  • Join Michelle as she explores the Mid Atlantic Air Museum World War II Weekend in Reading, PA. Come see the amazing camps, planes, equipment, and of course a little bit of vintage shopping! Unfortunately the extreme heat got me me so we were unable to shoot the hangar dance like we planned, but hopefully next time!

    Hi, Michelle. I was there on the last day of event and it was very hot but awesome to be there. It's a shame that many voted to erase history and we must never forget why we still have our freedom.

    I 100% agree that it is important that we don't forget these events so that we learn from them and not repeat them again. My grandfather fought in WWI. No joke! There was a considerable age gap between my grandparents 😆. Love is love! We still have his army jacket and I'ts a family heirloom that is very much cherished and loved.

      That's so amazing that you have your grandfather's Army jacket! I have my Dad's Navy uniform, but I wish I had something from my Grandpa's WWII service! Thank you for watching!

    Thank you Michelle, I enjoyed watching this video! We have all kinds of events in the UK like this and they are always fun to attend ( pre pandemic!) Roll on more in the future. Loved the dress you wore on the day and adore the one you're wearing at the end! Sorry about the heat stroke.. ☹

    You have such interesting events in your area. My father served in WWII. He was 49 when I was born, so older than most parents. I have a few pictures. Thanks for sharing!

    So sorry you got heatstroke! I appreciated the point you made about war and needing to remember what it was like so it doesn’t happen again. And that flowered dress you were wearing is gorgeous on you.

    I’m so sorry that you got heatstroke 😢 I see you have recovered and I know you were disappointed about the dance. Never fear I’ll still be tuning in for more videos. My father was in WWII in the Army Air Corps so yes it is imperative that we don’t forget these events. I love your channel and look forward to more videos. Stay well 🙏❤️🌺

    You have a very interesting channel. I subscribed to your channel. Thank you for such important topics. My great-grandfathers died in that war. And it is important for us to remember this. And everyone can live in peace and harmony! It was very interesting for me to look at the fashion of the forties. Thanks again for the interesting video.

    So sorry that you got heatstroke. One of the things I enjoyed in this video was the 1944 home. And I really felt how everyone pulled together for Victory. We're there any female reenactors wearing military uniforms portraying nurses, and other women warriors?

    • @MyVintageLove
      @MyVintageLove  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, there were definitely quite a few female reenactors there, in uniform. I'm sorry we didn't get any shots of them, but it is such a huge event we were only able to cover a tiny fraction of the people and things there. We will hopefully do another video there next year and film even more people and camps!

    I am not sure why you put a disclaimer in. Did I miss something? There was nothing offensive or problematic shown in this video. Bummer about the heatstroke. Glad you recovered quickly.

    I'm so sorry you got heatstroke, I get it at least once a summer, glad you're feeling better. Great video, I feel, personally, that WWII is a time we need to never forget, the loss of millions of lives at the hands of the Nazi's cannot be forgotten. Also the war on the home front was such a key precursor to what we consider modern feminist movement. I feel honoring the sacrifices of soliders and their families during "The War" should be remembered, even the not so great things like internment camps for Japanese Americans and deportaions of Italian Americans. Also I hope you bought one of those dresses.

      @@cheaphussey5028 That's unfortunate. I had no idea. It's not been so many generations since it happened. I think it's a mistake to let the mists of time fog it over.
