Robby and Miguel's fight is such a great example of story telling in choreography. Robby was off balance and uncentered being worried about Tory, and Miguel took advantage going two points up. Once Tory came back, Robby regained his focus, centered himself, and saw how desperate Miguel was for the final point. Seeing how eratic he was, Robby leaned into Miyagi Do, the style he was first taught by THE Karate Kid to begin with, blocking and parrying Miguels wild attacks, perfectly setting up a counter shot. Amazing fight. Beautifully done.

I love the fact that the score for Robby and Miguel's fight for captainship is called "Battle of Brothers". These two are both great characters and they have come such a long way to really becoming brothers now. It felt like hard earned moment!
My heart broke seeing Tory with Cobra Kai again, it hurts to see that Kreese got to her again. Daniel absolutely made the right choice in stopping the fight. Tory wasn't in the right mindset and could have seriously hurt Sam or worse. Taking the anger and pain out by hitting a pad or bag is one thing, but hitting another person is dangerous.
Now that they saw Cobra Kai’s return, Daniel needs to restore his balance and fix his and Johnny’s relationship so they can win without going separate ways
as a longtime fan of the Karate Kid franchise, I'm so excited about this Mr. Miyagi backstory. I think it will be great for Daniel to see and understand that Mr. Miyagi wasn't a saint. I hope they go with the storyline that he actually did some bad sh*t in his past and learning from those experiences shaped him into the man we met and fell in love with in the first Karate Kid movie. also! Keisuke Miyagi is the name we got for Mr. Miyagi in the Next Karate Kid. it's how Julie Pierce's grandfather knew him. I'm excited to see how they tie this story into that film because Julie Pierce is the final character from the franchise that I'm hoping to see before it ends.

Johnny was right. Daniel didn't let Tory decide, so she went to the only other person that would let her fight. Kreese has actually been on Tory's side since season 3.
To be fair it wasn't solely Tory's choice. Sam said she didn't want to fight her when she was in that state, so if Sam doesn't consent then they shouldn't. Johnny had a point but he should've taken Tory away and be her opponent if he felt so strongly about it.
I think stopping the fight was correct, given Sam and Torys history. But I don't blame Johnny for questioning whether or not it was favoritism, especially since Daniel showed last episode that he was prepared to take Anthony over Tory.
Daniel briefly let his his bias suggest Anthony but he then immediately knew he was biased and wanted to make it fair. He did not seriously consider Anthony, he never even tried to convince Barnes to pick him. He just told Anthony to do his best. He absolutely did not stop the fight because of favoritism. Sam was literally in the lead anyways

32:20 The article mentioned a "Keisuki" Miyagi. That is the first name of Mr. Miyagi that was given in KK3. All other movies and the Cobra Kai series used "Nariyoshi" as Mr. Miyagi's first name. Why the discrepancy? We will find out later when we know the whole story.
KK1 has him as Hideo Miyagi on his dog tag KK2 had him as Nariyoshi I don't think he even had a name in KK3 KK4 had him as Keisuki Miyagi. A bunch of mistakes as he would have been both Hideo and Keisuki on his military records. For Cobra Kai they went with Nariyoshi as canon for some reason. This will be tricky for them to explain logically unless they outright state that Hideo is non-canon and thouroughly detail his name changes.
Apparently there are no extradition laws in Spain, unless the crime was committed in Spain. Otherwise felons are safe to flee there. In Korea they only extradite for sentences over a year.

Correction: Spain does have extradition. The crime does not need to be commited in Spain, the crime commited in the other country just needs to also be illegal in Spain. The first 5 episodes proved that Kreese wasn't the wedge between Daniel and Johnny. They had their issues with each other well before Kreese returned in S1 Kreese and Silver were the reason why Daniel and Johnny reunited in the first place. My prediction is Johnny will retire from karate at the end of the series with Robby taking over the reigns. The new karate kid movie has Daniel in it, so the Miyagi mystery might lead to what that movie will be about. Tory's ending is more vague, but I think she might enlist into the military like Kreese. Miguel and Sam will be seen at college. Hawk might take a year off from school to figure out what he wants. Demetri might defer to join Hawk

Predictions: Miguel vs Yoon. Either Hawk or Robby vs Kwon. In Hawks case, I hope what happens first is that Demetri goes up against Kwon and gets the absolute fuck beat out of him, which could help him realize how much of a cocky dick he's become, and witnessing Demetri get his ass beat would light a fire under Hawk that he's needed since season 5. Robby is also a good match up for Kwon; The perfect style mix vs the do-whatever-it-takes style.

I could see it being Kreese killed her just so he has a strong reason to be locked away for the rest of his life. Like the writers need a reason that he would go to jail without any chance of getting out again to wrap up the story, and murder would do it.
I know this show can be unrealistic at times, but are we really supposed to believe that no one tried to check up on Tory after she walked away? They know it’s just her and her younger sibling now. They only showed a few members of Cobra Kai, including Tori, so I'm really curious to see if Kenny is going to be another surprise Cobra Kai member in the next batch of episodes. His story is still very clearly not over. I'd say that maybe they'd be cutting back and forth from Barcelona to LA, but I have to imagine all of the LaRussos will be heading to Spain for the tournament, so Anthony most likely wouldn't still be back home to have a B-plot with Kenny. But who knows?
It didn’t hit me the first time, but you guys and everyone else pointed out Miyagi Do didn’t know of Cobra Kai being elsewhere; it may have ended its grip in the valley, but still had a home in Korea! It looked like it had died, but Cobra Kai keeps proving it won’t.
They're absolutely doing a Miyagi prequel show. It's why they're setting this stuff up. It's a bad idea of course, because no actor exists that will be able to pull it off. But that isn't going to stop them from doing it. Also, Robby and Tory only promised to be together at the end of the tournament. They never promised to stay on the same side or to not change sides. Johnny should've stepped in and taken Sam's place and let Tory fight him instead and let her fight Sam later. By that point it wasn't about the captain spot anymore, Tory just needed to get her aggression out, and Johnny, having gone through the same thing himself, would've understood and been the perfect person for her to take that aggression out on. He could've said something like, "You wanna fight, you can fight. But you're going to fight _me_ , not LaRusso. We don't need any more people getting hurt." He knows how to handle himself against aggression, as we saw back in season 3 when he fought against Robby

I found Johnny to be a real dick in this episode. He was completely unaware of how unhinged Tory was during her match with Sam. The proper thing would have been to postpone it. Johnny is also being hypocritical accusing Miyagi of being a liar and a thief when he has done the same thing himself (stealing that item of Sid's so that it can be sold for Miguel's surgery).
Johnny doesn't pretend to be a saint though. He was just waking Daniel up to the fact that Miyagi was apparently a liar and a thief. The hypocrisy is irrelevant to the argument he's making because he never feigned innocence.
For those agreeing with Johnny about letting her continue to fight Sam. She was being a little bit reckless. The kids, Amanda and Daniel, were even seeing it by watching how Tory was fighting. She wasn't in the right head space to fight in that moment. She could have hurt Sam or even herself. She was legit holding everything in with grief and anger and wouldn't talk to anyone, including Robby, when he had been trying to reach her since the day before. Daniel and Amanda were more worried about Tory with her mental health and well-being as they should. Yes, Johnny knows what it's like to lose his mom, but don't forget Daniel also knows about loss as well he lost his dad at a young age and then lost Mr. Miyagi later in life, who was another father figure to him. He's just as much of a hot head as Johnny and Tory is. I mean, fighting a punching bag/dummy is one thing to let it all out, but to do a 1 on 1 fight match with another student, no, it wasn't the right time to do that. All it takes is 1 reckless move, and it can injure someone badly. Any of your good athlete coaches in any kind of sport won't let their students practice/compete while they are in a fresh grieving state WITH anger especially in sports like martial arts/boxing/wrestling/gymnastics/certain dance styles/skating/nascar driving the sports that really focuses on having a clear balance focus. Look what happened when Robby was filled with rage when he fought Miguel in season two at the school. All it took was just the 1 kick that sent Miguel into the hospital with a coma and had to relearn on how to walk. At first, Robby was in control during that fight until that rage fully took over and didn't realize what he had just done until right after he did it. He wanted to finish the fight, but he didn't think it would end in that way.

Also, the reason why they were still on bad terms for about a year was because of what happened at the school fight. Also, the apartment fight was the last option to get it out of their system after Johnny tried other tactics first. Tory here literally JUST lost her mom the day before she was in full anger/reckless mode she would have hurt Sam or even herself. If Tory had badly hurt Sam she would feel even more worse especially after they had finally made up and became friends. Also another thing to consider is Sam was in the lead 2-1 during the match. If Tory had lost that match and lost the captain spot she would probably still end up spiraling and still be angry because she would feel like she failed.

It was said in the beginning of the episode that they had 3 days to announce the names of the team captains to the tournament officials, so the day of the fight was the last day. But the question remains why it seems like everyone stopped caring about Tory the moment she left the dojo.

Letting Tory fight in this condition wasn't ideal. If she lost she would feel really bad and they could think she lost bc she was grieving, if she won she would probably hurt Sam really bad bc she was already a little too aggressive.
Crazy story theory: the next set of episodes will cover the time span between the naming of the captains and the start of the tournament, and the final scene will be exactly the same start of the tournament except Kenny will also be revealed as fighting for Cobra Kai. Then the final set of episodes next year will show the tournament and the aftermath.
Won’t be surprised if the next part reveals that the new Cobra Kai was responsible for Tory’s mom’s death (to throw her off balance & make her leave Miyagi-Do) and enforced her doctor to tell her that it was medication to cover their tracks
Not sure I agree with the fight if the girls being stopped. Yeah she was fighting with anger but they.d known that surely before getting any news Tori obviously was well aware . Okay they may bot have k or she was aware so stopped for to tell her. But pick ya moments she may have scored the point then .. and then Then it's up to her to continue. So she only be fitting the same way she normally was before they knew anything. . Still don't know where the other 2 fighters were from Cobra Kai at the end there. Kreese n the Korean woman can't be fighting!

To be fair it wasn't solely Tory's choice. Sam said she didn't want to fight her when she was in that state, so if Sam doesn't consent then they shouldn't. Johnny had a point but he should've taken Tory away and be her opponent if he felt so strongly about it.

I think stopping the fight was correct, given Sam and Torys history. But I don't blame Johnny for questioning whether or not it was favoritism, especially since Daniel showed last episode that he was prepared to take Anthony over Tory.
Daniel briefly let his his bias suggest Anthony but he then immediately knew he was biased and wanted to make it fair. He did not seriously consider Anthony, he never even tried to convince Barnes to pick him. He just told Anthony to do his best. He absolutely did not stop the fight because of favoritism. Sam was literally in the lead anyways

A bunch of mistakes as he would have been both Hideo and Keisuki on his military records. For Cobra Kai they went with Nariyoshi as canon for some reason. This will be tricky for them to explain logically unless they outright state that Hideo is non-canon and thouroughly detail his name changes.

Correction: Spain does have extradition. The crime does not need to be commited in Spain, the crime commited in the other country just needs to also be illegal in Spain. If you murdered someone in the US and fled to Spain, Spain would extradite you.
Exceptions:
Spanish citizens - Spain will typically refuse to extradite. Instead, they'll try them domestically for their crime abroad.
Crime severity - Minor offences (I think anything that wouldn't result in actual jail time) is not extraditable.

My prediction is Johnny will retire from karate at the end of the series with Robby taking over the reigns. The new karate kid movie has Daniel in it, so the Miyagi mystery might lead to what that movie will be about.
Tory's ending is more vague, but I think she might enlist into the military like Kreese. Miguel and Sam will be seen at college. Hawk might take a year off from school to figure out what he wants. Demetri might defer to join Hawk
She wasnt just working it through via fighting ( which can help in a safe enviorment) But she was fighting for her spot as a captain on the team, the only thing she has left and going for her (besides her brother) and she feels they just took it away. I see both sides for sure.

Either Hawk or Robby vs Kwon. In Hawks case, I hope what happens first is that Demetri goes up against Kwon and gets the absolute fuck beat out of him, which could help him realize how much of a cocky dick he's become, and witnessing Demetri get his ass beat would light a fire under Hawk that he's needed since season 5.
Robby is also a good match up for Kwon; The perfect style mix vs the do-whatever-it-takes style.

I could see it being Kreese killed her just so he has a strong reason to be locked away for the rest of his life. Like the writers need a reason that he would go to jail without any chance of getting out again to wrap up the story, and murder would do it.
I know this show can be unrealistic at times, but are we really supposed to believe that no one tried to check up on Tory after she walked away? They know it’s just her and her younger sibling now. I’m assuming there was a funeral, did they not attend? The show makes it seem like they didn’t see her again until she showed up in another country with a fugitive.

Just saw part 3 and it blew the ending. Honestly I thought bringing back Mr Miyagi as a ghost was crossing the line.

They only showed a few members of Cobra Kai, including Tori, so I'm really curious to see if Kenny is going to be another surprise Cobra Kai member in the next batch of episodes. His story is still very clearly not over. I'd say that maybe they'd be cutting back and forth from Barcelona to LA, but I have to imagine all of the LaRussos will be heading to Spain for the tournament, so Anthony most likely wouldn't still be back home to have a B-plot with Kenny. But who knows?
It didn’t hit me the first time, but you guys and everyone else pointed out Miyagi Do didn’t know of Cobra Kai being elsewhere; it may have ended its grip in the valley, but still had a home in Korea!

They're absolutely doing a Miyagi prequel show. It's why they're setting this stuff up. It's a bad idea of course, because no actor exists that will be able to pull it off. But that isn't going to stop them from doing it. Also, Robby and Tory only promised to be together at the end of the tournament. They never promised to stay on the same side or to not change sides. Robby can still go over to Cobra Kai since he was a previous student. Kenny was also MIA but will inevitably be there

Johnny should've stepped in and taken Sam's place and let Tory fight him instead and let her fight Sam later. By that point it wasn't about the captain spot anymore, Tory just needed to get her aggression out, and Johnny, having gone through the same thing himself, would've understood and been the perfect person for her to take that aggression out on. He could've said something like, "You wanna fight, you can fight. But you're going to fight _me_ , not LaRusso. We don't need any more people getting hurt." He knows how to handle himself against aggression, as we saw back in season 3 when he fought against Robby

Lots of Cobra Kai fans are already up in arms about the prospect that Mr. Miyagi had a bad past and did bad things. Many fans are saying that season 6 sucks because of it (and a few other things they disagree with the direction the show has taken).

I’m all on Johnny side, Tory needed to blow steam but because they feared for their precious little princess Sam getting hurt they stop the fight.
I know how Tory and Johnny felt, sometimes the only way to work through painful emotions is with some aggression. I'm still pis*ed no one went after her AND if Johnny felt so strongly he should have sparred with her, cleared her head and THEN fought Sam. The fact Robby didn't run after her still makes my blood boil.

I do not like how badly the writer's nerf Miguel. He was the hero of the story some 4 seasons ago.
Miguel started this, he deserved to be the world champion...
I found Johnny to be a real dick in this episode. He was completely unaware of how unhinged Tory was during her match with Sam. The proper thing would have been to postpone it. Johnny is also being hypocritical accusing Miyagi of being a liar and a thief when he has done the same thing himself (stealing that item of Sid's so that it can be sold for Miguel's surgery).
Johnny doesn't pretend to be a saint though. He was just waking Daniel up to the fact that Miyagi was apparently a liar and a thief. The hypocrisy is irrelevant to the argument he's making because he never feigned innocence.
For those agreeing with Johnny about letting her continue to fight Sam.
She was being a little bit reckless. The kids, Amanda and Daniel, were even seeing it by watching how Tory was fighting. She wasn't in the right head space to fight in that moment. She could have hurt Sam or even herself. She was legit holding everything in with grief and anger and wouldn't talk to anyone, including Robby, when he had been trying to reach her since the day before. Daniel and Amanda were more worried about Tory with her mental health and well-being as they should. Yes, Johnny knows what it's like to lose his mom, but don't forget Daniel also knows about loss as well he lost his dad at a young age and then lost Mr. Miyagi later in life, who was another father figure to him. He's just as much of a hot head as Johnny and Tory is.
I mean, fighting a punching bag/dummy is one thing to let it all out, but to do a
1 on 1 fight match with another student, no, it wasn't the right time to do that. All it takes is 1 reckless move, and it can injure someone badly. Any of your good athlete coaches in any kind of sport won't let their students practice/compete while they are in a fresh grieving state WITH anger especially in sports like martial arts/boxing/wrestling/gymnastics/certain dance styles/skating/nascar driving the sports that really focuses on having a clear balance focus. Look what happened when Robby was filled with rage when he fought Miguel in season two at the school. All it took was just the 1 kick that sent Miguel into the hospital with a coma and had to relearn on how to walk. At first, Robby was in control during that fight until that rage fully took over and didn't realize what he had just done until right after he did it. He wanted to finish the fight, but he didn't think it would end in that way.
Robby and Miguel literally got over their beef because they fought it out. Your point doesn't land.
@@heikira438 When they fought it out in season 5, they were in a better head space compared to when they fought at the end of season 2. Also, the reason why they were still on bad terms for about a year was because of what happened at the school fight. Also, the apartment fight was the last option to get it out of their system after Johnny tried other tactics first. Tory here literally JUST lost her mom the day before she was in full anger/reckless mode she would have hurt Sam or even herself. If Tory had badly hurt Sam she would feel even more worse especially after they had finally made up and became friends. Also another thing to consider is Sam was in the lead 2-1 during the match. If Tory had lost that match and lost the captain spot she would probably still end up spiraling and still be angry because she would feel like she failed.

Letting Tory fight in this condition wasn't ideal. If she lost she would feel really bad and they could think she lost bc she was grieving, if she won she would probably hurt Sam really bad bc she was already a little too aggressive.
Crazy story theory: the next set of episodes will cover the time span between the naming of the captains and the start of the tournament, and the final scene will be exactly the same start of the tournament except Kenny will also be revealed as fighting for Cobra Kai. Then the final set of episodes next year will show the tournament and the aftermath.
Won’t be surprised if the next part reveals that the new Cobra Kai was responsible for Tory’s mom’s death (to throw her off balance & make her leave Miyagi-Do) and enforced her doctor to tell her that it was medication to cover their tracks
