If suppose apple's worth is 4 trillion dollars 3 trillion is because of its exclusive eco system. I dont think apple would survive if it platformed its apps on Android.
@conveyorofrandomness I guess if it garners the support of a large number of legislators (which it probably won't) it will probably result in apple divesting but the exclusivity shall still be maintained. Companies like that are just too valuable for a nation to lose to competition laws. At the same time google is also being forced to let go off of its chrome browser. But it may at most lead to minor inclusivity deals. This is what I can understand as far as much I know about American law with reference to the 1998 microsoft anti trust case.

Do you agree with the regulators trying to force Apple to adapt and therefore pushing Apple towards this sort of future outcome?

Apple doesn't need to open up; it simply needs to shut down because everyone else already has an open system.
