Wow 40k euros is like 70M Naira man. I finally completed a Data science course and got my Associate Data Scientist certificate from QWASAR silicon valley but the job opportunities aren't present. This video gives me hope, Thank you. Great content btw.
Thanks so much Samson! Currently doing a Masters in Data Science and I am finding it super challenging and was getting a bit demotivated. This video reminded me of why I wanted to career switch in the first place❤
Are most jobs WFH or flexible to be given WFH if it wasn't? Like only expect to get WFH if the job listing says so, and woild you say about half the listing are listed as that? Do you have to present in person to stakeholders or other departments in the companies? What do you think about the Google data analytics certificate. Is that enough for entry level job and teaching basic concepts. Other recommendation is mevan analytics, have you done those courses?
Only expect to get WFH if the listing says so. I haven’t don’t both the google analytics and meaven analytics, so can’t speak authoritatively about them.😊
@@samson_afolabi Is there always enough data to be analyzed or questions to be answered that you are able to work everyday from 9 to 5 in a data analysis job B is that only if you are in a big indusry? To me data analysis always seemed more like a freelance job with only so much data and questions to be answered until needed again. I currently work at a gas station. Do you have any idea what could be done as data work that would build practice and act as meaningful projects? Inventory stuff seems to be more appropriate for excel/word. Is there anything that would benefit from sql, python or other data tools to the store?
There’s always something to do. There are new ideas being tested. New issues you want to understand about your customers. If you truly work in a data driven/ informed company where everything is measured with data, there’s a lot to do everyday.
I don’t think there’s no one who is not smart. We may all learn things at varying speeds but we can learn. The first thing I teach my students is that they believe they can learn Data Science. If that believe is not there, no matter what I say, they won’t learn.

You can simply search data projects for gas stations. That might be a good first step.
Will you say even though you work remotely, you'll be free enough to have an adequate work-life balance as a data scientist?
Yeah sure. I think even being remote guarantees that.😀
For someone who’s not all smart, what do you think the major challenge will be on thier journey to become a data scientist ??
