Welcome back! 🌟 Great video as always. The Project x Zone games are so fun and underrated. 💯🔥 And man I really gotta play Radiant Historia someday, everything you say about the game in every video it appears sounds amazing.
Always love a HallowedBeThyGame video! With the eshop for 3ds perma closed it is now really hard to get these games. If I find any on this list in one of several after market game stores where I live they usually gouge the price badly. Still it is nice to see these gems get the coverage they deserve.
I was lucky enough to get some of these games before the eShop went under in 2023. This also included both Senran Kagura games, the 3DS Layton games and others. Funny enough before that, I got many JRPGs on the 3DS when SEGA & Atlus had them for cheap. It was just so much of a win. As for Stella Glow, I got the game both physically and digitally. I wish it got a modern port because the game is just so right.
Stella Glow is under appreciated and flew under the radar upon and after release. I am so happy I picked up the launch copy. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and beat it twice. It’s the music, characters, and easy to jump into gameplay for me.
WE LOVE TO SEE RADIANT HISTORIA LOVE!! And Devil Survior is sort of on my list? I dunno.... I'm not a strat kinda girl but EVERYONE sings it's praises. EVERYONE.
Devil Survivor is awesome. The first one has one of the best stories in a jRPG. Told over seven days. I'd love to see a movie or streaming adaptation of it someday.
Another fantastic Hidden Gem video that has actual Hidden Gems! I always appreciate the 3DS love! Let’s keep it alive brother! Thanks for sharing! So many great shouts! Stay awesome my dude!
Love this series, will be checking out Sengan Kagura and Project X. Would never have found these if not for you! Couple of things; it'd be helpful if you could keep the games names on-screen any time footage is showing. And maybe it's time to update your intro video? I'd be totally happy to help with that if you're interested. Much love dude

2:48 - The Stella Glow guys are *technically* still around. They are now Mikage LLC. Weirdly enough, their Japanese twitter has gone down, but their English twitter is still up. Not only that, but both their English and Japanese websites are up, but trying to figure out if they are actually still active is another thing. The whole thing is suspicious...
Hey I really like these videos that you make, and they highlight a lot of games I put on my list to check out. One thing I'd like to request though for the future, I'd really like some more descriptive details on the game, even just some quick bullet points. For most of these, you only really mention the genre of game that it is, and say it's very fun, sometimes addressing the themes. I'd really be interested in hearing more about what makes the gameplay standout. For Stella Glow for example, you mostly focus on the fact that it's only on the 3DS, and that it's really fun, and that it is an SRPG. I'd love if you'd dig into that a little more. Is it fun because it's really challenging? Is it flexible? Does it mix up the formula compared to Fire Emblem? Is the story the main draw? Does it have really varied encounter or enemy design? Just some quick bullet points to hit to know what makes this game worth the time. "Fun" unfortunately can mean a variety of different things, so the specificity of what exactly you did find fun would be really helpful! Thanks for making these videos, keep on keepin' on :)
Project x Zone 2 is unironically one of my favorite 3DS games outside of the FEs, SMTs, Senran & other titles. The QoL improvements they added in 2 are great: Upgrading Pair & Solo Unit moves for more ATK/Status Boost/or both, Weapons having much more of an impact, not using a specific move(s) in a turn will buff them for next time, attacking enemies from the front, side or rear will decide the amount of extra damage you do, sound improvement & of course, another awesome roster among other things. Its all really great. Project x Zone is 100% experiencing & playing especially 2, can't recommend it enough!
Project x zone series. Codename steam. Tales of the abyss. Senran kagura And list goes on. So many good games especially for cheap Fe isn't underated but fates gameplay definitely is better than people remember
I love the Senran Kagura games! Yes there is no shortage of T&A in them, the Vita games have collectables in the form of an underwear lottery (because Japan). But under all that jiggle there are really good fighting games to be had!
Sucks how the series is no longer existent. Rumors saying an indie bought the franchise but nothing else. Time to launch the mainline titles outside of pc to other platforms
i just can’t play those games with all these creep shots and jiggle, i can’t take that seriously and it actually rejects me and can totally make me not enjoying an otherwise great game.
Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX. I see so many people recommend Rhythm Heaven Megamix, but this one for some reason gets almost no love. A great song list, and a challenging rhythm game. And you get cake on your birthday! Indie titles: the Silver Falls series. 3 Down Stars is the flagship. Five games, all different styles. One is an actual 8 bit throwback (most calling themselves 8 bit are really 16), another is a gameboy advance style. Steam World: Heist. An incredible tactical side scroller. Fighting in metal ships, so your bullets bounce making for trick shots.
Nice list! Like always you will make me spend more money lol! I've added Overclocked (I have the sequel but not the 1st one) and Heroes of Ruin to my wishlist! I still need to play both X Zone and Radiant Historia! It will happen eventually! Yes you've finally played Fantasy Life! Such an amazing game and the sequel on Switch is a Day 1 purchase for me! Great video and keep up the good work!
Haha I'm so happy you enjoy the videos! I can't wait to hear what ya think of Project X Zone and Radiant Historia! Be sure to let me know when you play them!
So many people talk about how great Fantasy Life is but honestly I tried to like it - started it like 4 times and played hours but it's just so boring and no matter how hard I tried to like it, it's just not fun and felt like hours wasted.
I released the true power of my 3DS because Senran Kagura 2, purchased my digital edition of Stella Glow on my main 3DS, purchased an used cartridge of Project X Zone at a pawn shop for almost 4 dollars, downloaded Nano Assault and totally love it, still got the cartridge of Fantasy Life and am not gonna sell it, sold my copy of Radiant Historia and with that money purchased three Switch games, already got the digital version back, Devil Survivor is a must that’s why I purchased the digital version in my primary 3DS 😊
Some are in the video, others are not, but I would recommend to anyone with a 3DS to try these: 7th Dragon III (don't think I didn't pick up on the soundtrack behind part on Nano Assault), the Etrian Odyssey series, Radiant Historia, Stella Glow, Lord of Magna, Liberation Maiden, Crimson Shroud and Culdcept Revolt.
HarmoKnight, Gunman Clive 1 and 2, Etrian Odyssey 4, Untold the Mellenium Girl, Untold 2 The Fafnir Knight, 5 Beyond the Myth, and Nexus. You want your dungeon crawler that utilzes most of the 3ds functions there it is. Sakura Samurai Art of the sword is a nice action game, Legend of Zelda Link between Worlds is a fantastic game based in the world of a Link in the Past.
To this day I still have a hefty backlog of 3ds games. That says a lot about the fantastic life and catalog the console had. Nintendo should have encouraged and promoted that more instead of just abandoning it.
Started picking up some rare JRPGs recently for my collection. Excited to be going to some upcoming game exchange expos this year and next to look for more titles!

Stella Glow has its shortcomings as a strategy RPG, especially with map design that doesn’t fully consider half the roster. Many characters move at a snail’s pace with limited range and are often obstructed by walls-even after maximizing Bond passives on NG+, it’s still frustrating. Plus, waiting for every unit to finish its turn can be tedious, especially since most enemies takes seconds to finish only to end their turn standing in the same place if you’re out of range. Still, I love this game-the art, the story, and the gameplay come together to make it an endearing package despite its flaws. P.S. Hilda best girl~!
Project X Zone 2 looks pretty great but i don't know if it's worth $150AU. So glad i got digital versions of Radiant Historia:PC and SMGT: Strange Journey Redux. They're sitting at $300AU and $240AU physical rn ☠️ I love the 3DS but i think I'm done collecting for it now. I've been priced out.
The Project X Zone games, are very fun. Currently playing through Namco x Capcom when ever I get a chance, and I need to get a hold of Endless Frontier and Endless Frontier Exceed one day.
3:40 Anything for more coverage of Klonoa (Namco X Capcom, the game before Project X Zone, probably used Klonoa Heroes version of Klonoa) speaking of Klonoa, apparently Klonoa was added as a "costume" in Pseudoregalia by modding. Here are some other fun games Return to popolocrois, epic Mickey, ghost recon shadow wars, splinter cell 3D, LBX, the amazing spider man, spider man edge of time, Thor, captain America and conception 2.
Havent seen rhytm thief recommended in a while. Its a pretty fun (if slightly jank) rhythm game that has a bunch of rhythm related mini games as you do phantom thief things. Maybe not worth the absurd physical prices though 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️ For less recommended games in big series tho, professor layton x ace attorney has phoenix wright defending witch trials which i think is all that needs to be said lol. Smt4 apocalypse is gameplay wise a big improvement on smt 4 that hardcore smt fans will usually not recommend because they made the story much more light hearted and shonen anime. But no knowledge of smt4 is required to enjoy it even if it is a sequel. I played it first and had no problems. Also worth noting that theres more dialogue in that one which makes it feel better paced than smt 4 imo. An original ds game but maybe worth mentioning: stella glow is the spiritual successor to luminous arc which was a ds series. It had 2 english ds games and a 3rd jp only one, not sure on any fan translations. Allegedly the second one is very similar to stella glow so if you really like stella glow it could be like playing a fun demake of that game.
FANTASY LIFE + STELLA GLOW are two under appreciated games, well Stella Glow is. Monster Hunter 4; Ultimate is another not so hidden game that people need to try out if they have not. You can still play local multi play despite servers being down. I had several years of good vibes with MH4U. I wish MH4U received an HD treatment on the Nintendo Switch or beyond!
As a big Senran Kagura fan I imported the japanese version, after an exploit was revealed that made the 3DS region free, for a while, just for them to announce a PAL release like 2 months later or so, which i got as well of course. Sad the series is dead. Stella Glow I bought at the last day of the 3DS e-shop for like 4 buck, but I havn't played it yet. Love the Project X Zone games. Fantasy Life I do own, but as you said, I could spend a ton of time on it, and I'm kinda afraid of that tbh, lol. Radiant Historia I imported from the US on the DS and never felt I need to get the 3DS version as well, I know it has extra content but nah, I'm happy with the DS version. The same goes with the Devil Survivor games, and really any Atlus DS games they brought to the 3DS. And nowadays they are way too expensive anyway. Now for Heroes of Ruin I have to thank you, sometimes I remember playing a demo of this game but the title eluded me, but now I can hunt a copy down! A game I would consider a hidden gem is Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure, a really fun rhythm puzzle adventure game.
Of these, still have Heroes of Ruin with my favorite class in the game being the alchitect, followed by the gunslinger. Range over melee or brute strength. Used to have the localized Senran Kagura Deep Crimson, both Project X Zone games, but turned those to my local GameStop for store credit. Only have the imported version of the original version of the first Senran Kagura game and Deep Crimson. Wondering who the hottie in the thumbnail is, and which game she's from.
Radiant Historia is one of the best JRPGs I've ever played, it is criminal how few people have played it... I know it's part of the theme to be lost in time but... come on
Mine would be ex troopers english patch. Ive never heard any youtuber talk about this game but id like it this way that nobody knows my favorite game except me
I play games mostly for th narrative, but i ended up putting 120hrs in to fantasy life with out knowing, just got lost in the game play loop. Loking forward for the sequel 🎉
If you have a New 3DS with custom firmware, you can run Senran Kagura at higher clock speeds to smooth out the frame rate problems that plagued it at launch. Nothing like anime bewbs rendered in true 3D and lovingly animated at 60fps.
Love project x zone 1 and 2 I play it really often once it came out I love the game and the story. Ty for sharing a really good game that I played Ren.

Fantastic recommendations!
SMTV was a huge step back from SMTIV story wise. At least the definitive version is miles better except for story and characters.
Devil Survivor needs to come back. Modern ports of both, as well as a new entry. My favorite series on the (3)DS, rivaled only by Bravely!
Yeah like, persona 5 tactica could've easily been another devil survivor game, atlus is focusing too much on persona
I am surprised you have StellaGlow but another game with some similarities are the Luminous Arc series which are also stuck on DS.
I also did not know about Deep Crimson. Going to have to track it down.
I think the rumor saying the series was bought by an indie but we’ll see
@@therealjaystone2344 Senran Kagura?
Of these, still have Heroes of Ruin with my favorite class in the game being the alchitect, followed by the gunslinger. Range over melee or brute strength.
Used to have the localized Senran Kagura Deep Crimson, both Project X Zone games, but turned those to my local GameStop for store credit. Only have the imported version of the original version of the first Senran Kagura game and Deep Crimson.
Wondering who the hottie in the thumbnail is, and which game she's from.
Love all these games except the last 2 I believe. I didn't dislike them I just didn't played them. All these games are so good, I miss the 3ds
Conception II Children of the Seven Stars, it's a dungeon crawler rpg it's really fun.
YES, Stella Glow was such a good game. Such a shame the studio went under. A Switch revival would be a miracle.
Radiant Historia is one of the best JRPGs I've ever played, it is criminal how few people have played it...
I know it's part of the theme to be lost in time but... come on
Mine would be ex troopers english patch. Ive never heard any youtuber talk about this game but id like it this way that nobody knows my favorite game except me
Great video but I did catch the line in the heroes of ruin portion where you said it was great on switch must have been wishful thinking
Love Fantasy Life, can’t wait for the new entry coming to the switch I believe this year
So hype!
I play games mostly for th narrative, but i ended up putting 120hrs in to fantasy life with out knowing, just got lost in the game play loop. Loking forward for the sequel 🎉
That's so awesome!
Love Devil Survivor but I LOVE Project X Zone.
Stella glow is one game on this list I wish we gotten a sequel or something like it
Devil survivor 2 Spotpass is broken + those Rare modified English of the locked Japanese only Durara characters are good.
I had the first game on list, there a sqeul or reissue version on Playstation 4, but i think its hard to find now
I tried XZone but it didnt caught me the gameplay. Its feels on track gameplay
There's a quote in Devil Survivor " That's not the point! This lockdown isn't active Insanity that robs us of our rights."
Yup.
If you have a New 3DS with custom firmware, you can run Senran Kagura at higher clock speeds to smooth out the frame rate problems that plagued it at launch. Nothing like anime bewbs rendered in true 3D and lovingly animated at 60fps.
bro started the list with Senran Kagura lmao based
from what game is the thumbnail?
Make a video on how to play Proyect X
I’ve seen Senran Kagura in your older videos before and thought it was ridiculous. But I’m no better and got it for my 2ds..
I'm just going to second radiant historia
I got senran crimson on 3ds because of one of ur videos it's still sealed I need to play it.
Hope you enjoy it!
Idk. If it’s the same genre, but all the Fire Emblem! 😙👌🔥
Would love to try all these but these are all so expensive 😫
First minute and there's bewbage. 🙏
Luckily I have most of the games mentioned (In part thanks to you.)
o7
Happy to help!
Name of the character in the thumbnail?
Which game?
I never got a chance to purchase radiant historia but I do plan on buying the switch version since a physical 3DS version cost too much now
I dk if there will ever be a switch version...good luck mate, it's a great game.
So hopeful for a Switch port!
If there isn't a switch port, you could always use H shop.
I mainly got a 3DS for Project X Zone 1 and 2.
Quality decision 🤘
@@HallowedBeThyGame I kinda want there to be a Part 3 somewhere along the line…
I swear I can’t find the 7th Dragon Song playing in the background on yt. Could you upload it mate?
No worries, just search 7th Dragon III Code VFD: Tokyo Cascading Ordeals - Extended
@@HallowedBeThyGame thanks
@@GameKnight404 np! Enjoy 😊
Love project x zone 1 and 2 I play it really often once it came out I love the game and the story. Ty for sharing a really good game that I played Ren.
