@thelittlemouseshouse Well, back that many years ago (haha) people used a bedspread, so it depended on how bulky the bedspread was. In summer, my mother left the bedspread on, in winter, she removed it and placed it folded in a closet.
Great start, you may be able to remove the hallway section if you warm the wood with a hair dryer or heat gun so the glue softens. Queen City Minis has used that technique to take apart wooden miniatures.
I'm liking the new plan. A clothes storage idea might be to put some drawers under the bed. While you were pulling out the tabs in the ceiling of the 2nd floor, I though the ceiling was going to come out, giving access (wanted or not) to the attic. (The bathroom & closet could have been tucked up there.... to bad it doesn't hing open.) Sometimes, you can run a blade at the edge where 2 objects/surfaces meet when painted over to remove one without the paint holding as much (or ripping away). Also a heat gun (or hair dryer) can soften paint &/or glue for easier removal of 'whatever' (it might work on that old landing) I'm no expert, so hopefully some of that was helpful. I hope everyone enjoyed their meal. It sounded yummy.
@@sandyb4693 The ceiling between the top floor and the loft was interesting because it still felt quite strong but it definitely wasn’t held in place quite as tightly! Now that I’ve got a more open space for the apartment, I think I’ll use the attic space for miniature boxes and maybe a pigeon or two. ☺️ Thank you for taking the time to make suggestions!
Ahhh the old too many ideas and only one house dilemma lol. But I am enjoying that you are sharing the process with us and how you are making your choices. I can't wait to see what comes next! Where the raised bit is in the old floor still, I would just make a false floor over top of it, you could build up with old cardboard all around on the existing floor to make it level for the new false floor. It might mean the floor/ceiling between the flat and the gallery will be kinda thick looking but we can call it noise cancelling insulation so the tenant wont be disturbed by any noise from the gallery below lol
A relly nice idea to mke a modern kind of "loft" - have you considered making the stairs out of open blocks so that they can be used as shelving as well. I have seen those in the tiny homes that people make in America or those tiny Japanese homes.
@@anubisblueNK Ooo, thank you for your suggestion. It’s not something that I’d considered but I will keep it in mind when I’m making the stairs. Thank you!
I know it may be a bit late now, but (since the ceiling seemed to be wanting to come out any way) have you considered removing it? There would then be lots more head-room on the mezzanine as well as access to those 2 cute attic windows
@@Ms.JuliaW. Thank you for your suggestion! I had considered it, but, now that I have more of an open space for the apartment, I think I might leave it and put some miniature boxes and pigeons up there! (They’ll have to be small enough items to get into the loft space via the windows!)

@@thelittlemouseshouse Have you seen how some miniaturists will do a wall toward the back of the room with a doorway leading into a bathroom? You only really see the area that is framed in the doorway, so that the rest of the bathroom is implied. I don’t know if I did a good job of explaining that, but it looks really convincing and lovely when it’s done well. And that way you get the look Of a bathroom without using up so much actual square footage. Lol or square inchage 😂

It's nice to see you working on a new dollhouse. You could put a Murphy bed on the back wall in the living space and still have a small sofa.😊❤
@@vickinoeske1154 Thank you! That’s a super idea which I might try if I can’t fit the bedroom on the mezzanine!
@thelittlemouseshouse My parents had one when I was about the ages 3-5. It was the coolest thing.
@ They are pretty cool! Does the duvet stay on the bed when it’s folded up?!

@vickinoeske1154 It seems like that should be the other way around. Bedspread on in winter and off in summer. ??
I love the idea of using those boards at each place setting!!!
