- Watch Byomkesh Bakshi's sixth episode 'Quicksand'. Byomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective in Bengali literature created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. He is one of the most successful and popular characters in Bengali literature.
Doordarshan now brings to you the entire series of this literary classic which was televised back in 1993 directed by the brilliant Basu Chatterjee. Actor Rajit Kapur played the role of Byomkesh Bakshi, for which he was highly praised. Ajit was played by K.K. Raina and Satyaboti was played by Sukanya Kulkarni who was the first actress to play the character. - Розваги

I watched this episode when I was in 5/6th class. But due to frequent power cut, i coudn't completed it. After a long time ...... Now I completed this episode. Almost took 20 years. Thankuu Doordarshan 😁😁😁😁😁

Hats off to such a show... Back then in 1993 the makers would not have foreseen that there would be an internet revolution and a repeatable future as we see today. They made shows and made it in a way they could afford. Critique is good but criticising and pointing out the bad is the only thing we do today.

in those golden days in 90,s there is only doordarshan channels ,but100 times better and interested compare to todays 50 channels. remind us that best time we spend to watch our favoerite serials never come that days again we watch these serils of doordarshan with our brothers and sisters.

One thing that we all tend to ignore which is a vital part of / crucial element in the show is the haunting background music 🎶 which adds "char chaand" to the show ..
yeah, that tiktok tiktoc basic sound....beautifully edited. when that music comes on, they are going to show dead body or reveal the mystery or something scary, like that circus guy walking on the wooden poles with scary mask. back when i was 10 something, i used to see that and get scared.

My memories are fresh. लगता है इन धारावाहिकों को आज देखने वाले अधिकतर लोग उस समय 'बच्चे' थे जब ये धारावाहिक दूरदर्शन पर दिखाये गये थे । मैं उस समय (१९८६-१९९०) २६-३० वर्ष का युवक था −नव-विवाहित। मेरी यादें कुछ अधिक ही ताज़ी हैं।

The story, the direction & the acting are all brilliant. The director, late Basu Chatterjee, was very loyal to Saradinu Bandopadhay, the author, & followed the storyline meticulously.

This shows reminds me of my childhood and memories. Those days were the best of life. Less television and so much social life. Now life is all about virtual life, real life is almost non existant. Sad to see those days have long gone.

20 Minutes more screen time would have done much more justice to the story since originality is the premier characteristics of these serials. Anyway, just got hooked on these and probably gonna binge!!
Byomkesh withholding the info that he knows there is quicksand when Divanji suggests to go through it makes sense. But Ajit keeping quiet is absurd. Also, since they know there is no hard evidence against Devanji, they use the sound based shooting ploy; which if proved intentional on Byomkesh's part, is itself a crime.
Also, if Divan did not entangle himself with the investigation, he was fine.He tried to over-engineer.
