    This is super cool. I had the same type of laptop but just with an amd a4 cpu instead of the higher end a6 or a8, but it wasn’t good enough to be worth upgrading

    Nice video. Some of the heat might be from the Ram and SSD in addition to the cpu and the laptop being open might not let it get the best cooling that is possible

    Yes my wife bought a toshiba laptop just like that nearly 10 years ago. She thought she was getting a bargain, but amd E low-end whatever processor in there was so sluggish out of box it was a torture to use. Unfortunately the cpu is soldered to motherboard so you cannot upgrade the cpu and end of story.

    I have an old Acer Aspire Series e1-471 laptop, don't know what I'd upgraded bit the CPU can be changed and the Ram can go to 8gb, but idk if it can go to 16gb once upgrading the CPU. And I have no idea what CPU I'd upgrade it with.

      No idea if the CPU over there is soldered but if it is soldered, you have no luck in upgrading the CPU.

      @@CEBph5997 well you could find out what socket your processor is sitting on first, the generation of the CPU may be a hint.

    I enjoyed the video, and I am not joking or making fun. Simply just sharing an observation. When he tells his plans at the start it made me think of Stewie discussing with Brian about the novel he's been working on.

    I have got old toshiba satellite a500-17x laptop, I can only upgrade it to 8GB and I can't upgrade more than that. So I'm thinking about upgrade the motherboard, CPU and RAM but the problem is I would not be able to change the RAM, hard drive on the laptop bottom base and I would not be able to change the battery if I upgrade the motherboard. Can you help me with what I need to do before I start doing it??

    • @ElectronicsWizardry
      @ElectronicsWizardry  2 роки тому +1

      Normally you can’t swap the motherboard on a laptop to one of a different model as all laptops have a different size and mounting ports for the motherboard. Unfortunately if you want to upgrade a laptop more than included board allowed your out of luck.

      @@ElectronicsWizardry would it be possible to 3d print a custom laptop shell that would fit the motherboard?

      @ElectronicsWizardry  Рік тому +1

      I’m sure it’s possible to 3d print a case that would work. I currently have a limited knowledge of 3d printing and modeling but it seems to be within the build area of many common printers. Thanks for this idea I may incorporate it into a future video.
