Hey Michael! Thanks for checking in. I like those weather vanes but they are usually really expensive in my area. Still haven't decided what I want to do with it yet. Take care Buddy.
Cool video brother. I am a sucker for wind vanes, therefore the Amish style wind vane would be my favourite. The brass nozzle is cool, but not something I would be drawn to. Glad to see that you managed to find old stuff instead of Christmas stuff at the market. This time of the year there is a glut of that sort of stuff. Take care and big hugs to all.
Hello Brother! I like them too and usually they are pretty expensive but this one was priced right, still not sure what I'll do with it yet. Chrissy saw the nozzle first but didn't say anything she thought it was plumbing related so thought I wouldn't be interested..LOl but I think it's cool hard to pass on a big old piece of brass. Take care as well and give our love to the family.
The weathervane is cool, looking forward to the restoration on that, The brass valve will look great all cleaned up. It would be cool if you could get it attached to your garden hose. All in all a great haul. The screwdrivers will look great cleaned up with the blue handles. Have a good week George.
Hey Mr. Dale, That weather vane doesn't need too much work. That would be awesome to hook it up to the garden hose. I do know a good plumber. 😁. I think the screwdrivers should clean up nicely. Take care and I'll catch up with ya later.
Hey Todd, That nozzle was just too cool not to bring home, the weather vane isn't too old but it was a great price and you know I do love a good vise and those will always find their way home with me.
Thank You! I've been wanting to pick up a weather vane for a while usually they are asking a lot for them but this one was in my price range, That nozzle was just too cool not to bring it back.
Hey Mike, I like those weather vanes and this one was priced right and I do like those screw drivers I think they are gonna clean up pretty nice. Thanks for checking out the haul. Tale care and I'll catch up with ya later.
Another good haul George! Shouldn't take too much to fix that weather vane. Another Reed, sweet. That's a antique nozzle and I think you are correct about it probably more like a commercial use item. You don't see those much. Great haul!🚒
Mike,Mike,Mike! Ya that weather vane should be a quick little project and only in this community can you bring home another Reed vise and no one thinks it's an issue! 😅. I'm curious to find out more about that nozzle, it was just too cool not to bring it home. Take care Brother and I'll catch ya on the flip side.
Thanks Kid, Reed vises are just awesome work horses and I'll always pick them up if the price is right. Thanks for checking in Brother. I'll catch up with ya later.
I hope we get to see that nozzle polished up, that'll be a great wall hanger, the vane is cool too! If we only bought what we needed, we'd all have empty sheds/shops! Have a good week👍🏻
Hey Alex, I 'm going to see if i can find some more info on that nozzle but seriously who among us wouldn't bring it home? I know I sometimes forget that need has nothing to do with what we bring home.🤣. Take care Buddy and hope you have a great week!
George my favorite is a two parter. Love the 5 screwdrivers. The blue handles with the square part under the handle for using with a wrench is great. Also that Reed vice is a BEAST! Great find.
Hey Stephen, I don't need anymore screwdrivers but that blue is super nice so of course they came home with me and I agree the Reed vise is a Beast! They are well made for sure.
Hey Jason, Those are pretty sweet and I don't need any more screwdrivers but Hell ya those were coming home with me. I really don't see a lot of Herbrand screwdrivers here. Mostly wrenches and sockets. Take it easy Man.
Hey Michael, I had to bring that vise home especially for that price, I know I can make it a great user and I really don't need anymore screwdrivers but I couldn't pass those blue handles up. Take care and hope you have a great week.
I agree. There is something cool about the nozzle. Please show it off when you clean it. I went crazy and cleaned a bunch of tools this weekend. When I wake up tomorrow I will know if my wrist is healed or crippled. 😂😂
Awesome finds! The Reed vise is my favorite, I'm a sucker for those and have a few I need to get to....hummm maybe I'll do one next month! The nozzle is very cool and will make a cool display piece once you shine it up. Like others, I can't wait to see those screwdrivers done up the Uwannawatch way!
Hey Fred G! Would love to see a vise vid! I'm gonna try and find out a little bit more about that nozzle and I'll get those screw drivers done or I might send them off who knows...Take it easy Brother!
All good finds, but I agree with you-nozzle for the win. Magdad’s Chuck would see that brass piece as a Flitz opportunity. I’d love to see you bring the nozzle back to glory.
I'm glad you jumped on the Herbrand screwdrivers. I would have done so too. A good condition set, no less. I think they are my favorite find. Herbrand was a big contract tool supplier to Ford (not the only one) back in the Model T, A and early V 8 days. Herbrand are good quality American tools. I also really like the Reed vise. A good day at the flea market.
Hey Pat, You know I have 0 need for more screwdrivers and I don't collect Herbrand but also there was no way I wasn't gonna pick up those little beauties. I also don't need any more vises to restore but that Reed was priced right and needs to be brought back into action. Take care Buddy hope you have an awesome week.
Nice snag. Those Herbrand screwdrivers are awesome, can't wait to see them cleaned up. I have never seen them i get the sockets but never drivers. Like the vise too.
Hey Brother, Ya I don't see the screw drivers too often either. I see the sockets and wrenches. I'll try and show you guys after I get them all cleaned up if I don't send them off. Take it easy I hope you have a great week.
Thanks Bonney Mack! The weather vane doesn't need too much work and right how cool is that nozzle? I'm gonna see what I find out about it. Hope you have a good week Brother.
Always like the brass stuff. Like you said, most likely out of an industrial setting, maybe a fire extinguisher station in a factory or warehouse. I come across those minor brand sockets, but not often enough to want to try making up a set. I hang onto the S-K, Snap-On, Bonney (for Resto Rob), Proto, Plvmb and underlined C's. Need to get rid of the others. Have a great week, I'm off to Florida and Texas for the holidays.
Hey Bryan, Can't pass up a big piece of Brass like that. I'm gonna look into it some more. You know me..I only collect a few brands the rest get traded, sold or donated. Enjoy your visit to the south and Hope you enjoy the holidays!
Cool finds Super George! I'd buy those Reed vises all day for $40! Those Herbrand screwdrivers are awesome. I like those blue handles. The nozzle is really cool and i hope you make a video restoring it. Good stuff!
Thanks Captain Ivan! You know that vise was coming home with me especially for that price I'm really liking the blue don't see it too often and I am curious to find out more about that nozzle it was just too cool not to bring it home You guys would never let me live it down if I didn't. LOL. Take care Brother and I'll catch up with ya later.
Awesome Haul George. American La France was originally in Elmira, NY. Also the probably was on a pumper originally. My volunteer Fire department has old nozzles just like that in our display case that used to be on our old apparatus and some of them are Elkhart brass ones. And @CCscraps & Restoration just got an American LaFrance given to him by his neighbor
American LaFrance was a manufacturer of fire engines from 1873 until 2014. Many of there trucks and equipt are still in use today. The nozzle could have been on a fire truck as it looks to be the early to mid 20th century design. Brother have a fabulous week and watch out for those drones!!! Not too many here, but its dove season so they may have been shot down🤣. Keep safe brother!
Hey Patrick, I haven't looked into the nozzle too much yet but I'm curious to find out more about it. Hope you have a great week Brother! Don't mess with Texas! 😅
Nice haul, George. I believe the LaFrance company made fire trucks and equipment. You know there are worse vises to have then collecting bench vises.🤣 Merry Christmas 😃👍🏻🇺🇲
Hey Joe, Thanks for the information, I appreciate it I'm gonna see if I can find out a little more about this one. I don't know what vise you are talking about? 🤣. Merry Christmas Brother!
You are the king of vises George! I think my favorite of the day is those herbrand screwdrivers. Nice condition and they have wrench flats! I think you ahould put some converters on that hose nozzle and use it for a garden hose 😂.
Thanks Kurt, But there is only one vise king and it's Jim. @toolrestorations. Those screwdrivers are pretty sweet! I should hook up that nozzle that would be awesome! 😂
The brass nozzle is great my dad road on the back of a American Lafrance was the first truck they had when he went on hope you have a great day good finds
Hello George, I am going to echo what others have already said by saying that the brass nozzle is great but those blue Herbrand screwdrivers are my favorite. Also, I agree that the nozzle appears to be from a stationary application which is interesting as I know American-LaFrance for their fire trucks.
Thank you for checking in, I'm gonna try to find out more about that nozzle and those screw drivers are nice, I don't see a lot of them with the cobalt blue. Take care and hope you have a great week.
Thanks Richard, I'm gonna try to find out a little bit more info about that nozzle, Those weather vanes are cool and I'm happy I could find one that wasn't priced too expensive. Take care Buddy I hope you have a great week.
Hey !George vraiment de belles trouvailles, la girouette est vraiment superbe. Les tournevis et les douilles idem. La lance à incendie, bien nettoyer et polie doit être très belle. Et un étau de plus dans la collection, nettoyer il doit être super. ❤
Hello Patrick, A lot of variety in this one and all different degrees of work needed for these. But I think the vise will be a labor love to get it back to work. Take care my friend.
@Uwannawatch yes they are hard to find Oh ya, the canadian government is forcing the postal workers back to work, so the mail should start moving a snail 🐌 pace soon
Hey Big Brother, That weather vane is pretty nifty always looking at them but usually they are asking big money for them and I never knew I needed a giant spigot until I saw that one. There was no way I wasn't bringing it home with me. Hope ya;ll are all doing good down there.
Hey there George! I think you have a vice for vises! We picked up a chicken weather vane that was on sorry shape but some elbow grease and it now sits atop the coop! that brass valve can be made into something cool for the shop! Thanks, take care 👍
Hey Matt, sorry I didn't catch that first part..Something about vises? You know where I can find some? 🤣🤣🤣. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with the weather vane yet after I get it back in shape and hat nozzle was just too awesome not to bring home. Take it easy Brother hope you have a good week.
That's a cool haul for my interests at least, I'm a somewhat collector \hoarder of various brass objects some have to religiously shine like the sun & others more bulky or substantial in size I like the patina of age, I vaguely recall years ago checking out a pile of valves and nozzles and there was one like yours, the older gentleman selling said it was not fire apparatus but for filling a vessel thru a porthole, "not a ship," hey maybe at a brewery or distillery that'd be cool, on that note cheers man!!
Thanks Mike, I'm gonna see what I can find out about this one, I've been hearing that it was fire apparatus and it's industrial. But personally you know I'm rooting for brewery! 🍻
Great finds!! The brass nozzle from American LaFrance is exactly what you think. That company made fire trucks and fire suppression equipment. Looks like it's for industrial or manufacturing settings where a exstuing
American Lefrance built fire apparatus, including fire trucks. The Reed vise is a fine score for $40. Proto extensions have a distinctive Proto shape, very delicate feminine curves. I knew that it was a Proto before you confirmed it.
Hello Paul, Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. You know I was gonna bring that Reed home especially for that price. You becoming a Proto fan boy? Gonna come over from team Snap On? Just having some fun with ya. How did the cattle transfer go?
@Uwannawatch Cattke hauling is this Thursday. I do like and own a lot of Proto, but generally think that it is inferior to Snap-On. Among my favorite Proto products are their pullers, pry bars, and line-up pins. I own Proto wrenches, ratchets, sockets, extensions, hammers, Allen sockets, punches and chisels, etc. Some are very fine tools. All are "Professional Tools" (Pro To). But I think that their pullers are exceptional. The slim and ergonomic designs appeal to me over Snap-On and the very popular and often copied OTC, though I own an equal number of each brand. The used tool market value tends to validate my opinion that Snap-On is consistently better than Proto. Urrea made Proto tools in Mexico and spun off on their own in the late 1980's. I placed one order of the new Urrea branded tools to save expense. They were shaped just like Proto but were clearly inferior in finish. I didn't like them and never placed another order.
The Reed vise is definitely a keeper. The manufacturer date will be on the left side of the slide and the body they are usually about 1/8” tall sometimes hade to read. Some of the best vises made.
Great purchases as always! The screwdrivers are very nice, a coffee here at the bar costs 1.50 euros, you paid about 1 euro each. I always say, I think it's the advantage of still having the 1 dollar bills. Unknowingly you can give them value. Since you have the 5, 10, 20, 50 euros here, everything is rounded up to the highest amount. In the end they always ask for 10 or 20 even if it's worth 3.
It 's funny we have tables here at the Flea market that will charge 25 cents (A quarter} but since no really carries coins you will either find 3 more items to make the total $1 or you will give them $1 for a 25 cents item.
Some really cool stuff this week. Nozzle is going to look sharp all polished. How many vises are in your collection? Take care brother and say hi to your better half from us up north.
Hey there My Northern Brother! That nozzle is sweet and I'm gonna try to find a little more info on it. I'm not sure how many I have now..Last time I counted I think it was in the 60's..Maybe..I did sell a couple and a couple are going to my Buddy Petey. Take care and give the missus a hello . I'll catch up with you soon.
I really enjoy that wooden handle screwdriver with the plastic cap on there I like oddities like that I do have to admit I liked all the her brand screwdrivers too But I know she wearing a wool cap When you get a fire up that little wood burner in the background Come on brother it's almost Christmas
Hey Brother Les! I don't need any more screw drivers but those were too cool not bring home, I've been working a lot at my job so I haven't had a lot of time to get in the shop but hopefully we'll be toasty warm in here for the New Year.
Nice haul of some cool stuff I like the blue handle screwdrivers and the nosle both will look good , what do you do with tools or tool brands you don't collect? Stay safe brother
@ reeds were originally black with red lettering. I know you don’t paint often a flat black enamel paint with the red letters look great. Could be fun to bring it back to the original
Hey Brother! I'm not sure what the nozzle's exact purpose was yet but I'm gonna do some more asking around to see if we can find out. Happy Holidays to you too Brother!
@@Uwannawatch Hey Brother George! My wager would be on an old hand pulled hand pumped fire cart. (Maybe horse drawn?) From back in the day. Lots of collectors out there for that type of stuff btw.
I forgot to say it Keep the faith my friend I didn't get a chance to watch this on Sunday Cause my roommate brought covid into the house I'm a little under the weather
Hey I'm not sure. I've never had a record vise. They aren't here in the US but you can reach out to Jim from @handtoolrestoration he would be able to give you a lot of info on it I'm sure.
Great stuff George and I love the vice it's a big one thanks for sharing your time 🍺🍺👍👍
Hey Brian! Ya it's a nice big old vise! Thanks for checking in! 🍺🍺🍻
I LOVE the Weather Vane 🙂

$40 for the Reed vise?!? That's an awesome score! GREAT find.
I know right! There was no way I wasn't gonna bring it home for that price!
Cool video brother. I am a sucker for wind vanes, therefore the Amish style wind vane would be my favourite. The brass nozzle is cool, but not something I would be drawn to.

George nice haul , I love the Reed Vise!!!!
Hey Ken, I know right? I'll bring them home every time especially for that price. i'm gonna get it all cleaned up and back in action.
Nozzle is a killer find. Love odd things like that. Thanks again, George.
Thanks Brother! Ya it was just too cool not to bring it home.

Ooops dang spell check. But again great haul!
@@mikebrunosgarage5338 I got ya Mike, Thanks for the info! Hope you are all doing well.
American Lefrance built fire apparatus, including fire trucks.
The Reed vise is a fine score for $40.
Proto extensions have a distinctive Proto shape, very delicate feminine curves. I knew that it was a Proto before you confirmed it.
Hello Paul,
Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.
I didn't like them and never placed another order.
nice reed
Thank You! Couldn't pass it up especially for that price.
The Reed vise is definitely a keeper. The manufacturer date will be on the left side of the slide and the body they are usually about 1/8” tall sometimes hade to read. Some of the best vises made.
Thanks, I don't know if I will keep it or not I already have a couple of them. No matter what It'll get a restoration and back in working order.
That nozzle should polish up nicely!
I think it will. I'm gonna try to find out a bit more about it.
Wish i could find reed vices for 40$ they're always 100$ and up here in east Tennessee, great score!
Hey Troy, The restored ones fetch good money up here too. But you can still find unrestored vises here and there for good prices.
Would like to see how the Herbrand clean up! I’m a sucker for cobalt blue.
I'll show them all cleaned up when I get to them if I don't trade them.
Thanks Jeffery, The brands I don't collect get traded, sold and donated. Take care Brother. Hope you have a good week.
$40 is a big win in the reed
I was happy to hand over my money. I'm not sure if it'll stay or not but either way it's gonna get restored.
@ reeds were originally black with red lettering. I know you don’t paint often a flat black enamel paint with the red letters look great. Could be fun to bring it back to the original
It has the original price tag. $2. Crazy. Everytime I watch this channel you talk about my ex-wife. Nice video.
🤣🤣
I'm going to say that the Fire hose nozzle is from a building, where each floor would have them.
That's a good suggestion.
Hey Brother George! That is a cool fire nozzle! High banking nozzle? (Mining?) (old fire dep't?) Happy holidays to you and yours Sir!
Just suggesting: Big nozzle, donate to ScoutCrafter. Christmas present to him. Just sayin. Nice video.
I forgot to say it Keep the faith my friend I didn't get a chance to watch this on Sunday Cause my roommate brought covid into the house I'm a little under the weather
Hope you feel better soon Brother!
The vise and nozel I found n record vise wit the number247 on it is it a serial number ?
Hey I'm not sure. I've never had a record vise. They aren't here in the US but you can reach out to Jim from @handtoolrestoration he would be able to give you a lot of info on it I'm sure.
Weather Vane
Thanks for checking in I appreciate it!
