This guy works for ford yet still delivers a proper review about some of the hang ups. Well done. Props for honesty. I'd buy a truck from this guy if I was local
Autostart stop, Global windows, heating steering wheel can all be adjusted with Forscan. You can set it to disable autostart stop by default, enable global windows and add heating steering wheel button on the home screen. You can also disable augmented exhaust, add temp above the gauge. There are too many options to list them all but having it is a must for Ford owners.
A quick way to get into the climate controls, use the temperature knob once, then tap the temperature gauge on the display. It will take you directly to the climate control screen.
For the Rake issue, you don't need to buy anything just do the factory FOX Mid Perch Mod for the front FOX SHOCKS. I was made aware of this and did it to my First Gen SVT RAPTOR. Leveled it right out. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Just labor.
leave the rake. You dopes with the leveling look stupid towing and hauling. Also it blinds drivers oncoming with the headlights. should be illegal. Totally stupid pickup hangup. love my rake
I have owned a F150 since 2016. Love the trucks, but my number 1 complaint would be the lack of a secondary seal on the bottom of the doors. Meaning that all dirt splashed up ends up in your door jams. Normal wash does not get this out with water that runs from the top down. You have no choice, but to do it each time separately. Also if your dressed up and hit weather keep an eye on the back of your pant leg when getting out.
Good honest assessment. That heated wheel is messed up. Good thing Ford went back to metal oil pans on that truck. Otherwise, you would of had something to add to the list. Talk about inconvenient, you should see how you need to reset the oil life gauge on a 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk: you have to step on the gas pedal and do the Hokie Pokie with the engine off!
Use Forscan for Global windows, auto start/stop disable, heated steering wheel button on screen, Bambi mode is a need, can also disable seatbelt minders.
I have a 2017 Raptor and on the bottom of my infotainment screen there is always a list of apps. Audio,climate,phone,nav...etc. I hit climate and the climate screen comes up with the heated steering wheel option. Two clicks to engage. I’m not sure why you don’t have the same option.
Hey man beautiful truck ya got there. However I would like to say that I think I have found a way to disable the Auto Start/Stop system without the need of a wiring kit or anything like that. I have a 2017 F-150 Lariat that I was able to do this on. I simply navigated right to the Settings tab on the screen that sits between the instrument clusters and then clicked Advanced Settings>Vehicle and then there should be something that says "Auto Engine Off" if you select that then it should keep the engine on at all times. Obviously you have worked around these trucks far more than I have but as far as I can tell this works perfectly.
We just got a 2019 Raptor and love it! I agree with you about the wheel liners and the heated steering wheel. I also find that the headrests for the front seats are a lot softer than my 2018 Platinum’s headrests.
Those Fuel wheels look sick in bronze, especially with that magnet grey raptor. By the way, you can fix a couple of those things you don’t like, with the fore scan. I’m pretty sure you could turn off the Auto Start/Stop and use the fob to put the windows down with a few codes from the fore scan.
A couple things i know and would disagree on with this video. Auto stop start can be shut off using ForScan or IDS (ford dealers have ids at every techs computer). global windows, although not a factory option, can also be turned on with ids or Forscan. The heated steering wheel can be put on the home page using ids or forscan.
Just wondering if your dealership can spray the wheel wells with the bedliner? Regarding the motion seats. Ford figures when you're making a Baja run. Your bouncing off the seat massaging your back for free. Regarding turning on the heated steering wheel. In my 2017 Edge Sport. I hit Climate on the bottom of the touch screen. Then the heated steering wheel button. I hit the home House icon located at the top left of my screen. I'm guessing your Raptor has the same Sync system.
Subscriber here from Prince Edward Island Canada...love the videos and congrats on the new truck...just may have to make a road trip to Alabama for my next truck!!
I was looking at a 2017 with everything except the sunroof and beadlock capable rims with 42000 miles. But the undercarriage rust on it was terrible! Twice as bad as my 2016 Z-71, so I have held off. Very good price, but the rust holds me back! Everything else on the truck is mint! Plus it has a JL audio aftermarket sound system. Your thoughts on the rust?
CCR respect. You should look into ForScan... if you're allowed to do those mods. It would address the auto start/stop, the heated steering wheel control, and the universal windows. Another quality video, cheers!
You can have global windows... it’s in the programming and you work for ford! Or you can go through Forscan and do it yourself. Also the auto fold mirrors when you lock your truck is a nice programming add on.
I forget what it’s called but there’s something you can do with a computer through the OBDII port to put the heated steering wheel icon on the main Sync screen. You can also adjust the DRL lights, door open and seatbelt chimes and hundreds of other settings. A friend did that to my 2016 F150 Lariat Sport and now it’s completely customized. It’s a popular search on many F150 forums I just can’t remember the name.
This color is my favorite with the Raptor of course being my dream truck. Should be my next vehicle purchase (currently have a 2018 F-150). I despise the auto start/stop, didn't know there was something to stop that entirely. I also hate the 10 speed which seems to be in most models.
Can’t come up with 10 things I hate about the Raptor, it’s awesome. Congrats again on the ride! Not crazy about your wheel choice, but better than what’s on there now lol
@@coryroot there was a sync update about a month ago that added the heated steering wheel button to the main screen. Didn't have to do anything - auto updated. It's the only update I've noticed!

It's actually easier than that. If you disconnect the small single wire that goes to the positive battery cable the computer will think that the alternator is charging the battery and not let the engine shut off.

I have it on GREAT authority that someone in this video helped pick those wheels out originally. Ha! Also, for everyones knowledge, if any Ford truck comes from SCA is missing a nice factory feature the person in this video shares the blame! We love you Mitchell all kidding aside. Great video!
Lol. Nose down has nothing to do with the Offroad suspension or pre runners. A pre runner or trophy truck on the gas is nose up because they have 850+ horsepower. Ford drops the nose to help with mpg. Anyone that’s done a leveling kit or small lift knows you lose mpg with the nose level or raised

Update the Sync in your truck. Pretty sure they fixed the heated steering wheel button placement with that update. It moved it to the home screen.
