel. What a system we have here in the US.

I am not trying to be dramatic when I say I am my wits end with insanity(SgD)..I try to explain what I deal with and get the same vanilla cardboard response... "That's it..you have super.. I mean really really bad dryness of the mouth and eyes"... Out comes my guttural groan heard in other solar systems!!! I used to love food but now its just not worth it(I don't know how to explain) but when your teeth are breaking and cracking daily it sucks. I lost all but 2 teeth on top and all but 6 on bottom in less than a year. By the time I got my first upper partial at early 40ish yes old it was pointless because several more had exited my head. So to wrap up this pity party I went from okay pretty and maintaining to crack head skinny, jacked teeth, dry eyes to the zillionth degree(OCD level eye dropping mania) like I need to buy stock, bone and joint pain that makes you wanna call Dr Kervokian, constant ridicule because of major brain fog, dry lip( north and south), no immunity.. and everyday more just keeps getting discovered and added to the list...SORRY TO ALL ! Have a great day and thanks for the vent session!

I woke up one morning in 2020 with severely burned eyes. Felt like acid was thrown in. The start of my hell. Both eyes had ulcers in. 2021, same story, woke up and it was there. Then 2022 December it returned for a third time. This time I waited to go to the doctor due to work. By February 2023 it was so bad the specialist had to scrape both eyes. The epithelial cells were almost gone and he had to scrape both eyes. I'm still, 6 months on healing. Visited a Cornea Specialist now who suspects Sjorgens.
What is of interest is the connection with H. Pylori. I had a Peptic Ulcer in 2008 which led to a Y-Roux section of my stomach. Reoccurring stomach ulcers from them, countless hospital stays and reflux problems. Then in 2020 it suddenly stopped and a few months later, this occurred in my eyes. So, for me it makes a lot of sense.

Quite a lot of people might be better off not having fortified cereals- they might need methylfolate instead and not folic acid, especially if they have an Mthfr gene mutation. Some people may not be able to tolerate grains if they have a nickel allergy - so taking fortified grains out of the diet might help some of those people. I could be wrong because there can be a lot of old cobblers news and information going everywhere.

Helicobacter pylori is a bacteria known for causing stomach and small intestine infections which can result in ulcers. As discussed in this video, it can result in silent or indolent infections which trigger the immune system to turn on the host.

@@gatesbrainhealth2639 Some say that it could cause leaky gut possibly and some blame leaky gut for all auto immune conditions and sometimes they even include Alzheimers, Parkinsons, MS, Psychotic states or conditions . even schizophrenia if the BBB /Blood brain barrier may be compromised as well. They are mostly Functional Medical Practitioners/ Chiropractors/ some Medical Doctors. Somebody wrote that H. Pylori is a prevalent contributor to leaky gut. Other gut flora overgrowth may sometimes cause leaky gut or food intolerance, maybe some meds or anything that might kind of strain gut wall integrity. Some do not always believe it though. They say that a slightly leaky gut wall lining allows some wrong things to go through that would not normally go into the bloodstream like some bacteria / candida/ whole proteins. So I think that THAT might be the possible causal link between H.Pylori and Sjogrens etc .Thank you for your presentation, I had lost a lot of hope in Medicine today generally. I am sorry that I don't write very well.

@@gatesbrainhealth2639 Some are advocating a treatment diet for leaky gut healing and a detox diet as a treatment for all autoimmune conditions . Some link a bacteria Klebsiella in the gut to Ankylosing Sponditits but because there are no antibiotics to kill Klebsiella they use a low starch or no starch diet. I am not a doctor but just love research in medicine. But am a bit poorly- I just have to share while I can. I do not know whether these things are always true.
