I think there's a bit in the middle where I completely lost track of reality/what was going on, when I question both the R-Type and Mega CD game titles which have already been stated... Ignore it. It didn't happen. Move along. Also... Happy New Year Fertlers!
hahah.. i was JUST coming into the comment section to make fun of you like a silly little school boy.. (usual youtube protocol) Especially with the MEGA CD part.. They mentioned an ALIEN CONSPIRACY .. heh and you then asked if it was MAD DOG!! :) I thought i was watching a playthrough my RADBRAD.. he often seems to make the strangest of logical leaps while playing games :) BUT!! you preempted me :) good on ya.. all critique is now null and void.. i will have to find another youtuber to get my fix of petty trolling for the day.. perhaps Brad has a new episode out :)
Wow this one brings back memories. I was the competition winner still have the 3DO boxed complete and the T-shirt and letter they sent, was still at school and everyone was shocked I won something off TV. Ironically due to delays it was another year before I got the unit so the production company sent me some megadrive games in the meantime to say sorry.
Colin Johnston i thin your confused, not to keep his item but to review a boxed retro console and then send it back. Many channels have fans send in items for review. LGR gaming, nostalgia Nerd, ashens etc...then they have them sent back.
Nostelgia Nerd Thanks for putting these up as I have been a life long gamer ( 42 years and counting) and always regretted growing up, living and working over seas and missing these shows on gaming; even though I skewed higher than the age demographic for them at the time. Your commentary on them is awesome and funny and gives me your adult perspective on a show you liked/loved as a kid. Well Done, thanks and Happy New Year. Long may you make and post awesome content.
Nobody forgave them for dropping Nam Rood. The guy was just naturally hilarious. Violet Berlin, you'll never find a better games journalist. Still miss her.
Saw this episode while prepping for finals, last month. Just seeing the Sparkster and Lemminng costumes puts a smile on my face. I occasionally visit Massachusetts to see my sister, and the Kendall/MIT station still looks the same as it did in 1993. Most subway stations here in NYC don't last very long and have to undergo maintenance or renovation.
The snowman from Clayfighter creepily staring at the camera from the backgroud was too much 😂 Ah, when even games that were garbage were fun. Well. Think I'll go play a brand new AAA fetch quest title. Those are just as fun. Right?
Good to see Bad Influence back , Bell-fruit the fruit machine company had something to do with Rise of the Robots arcade machine, which never got released
Just before the camera cut, it did look as though Sonic is about to grab hold of that girls head!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've never seen a Game Gear being used like that!🤯
3:31 It's interesting you say that, because the most common Super Nintendo bundle in the US came with two controllers. It seems the PAL SNES only came with one (as far as I can find).
At 2:00 is that Real3D they have running there? Wow, that takes me back! I was more of an Imagine, then Cinema4d person myself, but I dabbled. I'd forgotten how cute Violet Berlin was! By the way, does anyone remember the name of a video-game show that she hosted solo? I remember that the title sequence had a CG version of her called Violent Berlin (great name!) but not much else.
I love this series, would there be a chance of you making a series about Gamezville? it was a program about games made in 2003 by Sky, I loved watching that show as a kid, I would understand if you considered it to be too "modern" for your channel lol
I had a 3do on release, always felt it was underpowered as the frame rates were always low compared to my pc.Also house prices were not cheap, bought my first house in 1990 it cost 100,000 and was on a council block in Cambridge,it’s all relative, the neighbours bought theirs from the council years earlier for 9,000 ! Also the interest rate was 14% and we were earning way less than today’s wages.
Nams moral of the story, Play Video Games and you will be a billy no mates and you will spend christmas alone and no one will come to your party. Poor Nam.
I remember rise of the robots. It was a painful experience in disk swapping on the amiga before I got a hard drive. I may be exaggerating slightly but there was something like 6 disks for the intro and that was barely a minute long, so it was like a floppy loading for 45 seconds, followed by a ten second clip, followed by a disk swap and another 45 seconds.. I remember recording it to vhs and pausing the record to stitch it together to make a full sequence to wow my friends. The rest of the game was as bad. With each robot needing its own disk.
Computer holograms. Yes, it's possible - but the computational requirements for it are ridiculous, even today. It took a supercomputer, probably working for months, to draw those crude pictures. Today you could do it as quickly as a few frames-per-week.
But those 3d video timelines were what the 90s were all about matey....exploring the limits of what could be done regardless of how practical Jurassic Park not only is the best example but also has the most appropriate quote to describe the decade The Unix system in the film is fucking impractical but pretty ...and Dr Malcoms quote of being so concerned that they could they didnt stop to think if they should sums it up nicley
frazdunc My Christmas would have been complete if I'd opened a box to discover Violet inside sporting a large novelty bow. The review of Rise of The Robots would have been long forgotten.
RISC - Reduced Instruction Set Computer. Chip??? I guess fact-checking was difficult back in the age where your only source of information was the rubbish that marketing teams fed you.
>2nd is it worth making a big deal about. You guys commented to rebuke the original comment and didn't spend the 10 seconds it would take to check whether what you thought was even right. So you tried to make yourselves look good and ended up looking like morons.
>Did you try understanding the tone in your original comment? My tone was "the original comment is about fact checking and people unironically reply with their own nonsense they didn't bother to spend a few seconds checking with google".
What is RISC? Seriously why don't they ask "Is water wet?". Would be much more chalanging, I mean is it trough? Because wet is something soaked in water or other liquid so is what wet because it is no soaked in water I mean water is not compromising the structural behavior of water. SEE SO MUCH MORE CHALLENGING!.
The worst thing about the 90s was the idea that DIGITAL VIDEO went well with computer games.. it never did.. it never HAS.. and it never will.. that didnt stop those fucking developers to try and squeeze in a low res piece of shit fmv in every game they could. I was so happy when they finally gave the idea up for dead.. its like the idea of a RED DWARF movie.. it sounds like a good idea.. but u know ultimately the formats just dont mix.
I think there's a bit in the middle where I completely lost track of reality/what was going on, when I question both the R-Type and Mega CD game titles which have already been stated... Ignore it. It didn't happen. Move along. Also... Happy New Year Fertlers!
Yaay, thank you!
Nostalgia Nerd ~ ....ha!
Please tell us you're going to do series 3 & 4?
hahah.. i was JUST coming into the comment section to make fun of you like a silly little school boy.. (usual youtube protocol) Especially with the MEGA CD part.. Gareth Williams make a video on it or send it him to make one!
lemmonsforkings why the he'll would he give his prized 3do to a youtuber??
Colin Johnston i thin your confused, not to keep his item but to review a boxed retro console and then send it back. Many channels have fans send in items for review. LGR gaming, nostalgia Nerd, ashens etc...then they have them sent back.
Do a video sometime on it.
Little did they know that Violet ended up as a playable character in Micro Machines 2
Nostelgia Nerd

Dingadingdang! I guess the developers of that game were fans of Ministry’s Jesus Built My Hotrod
Please keep on doing videos like this.... its awesome!!!!!!
Loving your videos on Bad influence, great stuff. 3DO I love it!!
When I was in 7th grade a kid had one of those remote watches and drove a teacher to near madness by periodically turning the tv on.
Please upload more Bad Influence episodes!!! I love this
That Dingadingdangmydangalonglinglong cheat is a reference to a Ministry song called Jesus Built My Hot Rod.
Another bad influence. I have tea and a cheesecake. Time to watch. Thanks nostalgia nerd.happy new year as well buddy.
UR COVERING ALONE IN THE DARK THIS YEAR?! AWSUM!!!
I was 15 and can't even remember this show, saying that I can't remember much of being 15.
You forget how much of a good look a long sleeve t shirt rolled up above the elbow is.
Happy New Years 🎄🎉💃🥃🍻🍾🍸 Thanks for the video
"designed by a prefessional interior designer" LOLOLOLOL
The video quality is very good, I also enjoyed the scanlines.
excellent series commentating on old shows . pls make more!
Saw this episode while prepping for finals, last month. Just seeing the Sparkster and Lemminng costumes puts a smile on my face.

RotR HYPE!!!!! Man I was so caught up in that hype, reading every Edge mag that had even a mention. Ohhh the hype was great.
I miss the 90's.
I had that remote-control watch. Much hilarity was had turning off tellys in Dixon's window.
Good video! We never got anything this fun and game-centric as this in the States... Just Captain N and the like. Now I feel old and miss the 90s.
I cant believe rise of the robots really had any effort from anyone at any point
Smaller team allow people to put more effort into there games. However the outcome of the game was mehh...
Christmas still lasts until the first day of school for me. I never left - I used to be a student, now I'm staff. Doesn't feel like much changed.
I am back in work tomorrow so super depressed 😫
I feel for the people you work for, imagine how depressed they will be when you come in ;)
Nothing suicide cant fix ;P
The snowman from Clayfighter creepily staring at the camera from the backgroud was too much 😂 Ah, when even games that were garbage were fun. Well. Think I'll go play a brand new AAA fetch quest title. Those are just as fun. Right?
happy birthday Violet
Good to see Bad Influence back , Bell-fruit the fruit machine company had something to do with Rise of the Robots arcade machine, which never got released
that Bog guy so wanted to be Rik Mayall lol.I Love it when you show these
The time I used to like Christmas
"With this watch you can turn off TVs. You can also steal a really expensive BMW with it."
YES!! What a great start to the year. Time to crack a beer!
I adore this "look at this high tech that in some years we will use" and it's dead and forgotten because we have things people could not imagine then.
I did that chocolate thing when I was a kid after watching this lol
I even saw Bubsy in the background!
I think it was that year I got my Amiga 1200, on my birthday.
Just before the camera cut, it did look as though Sonic is about to grab hold of that girls head!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've never seen a Game Gear being used like that!🤯
Wasn't violet in Micro Machines game ? Great video by the way I don't think I actually saw that bad influence back in the day
Micro Machines 2 and Turbo Tournanent '96

Rick n Roll Racing endures as one of my favourite SNES games, still a great fun couch multiplayer game today.
I love this series, would there be a chance of you making a series about Gamezville? it was a program about games made in 2003 by Sky, I loved watching that show as a kid, I would understand if you considered it to be too "modern" for your channel lol

Love the video as always nostalgia nerd. What about going frame by frame over the data blast and commentating on that as well. Just a suggestion.
nice Jesus Built My Hotrod reference in that last cheat code
Ooh this is an excellent new year gift, ta!
HAPPY NEW YEAR :D
Nostalgia Nerd Same to you!
Oh that Violet. 10 year old me may have had somewhat impure thoughts...
Violet in a pair of long pants?
I don't believe it....
I love the Star Wars trilogy on SNES, all around awesome games.
That's not what RISC stands for!!! It's actually Reduced Instruction Set Computing, from what I heard back then!
Nams moral of the story, Play Video Games and you will be a billy no mates and you will spend christmas alone and no one will come to your party. Poor Nam.
Still have my 3do. Love it
I make sure to get a Master of Feng Sui to design all the Rooms in my games so they all have the proper chi.
That 3D program being used at the start is, 3D Studio R3 or R4 not sure.
edit: My avatar here was done in that software.
I remember rise of the robots. It was a painful experience in disk swapping on the amiga before I got a hard drive. The rest of the game was as bad. With each robot needing its own disk.
Brilliant fun
It wasn't Reduced Instruction Set Chip, it was Reduced Instruction Set Computer
Thumbs up because of Cool Spot!
I like how she talks through her nose
Kind of feel bad no one went to nams party
can't believe Hemel Hempstead was mentioned at the end as its where i live.
Ahh man, 3D TV's coming right around the corner!
I like Rise of the Roberts as well so don't feel too guilty.
I too didn't really give a toss what Z Wright had to say or tell us about "over there" lol btw , what is the correct way to spell his name,?
From 18:44 play at 0.5 speed. Everyone sounds pissed. Like all good Christmas parties should end.
Your SNESs didn't come with 2 controls?
I never saw a data blast. We didn't own a video :(
Of course nastalgia nerd likes Rise of the robots
Love these shoe,s.
This video made me wanna go oun ebay and buy some new snes game XD
3D Studio for DOS?!
Computer holograms. Yes, it's possible - but the computational requirements for it are ridiculous, even today. It took a supercomputer, probably working for months, to draw those crude pictures. Today you could do it as quickly as a few frames-per-week.
I remember playing Young Merlin. It was pretty decent.
@10:31 Bubsy, Chun Li, Rocket Knight, Bad Mr. Frosty and Mario all hanging around together.
0:30 I see Sparkster behind the host maybe?
ALL I CAN SEE IS SONICS SHINY LEGGINGS!
Ha ~ ground zero Texas. ... i had that.
Violet Berlin 😍
I imagine the bald guy is who Les Dennis is impersonating on 'Extras'
R -Type 3 on Super Famicom
totally feel bad for Nam - i'd go to his party!
19:20 Chun Li looks bored.
Good god that Mario costume is a sorry affair. "Naff as fuck" one would say. No wonder we loved Sonic more overall in the UK.
10:32 Mario looks like Alan Sugar !
Plot twist.... Mario IS Alan Sugar.
Super Mario amstrad
Why is the quality of the video so high?
RocketKnight!
But those 3d video timelines were what the 90s were all about matey....exploring the limits of what could be done regardless of how practical

The pace of the dialog is way too fast.
I used to watch this, I bought rise of the robots as well, violet has a lot to answer for
frazdunc My Christmas would have been complete if I'd opened a box to discover Violet inside sporting a large novelty bow. The review of Rise of The Robots would have been long forgotten.
RISC - Reduced Instruction Set Computer. Chip??? I guess fact-checking was difficult back in the age where your only source of information was the rubbish that marketing teams fed you.
Xilefian It was both those terms.
>Remember the RISC CPU was originally developed
Do you guys even know how to use google?
donpalmera Do you have a problem of some sort?
>2nd is it worth making a big deal about.
You guys commented to rebuke the original comment and didn't spend the 10 seconds it would take to check whether what you thought was even right. So you tried to make yourselves look good and ended up looking like morons.
>Did you try understanding the tone in your original comment?
My tone was "the original comment is about fact checking and people unironically reply with their own nonsense they didn't bother to spend a few seconds checking with google".
Cover some 'alone in the dark' games.. Do I sense a let's play or is it wishful thinking?
Hah..Gold :p
That's original 3D Studio.
Alright, but no mention of DOOM ?!
I wasted almost 40 quid on the CD32 version of Rise of the Robots.......what a pile of shite it was!
What is RISC? Seriously why don't they ask "Is water wet?". Would be much more chalanging, I mean is it trough? Because wet is something soaked in water or other liquid so is what wet because it is no soaked in water I mean water is not compromising the structural behavior of water.
