While i think the 1st one had better humor and development of side characters etc.. Imo the 2nd one had more relatable messages and themes. The many tiny messages it talks about are a lot more poignant than the one in the first one. Watevra Wa'nabi is just the gift/heart that Finn gave to Bianca, and Bianca cherished it so much she built her entire playworld around that gift. And naming her Watevra Wa'nabi because when Finn gave Bianca the heart, he said it could be "whatever you want it to be," and her being little, she took it literally. It also shows how much she looks up to her brother. The bomb hearts saying things like "Hello", "I love you" and genuinely being nice and giving compliments is because Bianca just wants to play with Finn. But from Finns perspective Bianca is destroying everything and sees it as an attack. The systarians being bad at communicating is representing the sister being bad at communicating she wants to play with her brother. It makes sense as siblings aren't great at communicating with one another, and the lego characters/Bianca is aware of that. General Mayhem(Bianca) tried wearing a mask and talking tough as she thought it was the only way to get Finn to listen. It isn't until the end when the mask/helmet comes off and she openly talks to them that Wyldstyle believes her, which is a point of the movie that being "tough" in that way isnt truly tough, but by opening up yourself/being vulnerable and kind can anything truly work out. The Queens song "Not Evil" is essentially the sister saying, "Please let me play with you. I promise I won't mess anything up" and giving Finns lego some stuff as an apology and gesture of peace, and Finn not trusting her or giving her a chance. Emmet's world is a representation of the brother's imagination, and to him, his annoying sister is the embodiment of evil, but all she wants to do is play. I highly recommend watching the cinemawins video on this movie as he talks about them.

“Cleopatra from Clone High specifically!” “Abe Lincoln from Clone High specifically!” I mean considering who the directors are… yeah, that’s actually pretty accurate.
Um actually the movie is dark and depressing there is no awesomeness in the movie until 1 hour 43 minutes and 18 seconds scene 42 when Wild-style figures out that she’s part of the team 🤓
It's strange, for me the film hit a lot harder as someone with a younger sister (as well as younger cousins): the inherent tension between a younger sibling trying to connect with an older one with a younger understanding of their interests was spot on. The realisation that the "invasion" was the younger sister just wanting to play with her big brother in a language she thought the older brother would appreciate using the cutesy tools she had available hit me like a ton of bricks. Plus there's the whole "trying to act mature when you aren't is itself an act of immaturity", with them even quoting a C. S. Lewis essay. Plus there's all the challenging of masculinity & femininity in the Lego minifigs vs Lego Friends, which is something the company itself crashed into as toy line that originally prided itself on being for everyone suddenly started segregating itself into "boy" & "girl" lines. It might not be as sublime as the first film, but I think it has a lot more going on than the dudes give it credit for.

Pretty sure the reason all the live action stuff is shot so poorly is because they wanted it to resemble a home movie in the same spirit of making all of the Legos animated to resemble stop motion. Though it really doesn't have the same effect as the later. Also strange to do that here when they didn't do it in the first one. Just makes it jarring.
WHAT.. THE ACTUAL... F? Today I watched this movie for the third time because I absoultely love it and I see this shit of a video and the comments, most of them saying it's a bad movie. In WHAT WORLD is this a bad movie? It literally goes up to perfection, if you asked me to say smth bad about it, I just couldn't. And don't take me with "10 year old kid" cause I'm 19. The music, the visuals, the story, the easter eggs, the plot, the voice acting, the moral of the story, the credits and everything else in between is absolute perfection!
Not to trauma dump in #general but I took my really toxic ex who was really into dark academia to see this movie on valentine's day because tickets were 5 dollars, and there wasn't really anything else to do or see around town. I took her out to dinner as well, but looking back even this was way more than she deserved
This is literally the most upset I've ever seen Kor be at any piece of media lmao. The Lego Movie 2 wasn't as good as the 1st, but it wasn't bad either.. just very.. very cheesy.
not as much of this made it into the final cut, but I find a lot of the decisions in this movie really undermine things from the first so it annoys me more than something that's just outright terrible
@@SpillingTheMilk That's true, it kind of made it needlessly dramatic in parts too when the 1st movie was so much more fun. Also oh my gosh I got a reply! :D ! Love the content you guys, keep it up!
Even if The Lego Movie 2 is not as good as the original, it has a special place in my heart, and it helped me get thru 2020 when i first watched it. And the songs kinda slap ngl - i think the only time the movie made me cringe was Batman rapping and him flossing. Other than that, solid movie, 8.5/10
idk why but I want them to watch stuff from my childhood. some examples are The Iron Giant, Over the Hedge, Wall-E, A Goofy Movie, Lilo & Stitch, the OG Lion King (the 2D one), Spaceballs, and Akira. I think that the best reactions though would just be from the Micheal Bay Transformers movies. The reason why is because the plots are either dog shit or mid and the fact that it's literally just giant robots beating the shit out of each other and killing each other in gruesome ways.
Slop delivered much like Pyrocynical 10/10 would bend. Anyway, PLEASE I want someone to make a compilation of some of the times Kor has suffered or sperged out in a grand hilarious unhinged, unfiltered way like with Family Guy and Hbo max Harley Quinn. Can't get enough of it. We've seen Eden take a tumble for not knowing references and him going off the wall. It's based Kor's turn, gotta admire his rants and this one was very entertaining yet spot-on milkers. Truly the most legendary Korrant so far. You can see why most people prefer either Lego Batman or Lego movie 1 over 2.
You know what you guys should watch next; you should watch both the 1971 & 2005 versions of Charlie and the chocolate factory and debate with one was better.
1:57 While they can't control people customizing stuff, until pretty recently LEGO was actually pretty stern about never making official sets about "realistic" war and/or referencing overly violent political statements, to the point they avoided certain shades of gray and green associated with camo on bricks. They've let up a little since they've gotten the Star Wars IP, but thats a lot of "fantasy" violence so its ok apparently.
I actually still really like this movie. Idk why they had such a bad time with it. weird. also I still listen to The Simon and Garfunkel version of everything is awesome and super cool to this day.
From what I've seen, it's because: The humor went down a notch and was trying to copy the first movies jokes instead of doing its own thing. Too many live action sequences It's a musical Twists were predictable and obvious It felt it was geared more towards kids and felt babyish compared to the first one, which was a great balance of it being meant for adults. The pacing is awful, and it takes a while to get to the actual plot, and even then, it drags in the middle. I personally love this movie slightly more than the first one, and I'm only typing what I've seen on why people don't like it.
"I can't believe they got Chris Cunnington to be the stereoscopic supervisor Timothy Smith is my favorite producer I just came to see this movie for the associate producer" 😂😂😂
Dude I watched this movie with my family when it first came out. I was 14 at the time. The movie finished and my mom said “that was good. Way better than the first one” all I had to say was “mom, that was the worst movie I’ve ever seen” lol
I actually like this one more than the first. Lego Batman is still my favorite, though. Also, the ice cream and vampire are voiced by people from IT Crowd. XD

0:57 as a korean i combusted into pieces (REAL)
Pretty sure the reason all the live action stuff is shot so poorly is because they wanted it to resemble a home movie in the same spirit of making all of the Legos animated to resemble stop motion. Though it really doesn't have the same effect as the later. Also strange to do that here when they didn't do it in the first one. Just makes it jarring.
I need ninjago specifically for the reaction to the caged monkey scene 💀
0:58
It’s actually Korean subtitles and it said: A crazy man approaching a monster
I love how whenever they watch musicals Kor just explodes
9:28 That laugh made me question his mental health
13:49 the moment Kor screamed, the wifi went down for a second on my end. perfect timing
Peak
Someone should put together all of the LEGO Star Wars cutscenes from all of the games and make the movies all in Lego.
Friggin shweet. Spillingthemilk content uploaded at 10:48 my time. You love to see it.
I’m surprised how they didn’t react how Ben Schwartz is in this movie
Well, in this one, it’s not *especially* obvious that it’s Ben Schwartz voicing The Banana
@@one-onessadhalf3393That’s true, but it's a fact you think chat would've pointed out for them.
Not to trauma dump in #general but I took my really toxic ex who was really into dark academia to see this movie on valentine's day because tickets were 5 dollars, and there wasn't really anything else to do or see around town. I took her out to dinner as well, but looking back even this was way more than she deserved
Dark academia?
Love them talking against China, even though that was Korean and not Chinese subtitles lol
lmao
i thought it was a joke for second because i read comments and no one mentioned it's Korean but talk about Chinese part only🤨
Maya Rudolph plays like every mom ever
This is literally the most upset I've ever seen Kor be at any piece of media lmao. The Lego Movie 2 wasn't as good as the 1st, but it wasn't bad either.. just very.. very cheesy.
not as much of this made it into the final cut, but I find a lot of the decisions in this movie really undermine things from the first so it annoys me more than something that's just outright terrible
*Very wholesome and cool things happen* *Kor whining about nothing*
@@SpillingTheMilk That's true, it kind of made it needlessly dramatic in parts too when the 1st movie was so much more fun. Also oh my gosh I got a reply! :D ! Love the content you guys, keep it up!
The CHEESE is the best part
Atleast moral lesson is good
Fun fact: the voices behind Cleopathra and Aberham Lincon are they same voice actors in clone high
Three groan men get angry at a harmless film for 18 minutes
three groan men
@@SpillingTheMilkOh God😂
@@SpillingTheMilkgroan men
We've reached the point in the timeline where three basement nepo babies are more entertaining than the actual movie.
"we've got chinese subtitles?"
*shows korean*

Uhhh... why dose this have 1 view...

Lemme fix dat fr
Fixed
2 minutes here in Argentina
UA-cam doesn't update the views that much
As a younger sister, I love this movie. I found it to be pretty relatable
Don't forget message 😊
idk why but I want them to watch stuff from my childhood. some examples are The Iron Giant, Over the Hedge, Wall-E, A Goofy Movie, Lilo & Stitch, the OG Lion King (the 2D one), Spaceballs, and Akira. I think that the best reactions though would just be from the Micheal Bay Transformers movies. The reason why is because the plots are either dog shit or mid and the fact that it's literally just giant robots beating the shit out of each other and killing each other in gruesome ways.
8:47 kkk batman is crazzzyyy 😭😭😭
"Why are there chinese subtitles"
The subtitles: korean
And there goes Jack's chances of suggesting a show/movie for a while.
0:59 how tf do you mix up Korean with Chinese 😭
This is what happens when you don’t cast Morgan Freeman as a blind wizard
Finally It never fails right when I need to laugh you guys post a vid
I love how all three of them immediately turn on the movie the second the characters started singing. Lmao
I really enjoyed this movie.
It reminded me of how I was with my sister when we played together.
micheal jackson lego: nah its the dollar store twilight series
You know what you guys should watch next; you should watch both the 1971 & 2005 versions of Charlie and the chocolate factory and debate with one was better.
Critically the original is better
@@finalmountain by faithfulness,the 2005 film is better
16:06 :( When *i* saw it like 2 weeks ago, this was the funniest bit of the movie. The little "pt" when it explodes
11:26 your editors must have the weirdest search history
I love how I get so invested in movie just to be derailed by the chaos the 3 milkinos cause
Bro really thought the korean text was Chinese text 💀
1:57 While they can't control people customizing stuff, until pretty recently LEGO was actually pretty stern about never making official sets about "realistic" war and/or referencing overly violent political statements, to the point they avoided certain shades of gray and green associated with camo on bricks.
They've let up a little since they've gotten the Star Wars IP, but thats a lot of "fantasy" violence so its ok apparently.
I WANT the oppenheimer lego set!!
Damnit, you missed the opportunity to say “We watched the second Lego movie and everything was awesome”
everything was NOT awesome!!
@@SpillingTheMilk Then it should’ve been “We watched the Lego Movie 2 and everything was NOT awesome”
I actually still really like this movie. Idk why they had such a bad time with it. weird. also I still listen to The Simon and Garfunkel version of everything is awesome and super cool to this day.
I think the story is actually really solid and pretty well thought out
Thank god Universal has the rights to the Lego movies now. Now we have the privilege to see peak characters such as Minons and Shrek in Lego form
I remember watching this movie! AND I WAS HAPPY WATCHING EVERY SECOND OF IT!
This movie predicted barbenheimer 4 years ago
This movie is no where near the first one but still is better than most kids entertainment
What i really don't understand: why do people find the second part not better than the first part? Can somebody please tell me🙏😭
From what I've seen, it's because:
The humor went down a notch and was trying to copy the first movies jokes instead of doing its own thing.
Too many live action sequences
It's a musical
Twists were predictable and obvious
It felt it was geared more towards kids and felt babyish compared to the first one, which was a great balance of it being meant for adults.
The pacing is awful, and it takes a while to get to the actual plot, and even then, it drags in the middle.
I personally love this movie slightly more than the first one, and I'm only typing what I've seen on why people don't like it.
Oh, and also, people don't like how the side characters from the first movie were sidelined in this one.
@@gtd5626 don't forget that it doesn't have the same energy, as the first one
i must say....that text at the beginning was not chinese...it was korean😭😭
9:56 Me on mobile who literally CANNOT speed bridge: 😎😎
Sucks how This movie didn’t live up to the first one
But it's still good
The woman that voices the hormone monster is also the judge from the good place
Really just want them to watch all of Lego ninjago now
She's also the judge in The Good Place (good show btw)
Y'all should've been there live I've never seen kor go off on a movie as hard as this
the glitter ice vampire guy had me in the sweats ngl
The best part of Lego Movie 2 was the credits. (i'm half joking, the credits have jokes and junk sprinkled in them if you listen.)
"I can't believe they got Chris Cunnington to be the stereoscopic supervisor
Timothy Smith is my favorite producer
I just came to see this movie for the associate producer"
😂😂😂
What about the moral lesson
Dude I watched this movie with my family when it first came out. I was 14 at the time. The movie finished and my mom said “that was good. Way better than the first one” all I had to say was “mom, that was the worst movie I’ve ever seen” lol
It is still a good movie depote the music. All the songs were unironically really good.
I actually like this one more than the first. Lego Batman is still my favorite, though. Also, the ice cream and vampire are voiced by people from IT Crowd. XD
I wish I knew what your final thoughts on the movie were, cause I honestly can't tell I you hated it or not
when shes all up on your brick and everything is awesome
