    So it is more a pain reliever. Sometimes, we do need to relieve our pain when needed.

      Hi Whatevergoesforme, yes it can assist with pain relief by compression and can provide some stability for the knee. It's important to note that if you are interested in trying it out purchase it from a store that has a good return policy. What works for one person may not work for another but we do think it is worth a try if you are experiencing a lot of discomfort.

    When to start quad exercises? Also how do we know that condromalacia patella has healed properly even when the pain is gone ?

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  22 дні тому

      Hi Yas, you can start quad exercises once you can confidently feel that your glutes are strengthened. You can tell as you will have a reduction in pain. The signs you can look for in chondromalacia patella recovery is a reduction in pain, increased mobility, reduction in swelling, improved strength, and a return to activities.

    The strap did not work for me at all when I was running decades ago. If you're having pain while running or jumping, stop doing those activities. Your body is telling you that injury is occurring. If you persist in doing those activities, you may become physically impared when you are much older.

    My right knee “exploded” last Wednesday evening, felt like I got shot in the back of the knee and the front “exploded” outwards?! It is miserable and they have so far not done an mri,not sure how I can make them if they refuse?! My right knee has “hyperextended” 16x in the last 5months, 9x in the last two weeks before it exploded! My right hip has “popped” at least half of the times and hurts so bad.
    Whether I am seated, standing or laying down my right knee feels like it wants to “hyperextend”, whether I am still, moving or completely still it feels like it’s gonna collapse backwards.
    I have/had “oz Goode slaughter” disease in both knees, unfortunately while I was in the sixth grade my mother took me to a chiropractor whom proceeded to hit both my knees as hard as he could with his “medial hammer”?! I had to stop him and my mother the next time she took me, because the adults were gonna hit my knees again with a hammer?!
    I have 5tears in my right hip, 6tears in my left hip, both my knees are fissuring severely left knee has torn “gastrocnemius” right the main “meniscus” has degenerated and doesn’t exist any longer (that was according to last mri 2022 or 2023, before the “explosion” wed night)
    They want to send me to PT and I don’t necessarily disagree it’s just that I can’t walk, stand or sit currently and it all seems to be collapsing my pelvis the longer it goes and I forcefully stand?!
    Love this channel dr, thank U so much for providing such wonderful knowledge and wisdom for the people, what a blessing.
    My body is collapsing and I cannot stand it or stop it much longer, not sure what anybody suppose to do aboot it but it hurts.
