Wow!!! I learned so much!! Thank you!! You are easy for me to understand and follow. I may need to watch this 20 times to fully implement all the lessons. I'm totally new to Printify & Etsy and I will do everything I can to follow along with you to learn more. Seriously Appreciate your lessons. Lori H
OMG! I have watched other videos, and I don't know if I was overthinking it but you explained this much better. I like starting in Printify and creating the design FIRST and then Etsy and going from there. I was getting confused with the group listing with various designs and how Printify would know which design goes to which color. Thank you!
I wanted to say I have appreciated your channel so much! You have a great way of delivering a ton of information without making it overwhelming, or worse, boring.😊 I have design experience so I'm so excited about opening my POD store. There is way more to learn than I imagined but I'm taking time get get my ducks in a row so I get a great start thanks to you. I do have one dilemma that I'm wrestling with and I'd like someone with your experience to weigh in honestly. I just have SO many ideas!! Like all the time lol. It's the designer in me. And I had a clear direction for my store and theme. BUT....shiny object syndrome I guess. I have some really good ideas but they do NOT fit with my original plan. So...hold them back and eventually have an anything nd everything store? Or manage multiple stores? Which I can't even imagine as POD is the second business I'm starting this year🤪
Hey Mandy, thanks for sharing this video. Isn't there a way to create the finished listings in Printify, each with its own design? And then set up one listing in Etsy with multiple SKUs for the different designs so that the customer can choose their unique design from a dropdown list just like the size and color?
Mandy, you explain very, very well. Can you please make another detailed video that explains and shows how you break down niches? I - and many others for sure - have really big problems with this.
Totally agree! Quite often I will look at what’s out there within a particular theme and then niche down with it by adding personalization to it like a specific year, a specific location, the option for a name, etc. Those are all things I can use for title keywords too so it can help narrow down the competition volume. I will also sometimes type in my theme into Creative Fabrica and look for design ideas that I can then turn into a more niche-specific design.
Question: If a customer wants to customize the product for say a soccer team with 10 players and wants the players numbers on the back how would that work?
Hi Mandy. Is there a way to make a group listing with two shirt colors (or even just one), where they have about 20 options for phrases to choose from in variations, but also have the option to customize (choose) their own phrase instead of picking what is offered? How is this done? This is how I see group listing variations listed when I am doing my market research. Thanks!
Hi Mandy, I want to know how I can connect various colors to multiple items in one listing. I.e. the print provider doesn't offer the exact same colors for various items. How do I set this up in Etsy? I hope you can shed a light on this. Have a great day, Mirjam
Im trying to figure out how to tie the two different variations on Printify with my Etsy listing. I was with you up until you started updating on the Etsy side, but I must have gotten lost after you created your custom variations. I didn’t see where how you differentiated between the designs in the variations or how you linked those variations to the two different ones on Printify. Basically, if I have a white text shirt and a black text shirt on the same listing, do I type that in on the variations section, along with the size and colors, then just copy/paste the corresponding SKU’s like I would in a solo listing? I feel like this is something pretty simple, but no one’s been very clear on that part that I’ve found.
@@wendyR1 I’ve been doing it for awhile now and it’s really not as difficult as I thought. Basically, you would set up your variations like this: Shirt Color - Text Color Blue - Black Blue - White Red - Black Red - White ETC…… Then make sure before you save you toggle the “switch” that says “Listings Vary by SKU”. Should be the third one down. Then you need to open up two windows on your computer. Open your Etsy listings where you have your SKU’s and Printify to your Black Text design. Then you have to Copy/Paste all of the SKU’s for that color. When you’re done, do the same for the White Text design. Hope that helps a little. Good luck
Hi, i found you yesterday honestly by accident but i am impressed about things that you speak about. I've seen a lot of videos about etsy but from you i've heard a lot new things no one else said before. Are you making also audits of shops?
I currently have audits on pause while I’ve been building this channel and a few other projects. I plan to make them available again in the near future though 😊
hi there, I am so confused on the whole how to price items in my new shop. Do I adjust my price in etsy to what I want to sell it for and if I want to pad in the shipping to the item cost so the shipping looks lower. How do I do that?
Hi! I want to to a listing for a group, there are 2 “motifs” and different sizes, but in Etsy i can only select the SKU for the sizes OR the motif. So, i am not sure what to do? I am new to this. Thsnks in advance:)
Hey, Mandy. I watched this video for several times, but I am thinking of Would it be too late to design Bachelorette Niches now? I am ready for some group listings, but I'm worried if it's too late……
Not at all! Wedding season is popular right now, but people are getting married and having bach parties throughout the year, so there is no wrong time for that niche 😊
What I can’t figure out, is how to price my group listings, for example, bachelorette shirts. I’ve noticed that most of the top sellers have extremely low prices per shirt AND they have Free Shipping. And yes, they’re doing POD. Even their sizes L and XL are very low, so it’s not just a “loss leader” price. Can anyone explain how on earth to compete with those prices and free shipping? I’m not sure how they make a profit? All the top POD UA-camrs say that group listings are where the money is at! But how??
I see that most sellers offer for all of their listings different types of shirts within 1 listing - adult, youth, toddler and baby. What if 1 customer orders 1 item for adult and 1 for baby and only different providers offer them?
If a customer buys products that are coming from separate providers I typically just message them and let them know that I work with multiple printing partners and that they’re items will arrive separately 😊 Some providers have them all, it just depends on the product.
Yep! Whenever I do customizable listings I always make sure to remove the SKU. Since my store is connected it will automatically connect all orders, and removing the SKU ensures that it goes to the Other Orders tab vs getting mixed in with regular orders and I can easily see which ones need to be worked on 😊
I typically don’t for groups, it’s a lot of extra work and can easily get messed up in the process - instead you can just grab the product when an order comes in and connect it to the order. If it’s personalized you wouldn’t want skus in there either because you don’t want them to get mixed in with regular orders. Without skus they will just go to the “other orders” tab 😊
Group listing is scary for me, I don't know why. I get really stressed out with choosing a color and how many I should offer so I find that depending on the design I offer more color. I'm curious on how many color shirts you offer.
Typically no more than 6 colors is the best practice. Customers will have the same buying indecision as you have with creating. It’s essentially decision fatigue where too many options result in a customer skipping the sale altogether because they’re going to “think about the options”, but once they click away it’s harder to get them back 🤓 Give it a try! It’s not as scary as it seems and you’ll get more comfortable with the process the more you do it 💜
@@studiomdesignsco Thank you! how long does it take for your order to show up on the "other orders" tab? i finally did this and I got an order and it's been over 5 hours and it sill not showing up. Just wondering how long it takes for you to see it there. I talked to the agent and they said usually 2 hours. 🙁
Yay on the sale!! 🎉🎉 Normally two hours is about right, there’s been a weird Etsy delay lately so it’s taking longer than normal for a lot of people. It’ll eventually show up though! 😊

Check out my Niche Basics video - it breaks down my process for niches in detail 😊
Great advice. I love you for sharing all of this.
Do you have a specific video on personalized listings and what happens after you get an order? Trying to find it!
The hardest part about all this is finding designs that will stand out against the competition and sell.
