I would think that the pith would be an off-white with a bit of low lighting of a light tan and perhaps a bit of high lighting in a white. Or maybe the off-white mixed with white. But I am in no way a painter or artist in even the loosest definition! LOL I don't think your painting turned out really well in the end. And you definitely should be proud of it. It's very pretty.
@ Thank you! I’m wondering if I was finding it difficult to get the colour right because it maybe should have mainly been the raw sienna colour that I’d used for the under painting! I will have another try one day. ☺️
@thelittlemouseshouse I was constantly getting told off by art teachers for being out of perspective or drawing an extra finger on a hand. No help or encouragement on how to improve my skills
@ I’m sorry to hear that. It’s all about enjoyment, and all art is different! I sometimes deliberately move things out of perspective when I’m doing watercolour and ink drawings. ☺️
Hello, I left a few hours between painting the whole canvas and then doing the under painting of the orange. I then left an hour or so before starting to paint with the oil paint, but I think I should have left it a bit longer… I was just so eager to start painting!
Lovely painting.
@@brianahawkins8124 Thank you! ☺️
I'd do pith in a creamy yellow. And yes, painting without bright daylight can be quite difficult. All that said, it's a lovely painting.
@ Thank you! I’ll have to have another try at painting an orange, I think!

@@graceh8866 Thank you. You’re very kind. ☺️
That looks amazing I wouldn't have a clue how to do the colour of an orange and it's inside either. I am one who was terrible at art at school
@@deniseatkins9407 Hehe, thank you! I really couldn’t work out the colour of the pith at all!

How long do you let the ground tone dry
