The man speaking in the beginning of the video about war and his friends dying is Jerry Cantrell's (the guitarist and who wrote the song) father who was in Vietnam. Obviously, Cantrell wrote this for his father.
RIP Layne and Mike. You guys are missed.
Rooster was the alias of the Jerry's father during the vietnam war, beautiful and the same time sad this song, a master piece.
The guitar player Jerry Cantrell wrote this song about his dad in the Vietnam War!
Cantrells dad had ptsd from Vietnam. Just haunted.. so this is Cantrell trying to understand his dad who was nicknamed Rooster since he was a young boy.
Layne had a beautiful voice.
Rooster was the call name or nickname of the guy's dad who was talking at the beginning during the war.
Their MTV unplugged is literally ear candy. The instruments and harmonies are damn near perfect.
Nirvana makes great songs Alice in chains make real songs
A better genre to define Alice in Chains would be sludge metal or even Doom Metal.
Since you checked out SRV ,it's time for Joe Bonamassa. He took over the blues scene when SRV died. Check out the videos of him doing " Woke up this morning " and " Angel of Mercy."" He has 15 or 16 albums and is still playing concerts. I think he is in his late forties. He opened for BB King when he was 12 years old. 😅
It's about how every part of the Vietnam war tried to kill him but you can't snuff the Rooster. Maybe look at lyrics instead of videos
