Some of those old school race clips look like Chertsey BMX track, Addlestone moor. Local to me. Loved that place since i was about 8. Used to go ride it on and off over all the years it has existed on my BMX as a kid and on a jump/4× bike and take the kids to ride pitbikes over there as an adult when it was unused and unloved. Used to love starting right on top of the first berm and doing the last straight with the tabletop and 3 rollers at the end i used to roll the first one and jump the last two, or triple them occasionally when my balls felt big! I think there's 5 or 6 rollers there now. I'm 49 now and too gassed out to rip round there on a pushbike nowadays! It's so good that it never disappeared and is back up and running as a proper track again. Not been over there for a couple of years, I'll have to have a look. Haven't ridden BMX for a long long time, but took my young bro everywhere to all the spots on his as a kid and spent a small fortune on bikes, parts and travelling. He got really good, and went on to earn a few sponsors and video parts and great riding experiences. Don't consider myself a BMXer but still love the scene and have supported it and loved since day one. Cool documentary Source! This old git enjoyed this. BMX seems in a difficult time at the moment, but it will always be there whatever. Hastings is the Mecca of BMX in the UK and always will be.
Great story guys. I used to race in 1983 on a small scale and can relate to the passion. I've watched some of your competitions in the park and had no idea of the story behind it or you and Source. This is a cracking documentary that will go viral in no time. Awesome work!
Im a old skool BMX racer aswell i raced with Ross Hill i was in all his race's around the south west of the UK and Kye Forte and his bro's was young then they looked up to Ross he was there role model at the time
The bmx world needs more knowledge and videos of the history and culture like this. This is rad. Can't wait for part 2!
🙏
stay tuned for my documentary on Colony!
