no idea I think iris has always loved Barry, i think that she even admitted it to joe when she was mad at him for not telling her that Barry was the flash and that he had feelings for her. But I think when Barry was in the coma she tried to move on bc she didnt know if Barry would wake up again, but I think deep down she has always liked him in a way that’s more than friends, she just didn’t know it at the time.

this is like a parallel, when barr confessed his feelings for iris, she said nothing, and when iris confessed her feelings for barry, he said nothing either, it's like they both were shook fort their words, anyway, now they are together and falling in love with each other :')
You are right. This does appear to be a callback to Barry's confession. And while Barry's confession seems sorta selfish considering the timing (Iris was about to move in with Eddie at the time), Iris' confession seems to come from that of concern for Barry's physical and emotional well being during this difficult decision that he has to make. She essentially tells him that no matter what he decides, he's Barry, and that is who she wants. Nice. Those two are amazing together :)
Barry was adopted by Joe after losing both of his parents (Mom killed, Dad in prison). Barry and Iris were growing up under the same roof. Barry and Iris developed emotional bonds that have characteristics of family and friendship which meant that they would always be in each other's lives one way or another. The idea of telling his friend/adopted sister that he is in love with her was going to be awkward no matter when he told her.
Be honest: from the moment Barry told Iris how he felt about her, they became much more interesting as a couple even if took a lot of drama for them to get become one. Iris' declaration to Barry would have never happened if he didn't lay it on the line as he did.
Oh I agree. Don't get me wrong. I've rooted for WestAllen from the moment I saw those two on screen. Barry confession was brought on by that jailhouse conversation with Henry Allen. Barry had spent so much time focusing on his losses that he didn't allow himself to pursue Iris. We also get slight glimmers of the importance Barry held for Iris as well. The fact that Eddie was her first serious relationship speaks volumes. Her friendship with Barry clearly played a role in her lack of a real love life prior to Eddie. At some point, the dream of being with her best friend would have been put aside (probably because of his coma) and she allowed herself to seek a relationship with Eddie. So when Barry confessed it had more to do with bad timing than her not have those types of feelings for him. Barry's confession pretty much opened a door that both Barry and Iris had kept closed for the course of their friendship.
LaChundra Roach If you think Iris felt the same way as Barry prior to his telling her how he felt, then she held back from telling him as well and possibly for the same reasons. The fact of the matter is that fear is the stumbling block in many relationships.
At the time of Barry's confession he didn't really know if she felt the same way. When Iris confessed to Barry, she knew exactly how he felt. Just a thought.
Again, I agree...but the story is told from Barry's perspective so we never truly know. Hopefully, they will give us flashbacks of their story as teens. Could happen..considering that the show makes a big deal about how they are destined to be together. Maybe we might get the why that is eventually....
Wow. He moved on from Patty pretty quickly. Well even when he was with Patty he still loved Iris.
Tess Niemy Barry dated Linda and Patty all the while he was in love with Iris. Linda realized it was a lost cause and agreed to split amicably. Patty was a different story...from the beginning she was more into Barry than he was into her. Barry did give it a college try but in the end Patty wasn't Iris. I think Barry may have loved Patty but he was not IN love with her. The heart wants what the heart wants! I also found Patty to be too needed...telling Barry it would have been nice to fight crime during the day and be together at night, while pouring on the waterworks. The writing was on the wall by that time...Barry didn't admit to being The Flash, and he didn't ask her to stay even though she begged him.
Jesse Nangle I like Catilin but I would never ship her with Barry. He would just treat her like he did the other two. Since the show has started its always been Barry and Iris I dont think that's gonna change.

Candice Patton is - and has always been - a very beautiful woman. Her role as Iris in The Flash was simply spot on; I liked her (both Candice as well as her character) from the moment she appeared on the show.
I love her too and I love WestAllen. I am frustrated at their lack of affection in season 8 so far. It doesn’t have to be make out seasons like season 3, but long hugs or her in his lap/sitting close discussing their work day in the evening would suffice.

Dang, Iris finally tells Barry what she feels about him, feelings she's probably had since they were kids, when Barry has to make the decision to probably sacrifice himself and any possibility of happiness or a normal life, and it's too much for him to handle at the moment. It's not him being petty or wanting to make her feel what he felt the previous year. It's because what she told him is something he's wanted to hear for the longest time, and now he's unsure of whether he can go through with it and lose the chance to have a relationship with Iris. Any guy in his shoes might feel the same

Seriously, my all-time favorite scene in the whole series and that's saying a lot. It's a call back to the end of 1x21 when Iris confesses (again!) that she has been thinking about them as a couple . . . but she has to stop that because of Eddie. That's what she means about not being available at that time. In that older scene from season one, they are also standing apart but Barry moves toward her (same hand gestures) but Iris doesn't move. This time around, they both walk slowly toward each other. Progress, people! Honestly, I think a kiss would've ruined it. She just needed him to know that she cares about him as a whole person.

I doubt Iris will be like Felicity. She hasn't tried to dictate Barry's behaviour plus she has been supportive of his decisions. The writers have comics and other materials to successfully write iris character, they shouldn't really make any mistakes regarding her personality .Where as with Felicity, she was a minor character in comics, so the writers have pretty much gone off script with regards to her character development . On a side note I really love Iris's top in this scene, they made her look so beautiful here, especially when she got teary eyed.
Barry & Iris are meant to be together Unlike Oliver and Fecility. In the comics of course im sure you know they are married. Iris is his other half. She motivates him and without her there wouldnt be a flash. She was the reason why he broke the sound barrier when he fought girder in the school, she was the reason he was able to time travel while trying to stop the tsunami. She makes him a better flash

There is a callback in this clip to an episode of arrow. If anyone remembers the episode "Huntress returns" near the end, Oliver and Tommy are talking and there is a visible line Tommy asks "Are you ok?" And Oliver responds ".....Not really." And here in this clip, Iris nails the exact same emotion Oliver dropped into that same line, and it's eerily similiar, even the context of it...crazy acting.
