- With Pedals And Effects, expect the unexpected! Today we're not necessarily checking out an effect, but a very useful tool that can be a catalyst in really exploring sonic possibilities. Today it's the Red Panda Mixer! The Red Panda Mixer made our "Best Pedals of 2016" list, and is easily one of the most handy and utilitarian pieces of equipment to come through Pedals And Effects.

What I like about this channels is that maybe I don't like the pedal they're showing, but it helps me get cool ideas for my setup.
Another use would be to split the signal early in your chain (stereo pedal or something) and process the two lines separately (like one distorted and dry and the other wet and reverby) and recombine at the end before it hits your amp. Single amp dry/wet setup.
best video ever!
If I wanted to have my guitar and my synth going thru the same pedals but going to different amps I’d need a different mixer right?
You figure it out?
I have a similar setup. Yes you need something at the end that can split it so it can be plugged to another input. In my case, since all my pedals are stereo with 2 ins and outs, I feed my guitar on the Left(mono) and my synths on the (Right) via the mixer.
I can just use the other output and feed it directly to another amp or go direct. My audio interface/mixer also has two inputs so that gives me the option of doing everything in the computer.
Assuming all your pedals are mono, then I'm guessing you have the mixer at the beginning of the chain. Then you need another mixer at the end before amp 2. I don't see why that wouldn't work.
There is also the behringer micromix mx400. I think it works similar, but with 12v, what do you guys think about it?
Yeah, I'm wondering the difference. I've been using the Behringer for years and it works very well. It's also 1/6 of the price of the Red Panda and has a fourth input.
Exactly, at least it works for me, would be the panda really an upgrade?
could you mix a couple different fuzz setups this way within one board? make things stack better that might not get along normally by grouping different pedals into a "set" to run through the input and adjusting their levels to blend them better?
I wish these popped up used more often
Their hats match their guitars.

AMEN!
run combos of pedals into the mixer channel to boost/blend the sig
Hahaha this is great! :D Very helpful too - I'm looking at this mixer for my bass pedalboard. Hat tip for the P&C pedal by the way - I've met the guy who makes them a few times, he's a great dude!
I have another use for a mixer that you didn’t mention... I’ll save that for myself tho.
I would listen to an album of this if you guys did a collaborative recording
plz!!!
Dude… the sickness levels would be off the charts…
Why this instead of a Boss LS-2? Same function or is it different?
Can this be used as a reamp box?
Huh. Wonder how good the components are.
If you could send 1 input to 3 outputs this would be an insta-buy for me. Not completely sold on 3 inputs to 1output...
Only one guy in the band needs to buy a pedalboard! Or better yet, combine everyone's pedal boards and everyone gets to play all the pedals simultaneously
Sounds great.
what's up with the skinny cow ice creams ? are you guys gonna cook up some lunch in a bit?
that jam was pretty goofy btw
you guys rule
*randy's revenge ring mod
crazy bass tone!!
nick's playing's so sick
pladask matrise.
can somebody PLEASE tell me what bass that is
Whitest guy ever.
The other use for this is to split your signal into three outs for three amps, at different levels for different sounds for each n such
I don't think that would work with this mixer though. The three inputs can't switch to outputs.
Chris Dixon it doesn't matter whether there is a physical switch, the signal goes both ways no matter what. That's just how jacks work.
annabelleshaus if it's an active mixer (which I'm guessing it is as it requires power), the signal isn't going to be flowing the other way though. Try plugging a pedal in backwards and turning it on. Same thing. If it's passive then this might work, but it'll also introduce hella ground loops.
LongFallBoots That was my understanding. If passive, maybe, but this mixer is active.
