cool list, although personally I think I'll be looking onto steam first because while the switch certainly has the advantage in terms of having nintendo's games and stuff the deck is superior when it comes to games available on your list

    here are some hidden gems I can recommend;
    1) cruisin blast; this was recommended in a video from Metal Jesus Rocks, and it is a legit fun zany rfacing game!
    2) waifu uncovered; this title speaks to me and is a great entry in schmups with the added benefit of being as thorough as you can :)
    3) klanoa; a very charming ps2 platformer with lovely music and visuals and an interesting 2d/3d level design which was released earlier this yr
    4) Dragonball FighterZ; i know this is an acclaimed title, but people never really talk about how great it is, but no one speaks on how great this is on switch. I think it is the best fighter on the platform
    5) A.I Somnia files & A.I Somnia files Nirvana Initiative; this is my introduction into the graphic novel genre, and this has you investigating murders and solving puzzles along the way. Brilliant.

If you're into horror games and are getting into visual novels I highly recommend Death Mark. It has a lot more interaction than many VNs and even boss battles although they're definitely unique in the way the game approaches them. Anyways you should definitely check it out. There's also another game in the series on Switch called NG (not sure what it stands for) and a sequel coming out soon.

Good list! Nice to see Compile Heart/ idea factory getting some love. I have both of the death end request games, as well as dragon star varnir. Dragon Star varnir really hooked me. I like how they turn base system & physics used in those games. Eternal Radiance is another good visual novel / action rpg, on your list. A good list overall.

Fair warning if it's not your thing they are at times borderline visual novels. You don't move a character in Death End Request 2 for at least the first hour. The story IS really good though, and you can speed up the text if it gets too overbearing.

I have Metal Max Xeno Reborn, Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story, and the Death end re;Quest games but I have yet to play them because of my gigantic blacklog. They seem really promising though and I look forward to playing them. A lot of these other games look promising as well and I'll have to look into them.
A couple of underrated Switch games I'd like to recommend are Bladed Fury and Vigil: The Longest Night. Bladed Fury is a 2D side-scrolling action adventure game with some RPG and metroidvania elements. It is done in hand-drawn style that reminds me of Vanillaware games and the game itself has some similarities to the Vanillaware game Muramasa: The Demon Blade. Bladed Fury is available both physically and digitally on the Switch. Vigil: The Longest Night is a souls-like metroidvania game that has a really interesting atmosphere and look to it and the gameplay is really satisfying as well. Right now it is only available digitally, though a physical copy of it was announced to be forthcoming but I haven't heard any updates on that yet. I'm very eager for that physical release and I'll likely pre-order it once that option is available.

Vambrace Cold Steel: rpg very similar to Darkest Dungeon. Made by the same guys that made The Coma.
Cthulu Saves Christmas: One of the silliest rpgs I've ever enjoyed.
Super Robot Wars (any of them): Giant robot anime crossover the srpg. All are stupid fun. T being my favorite.

    • @JanusHoW
      @JanusHoW Рік тому

Super Robot Wars 30 is actually the latest in a super long-running series, and the first one since the GBA years to get a Western release. Here's some backstory on it (warning, incoming wall of text):
The overwhelming majority of Super Robot Wars/Taisen games are only legally available in Japan or Southeast Asia (South Korea, Singapore, etc). They weren't released in the West due to insufficient demand in comparison to the costs of getting all the rights, but there are plenty of fan-translated ROMs floating around - and many of them are very good! However, starting with Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers, the Southeast Asian version came with an official English language option. While it was a pretty bad translation, the game still sold well enough in the import market for Namco/Bandai to put more effort into their next English translation, Super Robot Wars V. After V and its sequels SRW X and T all reported stellar earnings, the publisher decided to take the plunge and market SRW 30 to a Western market, albeit only on Steam. But if you're willing to get a Southeast Asian Steam account, you can still get V, X and T.
Fun fact: Instead of lawyering on Aeon Genesis, the ROM-hacking group who did many of the fan translations, Namco/Bandai actually _hired_ one of them to help with the English translation for V...and I think they worked on every one of them afterward.

    Hey there buddy Ren,
Subscribed to your awesome channel....again, 😅💖👌 another hidden gem video about hidden gem Switch games. Now, though I have many more hidden gems from the Vita, my Switch collection is growing pretty rapidly too!
Sense : A Cyberpunk Ghost Story really has a good aesthetic, though the gameplay was a lil janky and unresponsive....a significant flaw during QTEs 😅 Death Mark is another good horror VN/game...
And if I'm not mistaken, you won your copy of Empire of Angles IV from a competition...well done bro!😅💖👌
Okay, got a few more to add to your stellar list :
💖 Hoa (Not challenging and deep at all, but a soothing balm for the eyes and mind)
💖 Spiritfarer (A wonderful, tearful journey of love and bonding...all while bringing the souls to their final resting place. The very definition of an underrated gem)
💖 Iconoclasts (played it on Vita though, very tricky platformer and a very good story setting.)
💖 Dungeon of the Endless (Super fun, worth checking out)
💖 Untitled Goose Game (Wacky wild ride as nature's own angel of honkstruction)
💖 Cris Tales (Beautiful game with one of the best time perception mechanics I've ever seen)
💖 Velocity 2X (Played this on the Vita as well, If you love fast sh'mups and Metroid gameplay....don't sleep on this one! Also the Soundtrack and the small story sync so well with the gameplay. Very highly recommended and criminally underrated.)
    NERDTASTIC VG QUESTION TIME!!😃
❓Which is your favorite range weapon in video games? (Even magic ones will be applicable)

I love these recommendations and multiples are ones I need to try but especially Spiritfarer! That game looks like it is a tear jerker but I'm stoked to experience it.
I love this question! I think the fat man/mini nuke launcher from Fallout will always be one of my favorite weapons in games for long range closely followed by the sniper rifle from Mass Effect 2 and 3 lol. How about you tho?! Thanks for asking!

@@HallowedBeThyGame Oh its always a pleasure. You channel truly slaps!😁💖👍And my memory is very unreliable, it a wonder I remembered that of all things 😅 But once again, congratulations and wish you much more success!
Edit : Oh, I forgot to mention...Dragon Star Varnir has a feature unique to any video game.....it gives you a percentage chance of success against a boss before you engage it! Now that is pretty revolutionary!🐲🌠💖
Spiritfarer is a game you just HAVE to play (but once, since replayability is quite low). Its a stoic journey and a celebration of life, death and everything in between (specially video games). Do try it out buddy (I know the number of recommendations won't do your backlog any favours, but give this one a chance...."A management Simulator game about death." Its surprisingly relaxing and memorable and not a bit depressing for a game of its theme...)
Oh, the Fat Man from fallout! Once again, your choices really rock! 😁💖👍Mine is the Thermobaric Morningstar from Borderlands 2.....a talking sniper rifle 😳 And with superb stats to boot! Mostly nerds many area bosses and it could be the most perfect weapon ever......if it didn't guilt trip you every time 🤣💖

Cybernator is so much better. My first pay thru of Gigantic Army took less than 40mins. The whole game felt insanely easy.

    Compile Heart
Come for the Nep, stay for all the rest of the really great stuff they make as well as Neptunia.
Always depresses me a bit, how many people don’t realize Compile isn’t a one Nep show.

my only issue with that death:End...was that at some point the difficulty jumps....like its a fun game i loved it...but at one point difficulty just jumped and it went from you doing decently well to getting destroyed in like half way lol but that was just my take

Not gonna lie, I was considering everything on this list until you mentioned Death End Re:Quest. I use this game as a case study in "the worst games ever made" when talking to the developers in my studio. Where to begin...
    - You don't gain access to the map to traverse or even get a sense of where you are in the world until halfway through the game. Until then, you just have these horribly jarring scenery changes that leave you with no concept of space or relative location.
    - The character models are early PS3 era. CompileHeart has *never* evolved past the first Neptunia game in terms of upping their technical quality.
    - Every character is a one dimensional trope. Now, this is something CH has been absolute asscheeks with since Neptunia, but they've shown in other games like Dragon Star and a few select characters in Fairy Fencer that they aren't *incapable* of writing a decent character. There just aren't any in this game.
    - The levels are all linear. Completely linear. Anything that indicates otherwise is just a dead end that half the time doesn't even have a piece of loot to reward you for exploring.
    - The areas blocked off in levels are seemingly arbitrary. Just giant signs that say "you can't go this way", even thought there's clearly a fully rendered hallway.
    - The UI and indicators to tell the player what to do are atrocious and inconsistent. There are times when the game will not let you walk 5 feet without shoving the next objective down your throat, and other times when it will stay painfully silent until you click on a very specific thing in a very specific place with no map marker. A certain castle level comes to mind...
    - The music is aggressively mid.
    - The story is... serviceable. Anyone who claims it's a work of God needs to read some actual literature. The writing is middle school at best and relies entirely on McGuffins or thinly veiled fetch quests for the characters to follow around. That said, I'm not going to ding a fanservicey game too much for this since it's not really their objective to sell a story *anyway*.
    - The combat is asinine. The best way to do lots of damage is to do pinball-type knocking around of enemies, to the point where individual skills hardly matter if they don't push around enemies enough. Some characters who aren't designed for doing high knockback are pretty much just healing item spammers.
I could go on, but I think I've made my point. It's rare that I come across a game that has so few redeeming factors, but this one makes for a good case study if absolutely nothing else.

So I have Death End Re;quest 1 as I bought it on Limited Run, but I had a really hard time getting into it with some pretty bad frame rates. Was that fixed or is the game just good enough that I need to push through? I like the idea of the story and art direction so I'd love some input

Why was Death End Re Quest in here? I'm an hour in and I've been in control of my character maybe 3 minutes. Meanwhile there's a ton of text/exposition, and inexplicable fades to the exact same scene. It's ludicrous game design! Not fun or engaging in the slightest.
