I know that Piccolo finally got a form, 2 at that. But before that, i was still pretty baffled that King Kai never taught the other Z Warriors (that was on his planet) the Kaioken. Piccolo's base was already like ssj2 or 3 level so he was already strong. But it wouldve been great if Krillin, DEFINITELY TIEN, and even Yamcha learned how to use it. It wouldve been a great substitute since they can't go super saiyan, or have the Potential Unleashed forms like Gohan and Piccolo has.
Agreed, they definitely could’ve expanded upon Kaioken more than what we’ve seen Goku do. Him moving up the Super Saiyan chain would have let the others step into the spotlight and tap into higher multipliers
@@InnovativeJdawg yes!! You know what would've been a great Saga to do this in? The Cell Saga. Actually 2 specific part where it would've made sense. During the 3 year training gap. Once they realized that they were easily disposed of in the future, by the Androids, it should've motivated them (especially Tien) as fighters. No to mention, during the Saiyan Saga, the last time they prepared for a major threat, they were easily wiped out then. And when Freeza and King Cold arrived, they were all beyond scared. This would've been great motivation to have Goku teleport them to King Kai's place. Another genius moment would've been after Cell ecame perfect and bodied Krillin, Vegeta and then Trunks. Krillin and Tien would have reflected on how they were both completely useless to take on Cell. Krillin having the Destructo Disk literally not doing anything to faze Cell, and Tien being just enough to hold Cell in place. Not really causing any damage whatsoever. This would've been another great moment to reflect on how serious the threat was. Especially, especially when Goku even admitted "yeah if I fought Cell, he'd flatten me." God... man that would've been great lol
A bit off topic, but when it was explained that Goku wouldn't be able to stack things on UI like super saiyan because it requires a calm mind. Why would he not be able to use Kaioken or SSG? Imagine the efficiency of UI turning on kaioken for just the instant of the impact of each hit, flashing red for a split second. That would be so cool.
15:10 One route I could imagine this going is if fusions are pushed more to the forefront. Let's assume that Gogeta and Vegito can pull off all of Goku's and Vegeta's techniques, which is far from absurd given that Gotenks can almost routinely go SSJ3 while neither Goten nor Trunks has even reached SSJ2 yet. In that case, there's 2 things that come to mind: - Fusions are so strong that an opponent even pushing them to an Ultra form would be terrifying. However, with all of Goku's and Vegeta's techniques, a fusion using SSJBE and it not quite being enough is much more reasonable. And as explained by animators, SSJBE is even better of a counterbalance to Kaio-Ken's self-destructive potential than regular SSJB is. A fusion using SSJBE Kaio-Ken x20 against a particularly strong opponent is absolutely not off limits. - Now, once we move past that and some seriously terrifyingly strong opponents take center stage, the combination of Goku's and Vegeta's techniques yields another match made in heaven, but it's a bit different. A big point during this video is that Kaio-Ken puts some serious stress on the user's body. Now, if only there was a way to turn that downside into a massive edge... What's that? Ultra Ego gets stronger the more damage you take? Yeah, that's right! With the constant strain of Kaio-Ken on the durable body of a fusion, the power of Ultra Ego would absolutely skyrocket. Add the multiplier from the Kaio-Ken itself, and you have a serious menace at hand. In fact, I'm pretty sure that looking up "ultra ego kaioken" and landing on one of your videos instead is how I came across your channel. It's just so potent of a concept that I can't believe no one made a video on it yet. I kinda see that as more of a Vegito thing than a Gogeta thing, honestly, as I've seen several statements (that I agree with) saying that Vegito is closer to Vegeta's personality than to Goku's, particularly in terms of arrogance.
part of me wonders what multiplier of raw kaioken goku could handle now. like could he go something crazy like kaioken x 1000? not that it'd be relevant on any power scale, lol.
Thanks for this video dude because now I have a better understanding of kioken but if ssj is a 50 times multiplier that means that kioken times 100 is much stronger and equal to ssj2 so it's weaker than ssj3😅
Thanks glad you liked it! Also yeah, in terms of raw power, Kaioken could equal the different Super Saiyan forms. However, it causes strain on the body and the Saiyan forms don’t. So even if it seems like they’re equal to each other, there’s some drawbacks to using the Kaioken in higher multipliers
2:33 If they’re the same, why did King Kai had specify not to go more than double when using the Kaio-Ken? Why not just say “Don’t go more no more than the regular level.” To me, that implies there’s a level below double - perhaps meaning that x1.5 everyone speculates about. Plus, if Vegeta can annihilate Dodoria and only being 2,000 points stronger than him, I’m fairly certain Goku at 12,000 could paralyze Nappa. It just makes sense to me (and it’s cooler) that you can go through the levels like that and not start at immediately doubled. And if King Kai were to teach it, I’d imagine he’d want to teach a degree of control (like having a normal level of Kaio-ken) before going full double. Of course, I’ll also mention the anime (sub and dub) where Goku emphasizes x2 over just saying the word. Still, awesome video and definitely happy to know about the games and SSB x20

It's possible that there COULD be a lower multiplier, but in terms of what we've actually seen in the original manga, it's only ever implied that the Kaioken is a straight up double multiplication and anything less wouldn't really be interesting. Toriyama is a straightforward and simple mangaka, it was probably just easier for him to say "don't go over double the power" and run with that.
@ InnovativeJdawg True with Toriyama. Though in the same instance, he does write by the seat of his pants and does forget a lot of his own work. So it’s at least possible he forgot how Kaio-Ken worked when he was informing his editors or something. I personally prefer regular Kaio-ken being a x1.5 multiplier just simply because of the dialogue.

Maybe? True Ultra Instinct would likely be the most possible of any version of UI, since it allows Goku to incorporate emotions into it all, which would work well with Kaioken

No, there’s no such thing as Kaioken x1 and it was never implied that there was. The narrator in the manga even says he “DOUBLED” his power before he ever even started saying Kaioken with the numbers.
@chrislabedzski9076 If Kaioken "x1", as you say, doubles his base power, as you said, then 9,000 x 2 becomes 18,000. If Kaioken "x2", as you say "multiplies his base", then 9,000 x 2 becomes... 18,000. There is no "Kaioken times 1".

I’m pretty sure when goku goes kaioken without a multiplier he’s just using the ability once. Kaioken x2 means he’s using 2 kaiokens which is why Kai told him never to go above 2 at max

2:28; there’s a panel directly from the manga (chapter 229) that I show saying that Goku doubles his strength and it’s still not enough to beat Vegeta. Up until that point, he had only been saying “Kaioken” not Kaioken times two, which he started saying AFTER that panel.

Strangely in German Goku never really screams the word kaioken, he either involves it in a normal sentence, or he doesn't name it at all.
He’s done that a few times in English too, there’s a lot of different translations for how he activates the Kaioken which is pretty interesting

I know that Piccolo finally got a form, 2 at that.
But before that, i was still pretty baffled that King Kai never taught the other Z Warriors (that was on his planet) the Kaioken. Piccolo's base was already like ssj2 or 3 level so he was already strong. But it wouldve been great if Krillin, DEFINITELY TIEN, and even Yamcha learned how to use it. It wouldve been a great substitute since they can't go super saiyan, or have the Potential Unleashed forms like Gohan and Piccolo has.
Agreed, they definitely could’ve expanded upon Kaioken more than what we’ve seen Goku do. Him moving up the Super Saiyan chain would have let the others step into the spotlight and tap into higher multipliers
@@InnovativeJdawg yes!! You know what would've been a great Saga to do this in? The Cell Saga. Actually 2 specific part where it would've made sense. During the 3 year training gap. Once they realized that they were easily disposed of in the future, by the Androids, it should've motivated them (especially Tien) as fighters. No to mention, during the Saiyan Saga, the last time they prepared for a major threat, they were easily wiped out then. And when Freeza and King Cold arrived, they were all beyond scared. This would've been great motivation to have Goku teleport them to King Kai's place.
Another genius moment would've been after Cell ecame perfect and bodied Krillin, Vegeta and then Trunks. Krillin and Tien would have reflected on how they were both completely useless to take on Cell. Krillin having the Destructo Disk literally not doing anything to faze Cell, and Tien being just enough to hold Cell in place. Not really causing any damage whatsoever. This would've been another great moment to reflect on how serious the threat was. Especially, especially when Goku even admitted "yeah if I fought Cell, he'd flatten me."

A bit off topic, but when it was explained that Goku wouldn't be able to stack things on UI like super saiyan because it requires a calm mind. Why would he not be able to use Kaioken or SSG?
Imagine the efficiency of UI turning on kaioken for just the instant of the impact of each hit, flashing red for a split second. That would be so cool.

15:10 One route I could imagine this going is if fusions are pushed more to the forefront. Let's assume that Gogeta and Vegito can pull off all of Goku's and Vegeta's techniques, which is far from absurd given that Gotenks can almost routinely go SSJ3 while neither Goten nor Trunks has even reached SSJ2 yet. In that case, there's 2 things that come to mind:
- Fusions are so strong that an opponent even pushing them to an Ultra form would be terrifying. However, with all of Goku's and Vegeta's techniques, a fusion using SSJBE and it not quite being enough is much more reasonable. And as explained by animators, SSJBE is even better of a counterbalance to Kaio-Ken's self-destructive potential than regular SSJB is. A fusion using SSJBE Kaio-Ken x20 against a particularly strong opponent is absolutely not off limits.
- Now, once we move past that and some seriously terrifyingly strong opponents take center stage, the combination of Goku's and Vegeta's techniques yields another match made in heaven, but it's a bit different. A big point during this video is that Kaio-Ken puts some serious stress on the user's body. Now, if only there was a way to turn that downside into a massive edge... What's that? Ultra Ego gets stronger the more damage you take? Yeah, that's right! With the constant strain of Kaio-Ken on the durable body of a fusion, the power of Ultra Ego would absolutely skyrocket. Add the multiplier from the Kaio-Ken itself, and you have a serious menace at hand. In fact, I'm pretty sure that looking up "ultra ego kaioken" and landing on one of your videos instead is how I came across your channel. It's just so potent of a concept that I can't believe no one made a video on it yet. I kinda see that as more of a Vegito thing than a Gogeta thing, honestly, as I've seen several statements (that I agree with) saying that Vegito is closer to Vegeta's personality than to Goku's, particularly in terms of arrogance.

He used Kaioken x4 to blast Vegeta away with the Kamehameha. That was his limit, but it was something he couldn’t maintain as casually as x3

Thanks glad you liked it! Also yeah, in terms of raw power, Kaioken could equal the different Super Saiyan forms. However, it causes strain on the body and the Saiyan forms don’t. So even if it seems like they’re equal to each other, there’s some drawbacks to using the Kaioken in higher multipliers

2:33 If they’re the same, why did King Kai had specify not to go more than double when using the Kaio-Ken? Why not just say “Don’t go more no more than the regular level.” To me, that implies there’s a level below double
- perhaps meaning that x1.5 everyone speculates about. Plus, if Vegeta can annihilate Dodoria and only being 2,000 points stronger than him, I’m fairly certain Goku at 12,000 could paralyze Nappa. It just makes sense to me (and it’s cooler) that you can go through the levels like that and not start at immediately doubled. And if King Kai were to teach it, I’d imagine he’d want to teach a degree of control (like having a normal level of Kaio-ken) before going full double.
Of course, I’ll also mention the anime (sub and dub) where Goku emphasizes x2 over just saying the word.

It's possible that there COULD be a lower multiplier, but in terms of what we've actually seen in the original manga, it's only ever implied that the Kaioken is a straight up double multiplication and anything less wouldn't really be interesting. Toriyama is a straightforward and simple mangaka, it was probably just easier for him to say "don't go over double the power" and run with that.
@ InnovativeJdawg True with Toriyama. Though in the same instance, he does write by the seat of his pants and does forget a lot of his own work. So it’s at least possible he forgot how Kaio-Ken worked when he was informing his editors or something.
I personally prefer regular Kaio-ken being a x1.5 multiplier just simply because of the dialogue.

Maybe? True Ultra Instinct would likely be the most possible of any version of UI, since it allows Goku to incorporate emotions into it all, which would work well with Kaioken

No, there’s no such thing as Kaioken x1 and it was never implied that there was. The narrator in the manga even says he “DOUBLED” his power before he ever even started saying Kaioken with the numbers.
Kaioken X1 double his base power, then x2 multiplys his base,,,,,, there IS such thing I have proof of it

If Kaioken "x2", as you say "multiplies his base", then 9,000 x 2 becomes... 18,000.
There is no "Kaioken times 1".
I really enjoy your videos. But i feel really bad that you put so much effort into your Dragon ball videos but they don't get as many views as your spiderman ones.

I’m pretty sure when goku goes kaioken without a multiplier he’s just using the ability once. Kaioken x2 means he’s using 2 kaiokens which is why Kai told him never to go above 2 at max
But Kaioken is the exact same as Kaioken x2, the manga even says that he doubled his power before he ever even started saying “times two”

2:28; there’s a panel directly from the manga (chapter 229) that I show saying that Goku doubles his strength and it’s still not enough to beat Vegeta. Up until that point, he had only been saying “Kaioken” not Kaioken times two, which he started saying AFTER that panel.
