Man, I can't WAIT for an official Steam Controller 2! Just all the Steam Deck controls on a controller! The upcoming Horipad is close having extra buttons and gyro, but I NEED both gyro AND track pads to be happy! I play a lot of FPS with gyro and a lot of RTS using BOTH track pads. The OG Steam Controller works great for both of those, but as you pointed out it falls short on racing games and flight simulators. The Deck itself has perfect controls, and I can't wait for a Steam Controller 2!
Thanks for the recommendations! I hadn't even considered the SN30. I didn't know they had an upgraded version with Hall Effect sticks. Looks like it's a good balance between portability, features, and price. I was surprised that it had gyro built in!
Stadia. I still have my controller. lol. Love that 8Bitdo joint. I use it in my Tesla for quick gaming. The DualSense is my go to controller for all my PCs and PS5. Dope vid bruh.
@BarelyAverageDude small stuff. Nothing crazy. Sky force, Hades, Dave the diver. Stuff like that to pass the time. I tried a few AAA games and the experience isn't quite there for a full playthrough, but to jump in a game a beat a level or something it definitely does the trick.
Just bought 2 for $160au in mint condition. Recently bought oled SD and I absolutely love the trackpads! I thought the trackpads where a gimmick back when steam controller got released. Can't wait to try a steam controller.
Xbox controller is great, but I lacks some features that I love like gyro and back buttons. But if you just need a standard controller you can’t go wrong with the Xbox controller 👍🏽
Two controllers I enjoy not featured here: Stadia Controller 8bitdo Ultimate C GameSir Nova looks like a xbox version of the Stadia controller so that is probably nice too
Latency is not really noticeable on any of them, but if you want the lowest possible latency, I’d suggest the Gulikit King Kong 3 max with the USB dongle.
Personally, I think I will get the PS5 controller for my steam deck because I play games better when the joysticks are in that position. This feels weird to say.
@@BarelyAverageDude They didn't listen to the criticism and so much contributed to the downfall. Maybe google will compete again with sony and make a counsel?
@@Wolfnrun oh trust me I remember all the questionable decisions and lack of shift to meet the wants of the people. Stadia was amazing Tech, but I don't think it was made by gamers 🤷🏽♂️
@@BarelyAverageDudeYaaa. It bothers me cuz I'm mostly into Googles ecosystem (Somewhat apple and Microsoft) So when I heard about stadia naturally I was excited. But if it was made by gamers who know what they were doing like steam did with the steam deck. Everything would have shifted considerably. *Shrugs*
@@elasmojones this is for you if you ever want to connect it to an external display. Many people connect it to their TV at home and then play handheld when on the go. Think of it like a Nintendo Switch.

Steam Deck's controller are good, but they too can be improved.
Loved Stadia nice to see someone giving it some respect. Really got to pull my Stadia controller out to use with my Steam Deck
Stadia was taken from us too soon 🫡

Thanks bro these are great
I can go with any of them
Amazing video my guy! Keep it ☝! Oh and of course, Stadia, I'm the same with cloud gaming!

The King Kong controller can be paired in Switch mode, which exposes the built-in gyro
You don’t need to be in Switch mode to use the Gyro. You can turn it on in any mode. 👍🏽
Thanks for sharing it with us. Useful video.

my steam controllers dont work with the steam deck oled. Tried the firmware update and everything and it connects but is buggy :(
