@@angelswings7024 yeah same, I went to Belmore sportsground once or twice for football and when I lived at Marrickville I went to the area around Marrickville Station for food a couple of Times but I basically never caught this line, as a Metro I probably would have used it more because its faster and more frequent and there will probably be a lot more useful amenities built along the line in the near future.
From the age of 8 until 21, I lived in Lakemba which in the part that I lived in was eventually re-zoned as Roselands. When I first started work, I caught the train from Lakemba to Town Hall and return every weekday for 4 1/2 years. Your trip brought back a lot of nice childhood memories for me. Thanks for making this.

they will probably should preserve the original bankstown station office buildings once it's demolised. because I believe it keeps the history of this station going for future generations of knowing what station this was and what it looked like back then.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I lived in Belmore for about 18 months and used the train regularly - I always loved the station building too. At one point in the 1890s it was actually the terminus of the line. Looking forward to the good residents there having an even better metro service!

Hi Phil, thanks for another awesome video. Amazingly enough, when I was living on the Bankstown line, all Liverpool trains used to run via the inner west line. After Bankstown, the train used to go to Lidcolme and then head back into the city via the inner west line. So, it seems that Liverpool services will be running as they did back in the 1970s and early 1980s. just wondering what will happen to the station staff here after everything closes down. Catching the second last day of service is quite a good plan, as the trains are seen running their usual service with the normal number of passengers using them. It may be quite different on the last day. I am still finding it daunting seeing all this take place, especially when the area is so familiar to me. The ravens at Campsie sound like they are already mourning the train line!!! Well done including the freight trains there. There are certainly a lot more high-rise buildings at Canterbury than what I remember of when I was last there. With the light rail at Dulwich Hill, this will be a good alternative for passengers, especially during the closure. Anyway, wishing you all the very best. Rob in Melbourne Australia.

I have several variations of train video recordings over the past few months on the T3 Bankstown line, as well as photos of each of the train stations from Birrong to Erskineville inclusively. Alas, I live in one of the two suburbs which don't have a direction train service to the city. Maybe a consolation is to have connections to one of the other major CBDs, Parramatta, from Bankstown (that did exist in the past, by the way).
I took the graffiti train shown at 6:33 from Punchbowl to Lidcombe today 2.5 hours of the Bankstown line showcase memorial and definitely not happy that the Bankstown line is closing
It was a wise decision to do the tripping on the second last day, because that way you get the photos you want and most of the video too. It will be interesting to see how much things change over the next 5 to 10 years despite the protests from the locals about overdevelopment. Bankstown could do with a regeneration so could some other suburbs in the area. Maybe the metro will just be the catalyst. 😊

😭😭😭😭I grew up in Bankstown got the train to school work etc end of an era but for the last 50 years they have been talking about moving the railway station to where the metro station platforms are going to be now
I thought I was never gonna see a Bankstown line train today where I went to Central but lucky I did and I saw the train in the end. I got the train departing at Central. It was a Liverpool service that was my second last of the final trains for me out of platform 22 at Central what is gonna happen to platform 22 during the 12 month shutdown at central? Sadly I'm not gonna be attending the last train. I'm gonna be watching the last train from the TV at home but I might do a clip through the TV and I've also convinced a plan that next Friday I'm gonna try and get it Southwest Link bus so I can fill up my Bankstown line playlist since currently I've only got 12 videos in there. I need to chuck in more and today at central this morning someone was playing a piano. You recognise that at Central before because I haven't seen someone playing a Sydney trains piano before. This is my first time in my whole entire life. You should have gone to central that this morning that I was trying to get to the Metro and it was running nine minutes late everything was problematic and late today which made me so angry.
I wonder if they will use the normal buses for the station link buses or weirdly those pink buses used for the odd normal services…. Wonder if there has been incidences where a station link bus used for a normal service or vice versa during the ecrl thingy? Also I guess transit system and u-go will share the allocation of the rail replacement? Was cdc and transdev for ecrl I recall? (CDC had the cooler and slightly bigger sized one compared to transdev one). Wonder if bus design will differ by companies

And what alternative is being offered to citizens to use this route? Have they put in place a bus line running the route in parallel?
If you look back at the early part of the video, there's mention of the 'Pink' buses which will replace the trains until the new Metro line will open.
