Serbian history begins much earlier, but the Nemanjic dynasty is the most famous, because they left behind monasteries, churches and castles.

Monasteries from the Nemanjić period radiate spirituality.
There is a magnificient wiew from the Maglić fortress.
Steve and Ivana are nice, cultured, relaxed. Everything you have presented Is very interesting.

Very few UA-camrs are so informed and educative as you are. If you still stay in Serbia I advise you to visit Milesevo (it is monastery with most beautiful church painting in medieval Serbia so called Beli Andjeo-White Angel), Viminacium and Sarkamen (Roman settlements in East Serbia- in Viminatium you can have a lunch in restaurant which serves dishes made according to recipes created by ancient Romans), waterfalls at Stara Planina as well as Deliblatska Pescara which is in east Vojvodina and is the only European desert. Most of Delibaltska pescara was transformed to fertile land in 19th century, however, some sand dunes still exist today. You can also visit Pirot, its kilim museum as well as last kilim manufacture there.

Serbian monasteries are mainly places where Serbian kings and emperors of the Middle Ages, as well as Serbian kings of the new century and the modern era, rest.

The Studenica Monastery is a 12th-century Serbian Orthodox monastery and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Monasteries were built mostly in hard-to-reach places (on mountains or deep in forests) in order to allow the solitude and peace of the monastic community and in order to protect themselves as much as possible from the attacks of the enemy who usually attacked the cities first and churches in them. Maglič is a 13th-century castle / fortress located atop a hill around the Ibar river. The fortress consist of seven towers and one dungeon tower connected with walls, it has one gate placed in the north, and one small sally port in one of the towers in the southeast part. Inside the fortress are remains of a palace, barracks, and a church of Saint George. There is also a large reservoir for water and a well. In the southern part of the fortress, three towers are placed next to each other. It is currently in the process of restoration and conservation, which can be seen from the scaffolding on the fortress.

Stefan Nemanja is not a founder of medieval Serbian state, he is kind of a liberator. He liberated Serbia from the Eastern Roman Empire and he is first in line of the Nemanjic dynasty who ruled Serbian lands for 200 years, reaching its peek 1346. when Serbian Empire was established. Also, Stefan Nemanjic is not first Serbian king, he is the first king from the Nemanjic dynasty. First Serbian king was Mihailo I Vojisavljevic, the king of Dioclea (one of the multiple medieval Serbian states). Serbia existed prior Stefan Nemanja.

Good video (as always), only Stefan Nemanja did not found Serbia and Stefan Nemanjic is not the first Serbian king. Stefan Nemanja was born in 1113. Serbia was founded in 629 (5 centuries earlier). The first Serbian king was Mihailo Voisavljevic. The Nemanjic are the most important and the most famous Serbian dynasty, but Serbia existed before them.

There is much more to Studenitza monastery than you experienced and showed in two minutes. You could have waited for a group of tourists to form, join and listen to a guide. Lots of history, beautiful and important art there. There is also a treausury there.
I would have tipped the boy on the Ibar, he's a volunteer, but probably from a poor peasant family in a surrounding village.

unfortunately we were not allowed to film in a lot of the areas at the monastery. So we had limited option on what to show in the video. And the boy was a volunteer from abroad. Lots of international volunteers there. They don’t accept tip, but they do ask for donation.

Stefan Nemanja was not the first king of Serbia. He was the first king of Nemanić dynasty. Before Stefan Nemanja Serbia has had exactly 35 kings from for different dynasties. Although there is no doubt that Nemanić dynasty is the most famous one.

Serbs could have 35 rulers, but not the kings. First king of Serbia was Stefan the First-Crowned and he received his crown from the Pope in 1217. That’s why he took the name First-Crowned. Another ruler that received crown from the Pope before Stefan was Mihailo Vojislavljević in 1077. and according to some sources he was mostly called archont of Serbs by Byzantines.

I suggest you go to kafana Nišlijska mehana in Niš, they have very good food also. Best uštipci in Serbia in my opinion. I suggest you order, "Uštipci", "albanska salata" and "moravska salata". And a beer of your choice. That is my favorite combination in Nišlijska mehana. I also suggest you to get a reservation it is usually full.
Love your videos by the way.
If you like Niš, you should also visit Bubanj monument in Niš, and Mediana (Roman monument) Niš is a birth place of Roman emperor Constantin the great.
Also Nišville jazz festival starts tonight, it is held in Niš fortress for the next four days... If in Niš you should definitely come.
