- Опубліковано 2 сер 2024
- We have a new favorite fortress in Serbia! Yes, Golubac Fortress by the Danube Iron Gate, across from Romania was the best fortress we have seen recently. We loved it!
We also visited Lepenski Vir, one of the oldest civilization in Europe, from 9000 years ago!
This trip is also easy to do as a day trip from Belgrade. Check it out.

You couldn't come back in Romania and you discovered a beautiful country, Serbia.
You are lucky.
Salut from Romania
Hey neighbor, can you put the windturbine on the side please, it’s not so picturesque
Not so beautiful anymore... Have you seen what these mobsters have done to Zlatibor, for instance?! Let alone Belgrade. Greets from Novi Sad, brothers.
Nice
@@oaka5639 Now they installed them in Serbia too, and they're planning even more
Serbia is just beautiful!Everywhere you guys went is just awesome!
Very nice vidéo 👌 Absuolutely Beautiful Srbija 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
Golubac is my husband's favorite castle! He saw it in 1991.
My wife is from Belgrade and for the first time travelling around Serbia there was a lot of things we had planned to go and see. Without a doubt Golubac was one of the biggest highlights of travelling around the country, after an epic day looking around the incredible fortress we had some cevapi at the Perast restaurant. The weather, the scenery, everything about that day was perfect. Great to see you guys enjoying it so much!
Love love love Golubac. I took my (american born) kids there 2 years ago and they loved it. I lived in serbia til i was 15 and never knew about this place. Absolutely amazing
Divni ste ❤❤❤Uživajte u našoj zemlji i na Helmu.🙋♀️
Drago mi je da još uvek ima pametnih ljudi kao Vi. Skoro sam i zaboravio taj naziv za naše poluostrvo.
Egypt started on Nile river, India on Ind river, China on Yangze... and Europe civilization and White race on Danube, in nearby Lepenski vir 12.000 years ago 🙏
Don't need to exaggerate. It's about 8500 years old. Still a lot but not 12000 years.

This part of Serbia offers fortresses Ram, and Fetislam, Diana, too. Also there are Silver Lake, Blederie waterfall, etc. So much to visit
True
So beautiful 😍
"Danube is the gift that keeps on giving"!!! There are no better words to it! If only it's inhabitants wouldn't keep on polluting, using & abusing it in the name of ignorance & greed, ruining this celestial gift to humanity. Loved the research, aerial views & presentation, the whole work you two put into every single video, all while having fun!!! Keep up the great work, dear Canucks! 🇨🇦🍁🇷🇴
Prelepa Srbija ❤️
Moja Srbija 🥰🇷🇸
Visit Lepenski vir, Viminacijum, Gamzigrad, Ram...
i love visiting castles and this one looks really nice too!
Vinca civilization, which came shortly after Lepenski Vir civilization was the oldest one (that we know of) that actually knew how, and actively smelted metal.
So you were not too far off.
My husband was born under that rock the one you showed that you said people made shapes of it, its called Trascavati in Romanian, the area there in Romania is majority Serbian, my husbands family have all their cottages up there under this rock . I have been there
So colourful and majestic
Моја вољена Србија❤️
Nice intro with a yummy breakfast prepared by wifey lvana and a wonderful outro with a delicious lunch. Well, another amazing video ...interesting, informative, knowledgeable and historical. Always fun to watch, thank you so much for sharing 🥰💞
Great job!
No, my dear, it's an early bronze age.. How else they would curved and cut those houses.. I'm glad you recognised the importance of the oldest civilization in Europe from which the Serbs ascended..
Enyoj guys ♥️
Nice,i been there 2-3 Times, while you are there you should vusit manastir Tumane its very close to golubac
Exceptional work! You guys are turning from travellers to popular scientists (historians/archeologists/etc.) Something like Niel DeGrasse Tyson for Astronomy
Whoa, first time we've been compared to Neil DeGrasse Tyson!! What a compliment, thanks :)
Love the drone shots and history lesson!! Keep safe, healthy and happy.
Just a few kilometers down the river you have the village Tekija, where the boat tour starts, takes you through Iron gates of Danube and you'll see the biggest stone carved monument in Europe.
very nice video. when speaking about size of Danube keep in mind that building a dam Djerdap downstream from Golubac raised a water level pretty much, so nowdays position of the fortress was even higher when it was built
Yes, Lepenski vir is from stone age. Stone age ended between 4000 and 2000 BC.
You are seriously good in making those videos. I am Serbian ex pat, your latest on Serbia is very good. Almost 300k subscribers for a context from Balkans is like mission impossible.
You should definitely visit Manasija monastery, Resava cave, Lisine waterfall
Absolutely, I agree.
Congratulations, you visited more places in Serbia than me, and I live in Serbia almost all my life.
As a general note on the Danube-Black Sea- Balkans area bc so many mention Lepenski Vir-
This area/region of Europe has some oldest remains of cultures known as Old Europe from difderent places & epochs
From Vinča to Cucuteni to Cernavoda cultures ( somewhere around 6000 to 4000 BC)
Golubac and the whole Iron Gate gauge is beautiful. The large area of water is an artificial lake made by bridging the Danube for hydroelectric powerplant Djerdap. When on the Danube, and you want to eat fish, the best are Danubian sturgeon ( kečiga ) and perch ( smudj ). Carp and catfish are also good, but for most people it is
"an aquired taste" since they have a strong, muddy flavour.
Really enjoyed this video, great stuff guys, keep it up.
“Ram Fortress “ another Fortress on the Danube!!..BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Glad to hear you're coming back to Romania. Can't wait for your next videos.
Glad you are enjoying the summer! We got rain and cold in Ontario today.
When around, I can't see why not visiting Viminacium.
It's serious archeological place and offers guided tours on a hour , that place is big and never disappoint.
Also, pretty near is Manasija - Resava walled monastery, legacy of Despot Stefan, if you like game of thronish place, this one is must see.
I must visit this place next year, I hope they have busses or trains so i can go from Belgrade, cars are not an option for me.
You can go by bus from Belgrade pretty much everywhere in Serbia. You will have no problem.
You should definitely visit Kragujevac 🙂
Good video again. The Danube is magical
At Lepenski Vir , the Danube is shallow along the coast, but ten meters from the shore bottom sudderaly drops into rocky abbuses 30 meters deep.
That Is why the river course, which is calm near the northeast side of the settlement, suddenly enter strong eddies. Strong eddies are strung downstream in a length of 50 meters.
In prehistoric times, people were fed by from river.
Eddies, were, throwing fish into the shalows
At 9:50 a fisherman's hut
If you like places like this you should visit Manasija monastery:-)
nice place, but to get there is abit hard, w3e got lost in some villages between Golubac and Despotovac, but found the way by asking people.
I can't believe it you found Kafana "Lepenac", my favorite place whenever passing this way. How did you foundi it?!? Very few people knows about this kafana, as it not so fancy looking from the road. Bread is "Lepinja na situ", or "Lepinja on sieve", best of the best. Once on the way back to Belgrade from Romania, after dinner i bought two (they made it fresh and put in an empty babana box) to bring home... and because of smell in the car needed to stop on the open road to take a piece. 😆 Unfortunately you did not try their homemade rakija made of fig. Something incredible. Unique. They have accomodation as well. Great place. Actually, everything you visit on this area is - must see. Enjoy.
haha yes, the bread from that kafana is soooo good!!
H guys, greetings from Sydney, Australia, love everything about your every Presentation I am serbian by birth and australian by choice cheers
Fun video, you guys should come visit North Macedonia,we have very pretty sights and caves!
Great Video!👍
There is a hiking path to the top tower. You don't have to use the stairs.
Also the tunnel used to run through the fortress gate and then underneath it. But they removed that road, and built a new one with the new tunnel you where on.
Can't wait for the next travel vlog!!!
Thank you. Video is super!
Enjoy and welcome.
You have many fortresses in Serbia, Ram, Smederevo, for example(every city has something). Then in Soko Banja there are remains of a Roman post, I think, which is located on the hill,Mediana in Nis. Otherwise, they have dug only 5% of the ancient history in Serbia, so there is a lot of work there, but unfortunately Serbia doesn't have many archiologists or much money for it. 95% ancient lies underground, recently they found the third boat 300 BC in Serbia 3-4 meters underground. the southern part is full of such things, known roads via militares through Nis towards Constantinople. 17 or 18 Roman emperors were born in today's Serbia, Celts were there before them, Byzantine, Serbian history under different kings and regions to Tsar Dusan then the Ottoman Empire and so on. Serbia is full of history as it lies strategically between the east and vest.Btw Arilje is the capital of raspberries, as you know, Serbia is the biggest exporter of raspberries and the top 2 were actually in blueberry anyway Pirot are known for their chlim carpets like braend and their plated sausages. You are much better than others in the same industry but others copy their colleagues and go to the same place all the time, what's the point of that ??
Am proud of you Love and Bro
Mentioning ,,helms deep" I remembered, old name for the Balkans was ,,Helm", what you could translate as a ,,chain",thats guarding ancient evil under ground, old slavs had their sacred places all around this part of serbia that you guys travel, the folclore and culture is wery big. If you have time, visit Gornjak church, and travel by River Mlava, lots of great places.
Will you be visiting the Ram fortress as well?
Goto soko banja it's beautifully ❤
If you've loved your visit to Lepensky Wyr (Lepenski Vir), and you are interested in learning more about this part of the history of antiquity, here is a good video for you. It is translated to English. Cheers.

History lesson and good food!...class dismissed !😊
Population of Lepenski vir was probably ancestors of us all. Someone said that they were last good people because they didn't steal or kill.
You two always make me happy
what a beutiful place. Closer than that u can´t come Romania heh
I'm fairly sure that the Arecheological museum exponents are from the Vinca-Turdas culture that spanned across Romania and Serbia. This culture had a writing system that predates Cuneiform.
Actually, they are not, Vincha-Turdas culture are dated 5700-4500 years BC, Lepenski Vir location is 8000 years BC, so 3000 years predates Vincha. Although all of them are designated as prehistoric Transdanubian neolite culture, that is actually time span of 4000 years that is simply pushed in one "shell" as prehistoric... The main diference between Vincha and Lepenski vir is that Vincha already have traces of metal tools, jewlery and metalurgy, while Lepenski vir is purelly stone tool culture... But there is astonishing similarity between signs (the letters) of Vincha culture and ornaments on stone statues of Lepenski Vir, which implies there was some persistant continuity through 3000 years between them.
@@svarozjov Very interesting, thank you for the information. I will try to learn more about Lepenski Vir culture.
Hi. Name of that accommodation? Looks amazing so close to water.

Romanian side is amazing, but this castle view on Serbian side is pure astonishing❤ for great presentation of archeological site you shouw go right over the border to Drobeta Turnu Severin Bridge of Trian site and museum. They really use music inside the museum and voices of the romans! 😊
