Part 2 of our trip to Oxford
Are the canals lined with equal parts mud and debris ? It never ceases to amaze me how much material you guys remove from the waterways ! I think the Canal Trust should pay you by the hour, by the ton and a per diem !
That "Chopper", is a bill hook, i used one to chop the kindling for our fires in 1960/70, it was my job to keep the fire going to heat the water. The bill hook has morphed from its original use as a weapon tocutting lathes for wattle and daub for house walls, also used later for coppicing hazel for stathes and fencing. Various types had a point at the bent hook end. Sometimes called a Kentish hook.
thanks for the info!
Is there any room for boats to go down that river at all? as it seems that if you go to all the trouble to gather your junk, why not take to the junkyard? as opposed to just lobbing it into the nearest waterway. Have younot pulled out all the bits for your D.I.Y. bike kit yet?
Check your crud ( lumps of stuff ) ! You never know what could be in it !!!
i see you lot still keep finding unusual things that for sure but must keep the brain working trying to figure out what it is ,good going terry👍
Those trowely things you found look to me like pointing trowels for brickwork
16:58 believe that was a tool used to scrape ashes out of a steam engine boiler, or possibly in a central steam heating system. If the latter it must have been huge. Loved the gutter pot. That would make a very cool planter or yard ornament. Based on all the apparent cobblers lasts and the huge industrial gutter pot, it would be worth while to research if there was a shoe factory there in the past.
thanks for the update!
Beat me to it.
Good job cleaning out the pipes and ect. The fish and I thank you two soon very munch.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😅😊
I finally have time to binge watch everything I've missed. Starting with this one. I missed it so much.
Lasts off antique cobblers anvil? or clog makers anvil?
Looks like you should have a grappling huck to help with bringing up bikes
I THINK THAT THE ONE THING THAT AARON FOUND IS A RAT TAIL HANDLE FROM A PAN OR SKILLET!!! CHEERS MATES 🍻!!!
Your chopper is actually a billhook used in forestry to cut wood
Is there someone in the water that put the things on magnet
Otherwise that place is loaded
Could those trowelly things be bayonets?
Cool finds guys saw a few DING DING s too

Hello everyone
Long thinner spade is for digging ditches 👍🏻
thanks for the info!
I can remember wearing roller skates similar to the one found and a push lawn mower. Those were the days my friend. Hey, sounds like a song. 🤣🤣 Good one Nigel and Aaron👍
Nigel: Well, of course you found a pair of feet - they’re both left side. Meaning you have two left feet!
I had a pair of roller skates like the ones you pulled out. Because they required a shoe with a sole I wore my saddle shoes when I skated. Yes I'm old.😊
❤
❤😊
Thanks guys
Our pleasure!
Great video. I would have used the gutter thing as a flower pot
