    We have been using Mini 14's since the early 80s. Mini 30 too. Gas piston is the most reliable. Never had a problem with any of them. Good choice of weapon here.

      Maybe you can tell me about this: the mini 14 that I have shoots 5.56 as well as 223.. when I shoot, I have to reset the charging handle.. to eject the casing each time.. I’ve seen other mini 14 ls where your able to just keep pressing the trigger. Idk if the previous owner modified it. I honestly do like that I have to eject the casing before I shoot again.

      @@TerribleShooter Take it to a gunsmith, something is wrong.

      Damn that sucks. I actually like it the way it is but if it isn’t suppose to be like that, I have no choice but to take it to a gunsmith then lol

    Good looking rifle. Congratulations on your purchase. By the looks of the barrel, you have one just like mine. It will shoot 5.56 Nato and .223. I added a Mo Reaper muzzle brake
    with a different sight and a Mo Rod barrel strut. Made it look a little different. Believe it or not, it does 1.5-2 inch groups at 100yd. And that was before the muzzle brake and the strut. The only issue is the price on the mags. Super reliable and easy to use. Love mine

      I’ve been neglecting it since I got my AR but I share the same sentiments as you. I’m taking it to the range this weekend. It’s been long overdue

    Nice buy .... Love mine immensely. I have a wood stock also and prefer it, originally had a black polymer stock and I got a wood one from Midway USA. I also got the ATI Strikeforce tactical so now have three stocks to use to suit whatever mood.
    yeah ..

      I want that ATI Strikeforce tactical but I prefer the wooden furniture. I’m thinking to get a rds or a LPVO

      Haha I don’t know about getting rid of my AR (cost a good penny) but the mini 14 does stand out. Especially aesthetically

    If you paid $400 for it you got a badass deal. I've seen this rifle on gunbroker for $1000 plus. I bought this same rifle from a friend and he gave a butler creek folding stock with but I really like the wood stock. Since i got i I've sold my AR. I know I'm crazy but I really dig on this mini especially the wood stock. I've been looking at the Samson folding wood stock but they are going for $500 on gunbroker. I don't think I'll ever get one for that price. Anyway, nice rifle dude. Shoot the shit out of it!

    • @TerribleShooter
      @TerribleShooter  3 роки тому +1

      Sir, less than $400, and I’m shooting this shit out of it today. I can’t freaking wait. I’m just waiting for the range to open up this morning 😬. I was going to change the furniture on the mini myself but the more I spent time with it, I’m digging the wooden profile my damn self. Ima just leave it the way it is!

      @@TerribleShooter hey check out sunflower outdoor sports website and look at the mo rod barrel stabilizer. They also have a cool muzzle brake. You said you didn't like the front site post. Also use grease. I personally use wheel bearing grease I got cheap at an auto parts store. Then shoot the shit out of it some more.

    The mini14 is a good rifle , it's not a target rifle , nor will it stand up to long , continuous rates of sustained fire , it's designed to function and hit what your shooting at , nothing more .
    I've been shooting them for 45 years , been there , done that , I choose the mini over the ar for reliability and function , the mini doesn't crap where it eats , and is more simplistic than the ar internals , just my opinion .
    You mentioned the rear sight , go to techsight.com and order you a steel rear adjustable sight per the serial number range , I bought 5 sets , very good , and the cost is $67.00 , way better than the original .

    • @TerribleShooter
      @TerribleShooter  3 роки тому

      Noted. I am taking it to the range tomorrow. I will order those sites tomorrow afterwards. Good day. And thank you sir!

    invest in a folding stock ( a-team ) style ,also add a strut to barrel , helps with accuracy with the thin barrel,, you will get your money back all day long,,, but nobody gets rid of these anymore .

    I pretty much just bought a mini 14 to, between the Mini and the at-15 I’d choose the ar. But it’s a cool gun to collect and just shoot every once in a while.

      I was thinking the exact same thing when I first got it. But apparently it’s really well received. I’m looking forward to see what it can do

      I picked the MINI over the AR Because of THESE Factors... Mine is a NEW 583 series BTW!!!
      1. Ability to "Run Dirty" Piston Semi's are CLEANER than DI's like an AR... Less need 4 cleaning in SHTF
      2. EAT's STEEL BETTER... 1 day AMMO will B gold... If your gun will run on steel you can sell your BRASS 4 $$$ more than Vice Versa or do a better trade
      Some AR's BREAK after a Heavy Diet of steel.. Mini don't care !!!
      3. It's STEEL, not ALUMINUM and POLY!!! (SHTF)
      4. Less "Scary" and not as "Grab able " as an AR
      5. it's as accurate as many sub $1000 AR's, More Reliable, same popular caliber,
      I've had 2 jams in AT LEAST 1500 rounds thru it and they both happened on the SAME day with SAME Brand, Same Weight Projectile, and same Magazine ...
      it was my 2 - 3rd outing as well!!!
      SINCE THAT DAY.... NO PROBLEMAS!!!!

    You can do 223 & 556 from ALL MINI 14's of those markings!!!

    I just recently fell in love with this rifle. Looking for one to buy. I am selling my AR and Ruger 9mm breakdown carbine to finance my transaction.

    • @TerribleShooter
      @TerribleShooter  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah I’m diggin it myself. I was strongly considering changing the furniture but I’m really feeling the current set up with the stock. Maybe all I’ll do is upgrade the rear iron sight and add a pouch for the butt stock. I didn’t know this rifle had such a history with American culture. I’m a proud owner.

  • @georgeownz216
    @georgeownz216 3 роки тому +3

    yeah the government has been attacking the 2a since the 1930s but has gotten real bad after the late 80s. its good seeing new gun owners tho btw for defensive shotgun ammo would recommend buck shot over slugs because of over Penetration

    • @TerribleShooter
      @TerribleShooter  3 роки тому

      Tbh.. When I became a gun owner, I had no clue of the history. I didn’t know what a 2A was and why it was so relevant. Owning firearms opened my eyes to a whole new world of information. And now I appreciate owning firearms much more because of it. I also have buckshot and slugs. I just get the slugs so I can shoot at the indoor ranges here in FL.

      @@TerribleShooter gotcha yeah shotguns are super fun. have you tried shooting clay pigeons? its 10x more fun than shooting paper and its still kinda cheap. Walmart had 100rds of bird shot for 30$ and 90 clay pigeons for $7 amazon has a tosser for 50-100$ then you just need open space and probably a longer barrel to make it easier

  • @badas45

    They're pretty high in my area 700ish.... minis are sweet, get some more mags like 10 and stick to factory mags and look into an "Accustrut"its a item that improves accuracy at distance
