You are the first person who explains each step by actually doing it. Instead, I took it off already, then video tape it like I want to see how you do it 😅 great video
Pressing down on the top of the wire on the bracket (connector) will release it. That way, you don't remove the retaining clip entirely and risk the chance of losing it. Also, the car may need to be driven to turn off the MIL and clear any related codes. You will get an engine light, traction control error light, ABS light, and even transmission codes, all associated with a bad speed sensor. This procedure works with a 2014 C-Class (W204), as well.
I was about to book my C220 in to a dealer. But this video might as well be my car !! (its even same colour) Thank you for a consise, clear video. I know what im doing this weekend
@Sergy Tsema I've had the steering angle sensor replaced, (£300) by my mechanic. He found this issue on his reader connected to the car.The fault went away for a while. A year later it has returned, every so often the ESP warning comes on. I have to keep resetting it. My mechanic plugged his laptop in and it shows no fault.! He suspects n intermittent fault on one of the sensors So, I'm going to replace all the sensors.
@@geoffmelville5316 Id recommend spending 100 bucks for a diagnostic tool, I think I got a foxwell? Its what I used to diagnose my sensor. It was showing me going 12mph at a standstill ha
Looks like that may be the same process for my E class Coupe too - will need to check when I have time, nice clear video - my only comment would be that when doing more than changing a wheel, I would not rely on a jack for support, especially those factory supplied ones. Axle stands are the safest solution.
For the drivers side sensor port pressing down on the wire clip released the wire HOWEVER on the passenger side I found it necessary to lift up and remove the clip as he did in this video. 2012 C250---drivers side one sensor port wire on passenger side two port wires--Brake pad indicator AND speed sensor.
The ultimate question. How do you know the sensor needs to be replaced? I am experiencing the sudden loss of ABS and other features when I make a hard left turn. I have been told that it’s a speed sensor however it doesn’t throw up a code. I’ve even tried using a scanner that reads abs.
I was able to tell its the speed sensor from my diagnostic tool that reads abs. There is an option to look at realtime speed of each of the sensors. The one that needed replacing was telling the car that its going about 12mph at a standstill.
@@sergytsema hi, could you please tell me the model # of your foxwell scanner, Im having the same issue and I need to read the wheel sensor speed. thanx
Having same issue but although scanner suggests speed sensor it will more likely be magnetic ring in hub. Had same fault with both rear wheels and it was the reluctor rings that were worn
Use a scanner. Im not sure if the obd2 ones that you can borrow from auto part store will tell you which wheel or not. I use a foxwell scanner I got from ebay for 140 bucks
@@sergytsemahey. Does your foxwell sensor tell you which wheel speed sensor is broken? Mine is A. I am looking at getting a foxwell after payday if it does.
@@silverltc2729 yes it will tell you how fast each wheel is spinning or thinks its spinning. I knew mine needed replacing because it was showing 42 mph at a standstill.
I dont remember if it went away on its own after I changed it or if I had to reset it. I did buy a scanner for $140 which helped me to diagnose the sensor and can be used to reset the abs. I bought the scanner on ebay, it is a foxwell multi system scanner.
Wow - DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUYS INSTRUCTIONS BLINDLY... putting hands, arms, even the head under a car thats only supported by a ROADSIDE EMERGENCY JACK???? No stands?? This is an example why some instructional videos on UA-cam can be very dangerous or even life-threatening. And no, its no excuse saying that its "obvious", because people watching this may not have experience, and will just blindly follow the instructions (as the video should allow for).

Why is there two sensors on the front right and one on other wheels?
I think there is only one per wheel. The other cable might be for the pad thickness sensor.
