IRSCJX8 is the very best rear tire I’ve ever run in Colorado. Had it on my 500 EXC last year and it got me up stuff that I never thought I could get up. There is no other tire better than this tire for super technical and rocky hard pack terrain.
I agree so far. Stay tuned for the forest version of this test. Absolutely incredible
Give the At81ex a go. I've ran 2 jx8's and I like the At81ex more
Wish they sold the jx8 in a 19-inch for my 450. I've got a buddy that's got the jx8 and he's had it for two seasons I'm pretty impressed. I find you'll absolutely like those tires. I love IRC tires 🤘
Nice riding, Morgan!
Love my JX8! I can get about half a season on it if I’m nice to it 😆
Hahaha, I wouldn't get 1/2 a day out of one riding the way I normally do.
GAMECHANGER!
❤️❤️❤️
Where the heck are you riding??? Such a weird terrain to me. I am in Atlanta GA and we have nothing but super steep hills and trees every 2 feet.
Montrose Colorado
I'm not a fan of the JX8 it has super traction but felt like I had a flat in the the rear, also it didn't last very long. To run it for one hard enduroo and throw it away after would be perfect but I can't afford to do that.
Fortunately that is what I get to do but I hear ya.
hi Morgan, if you're planning on hard enduroing you should try the tire not only in straight sections but only on reply steep off camber stuff because that's something you'll commonly find. that's why all the pros run the 140/18 mostly the Michelin enduro xtrem. this weekend was the erzbergrodeo arguably the biggest most extreme hard enduro race in the world, go take a look at what tires they're running
Stay tuned dude. This was the first test.
Oh and I know what erzberg is. And you probably know that the pros are running tires we can’t even buy. They are special compounds from the manufacturers. I got to hold Johnny Walkers spec Dunlop tire when he came by my shop. It was incredible
@@highlandcycles I'm very tuned man see all your videos 😁 just sharing my experience as an hard Enduro rider. The straight stuff is important but when you're riding off camber that's where a tire truly shows it's colors
@@MrJacksmithFTW yep. Vid coming
@highlandcycles pro spec tires are wiiiiiild. Was at ATL SX this year and got to do the knobbie punch test on what was supposedly an MX33 Dunlop…. Yeah…. Not no MX33 that I’ve ever had lol. Thing was like squeezing a gummy bear
I know you haven't been a fan of the irc ve33s gekkota, my favorite rear tire for north east regular enduro, but I'm pumped your going to run the jx8 and v40 at the hard Enduro.
Yeah. I like this way better than the VE33
I’m with ya man, I wanted to like the VE33 because everybody talked about how great it was. It doesn’t compare at all to the JX8. JX8 is hands down the grippiest tire out there.
@@TDJUNKIEOZ The jx8 doesn’t last for anything. The VE33S is a solid all around tire. Nothing amazing but lasts a good bit. I’ve never found an IRC front I like.
Here in Indiana the VE33S is way more practical than the JX8.....no rocky trails ,just roots and mud
I just ran my first JX8 in Tough Like RORR 2 weeks ago and I felt like my bike could climb trees if I could keep the front end down!
Totally
If really like to know how long it lasts. Currently I'm using a VE33s which I'm super bummed about as it's lost 30% of it's knobs in 7 rides which is pathetic.
I had the same experience with the VE so we will see.
7 rides is pretty solid. I use only gummy rears and usually destroy a rear in 3-5 rides. The ve33s seems to last me the longest.
@@sarahdell4042 well i guess if you're pockets are that deep then fine but i have higher expectations for a $100 tire
@@flingndirt_UT Gotta pay to play. I ride gnarly terrain and that little extra traction really goes a long way when you’re exhausted and at the bike tugging stage 😂
After riding Moab I put no credit on tire testing in the desert.... Grip was so good out there, I swear I didn't even need a tire 🤔
These are very different rocks than Moab. That sandstone is crazy grippy. But don’t worry the wet log and mud test is coming
👍👍
I hate that "fat tire" front in any sort of rut. For me they kind of grab the sides. If its an area that is sandy with a bunch of non rutted trail then I'm way better with it. Never really given IRC a try. Maybe will put them on the list. Michelin fan boy these days.
They are very good
Careful going slow…. You’ll foul a plug 😅
Hahahaha
