- Watch Byomkesh Bakshi's second episode 'Rastey Ka Kanta'. Byomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective in Bengali literature created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. He is one of the most successful and popular characters in Bengali literature.
Doordarshan now brings to you the entire series of this literary classic which was televised back in 1993 directed by the brilliant Basu Chatterjee. Actor Rajit Kapur played the role of Byomkesh Bakshi, for which he was highly praised. Ajit was played by K.K. Raina and Satyaboti was played by Sukanya Kulkarni who was the first actress to play the character. - Розваги

और मैं डर के मारे उस टाइम देख ही नहीं पाता था
पूरा घर देखता था मुझसे छोटे बहन भाई भी देखते थे पर मैं रजाई में मुॅह छुपाके केवल सुनता था ना जाने क्यों मुझे इसके म्यूजिक से ही डर लगता था
पर अच्छी बात ये है कि मैं अब सारे एपिसोड देख रहा वो भी बिना डरे

I showed it to one person of my IT team , The whole IT team was busy next few days till they saw all episodes. They are very young team.

These unknown actors (apart from byomkesh and ajit) act so well....daily soap actors of today's times are nothing in front of them
+Ajinkya Mujumdar : A lot of them are/were popular regional actors, though unknown to Hindi audience. Chandu Parkhi (Prafull Rai) for instance, was a well known Marathi film and theatre actor.

This is one of the many examples of intellectual contents produced in India, unfortunately at that time very few people had access to TV. Now when most of people can afford TV, contents are brain rotting. In fact contents of today's Indian television has given a reason to call TV 'Idiot Box'

I'm a 20 year old from Kashmir and I like Bengali culture( potrayed in this series) and how Bengalis are gifted with acting, directing and writing skills. Of course, this serial was always close to my heart as a kid. Now, I'm going through all the episodes once again.

If u r bengali then u would not directly say it as the "best story" of indian sherlock holmes...bcz other than byomkesh, there are hundred times much better characters like feluda, professor shanku, kakababu, misir ali, and tenida etc. And so sad that non-bengalis cant know them without watching the movies/ serial episodes which may sometimes destroy the authenticity of the books story

I am always amazed to see how such a great quality detective serial could be made from such a poor production values. Bengali producers/directors like Basu-dada and Satyajeet Ray (not linked to Byomkesh Bakshi) are the finest professionals on small screen or big screen. Just look at Thank you Bengal!!
