Was just speaking to the Gent restoring a mini for me and he mentioned maybe getting rid of the sealed beams and replacing them , I just nodded as had no clue then ran to UA-cam, this was the first video I tried luckily, thanks for all the info this was perfect 👍🏼

Still think sealed beam were more waterproof and you didn't have hazy lenses.
Glass doesn't go hazy
Yup no hazing of the lens or brightness from the bulb. I have generic flashlights that are brighter than the brand new sealed beams my car had before I switched to LED’s

What is the LUX at 25ft for a sealed beam headlight? I have the round 7 inch on my 944 and want to keep oem look but looking to install the oem Jeep headlights to see if Its even better or not
I am looking for something to replace the headlights on my 1967 Cougar. It uses 4 (5.75") sealed beams. The outer lights are low beam and the inner two lights come on as high and all 4 lights sway on. Can you direct me to a link on your website where I can see what options I have?
And now you have to tear the whole front end on some model vehicles... just to change one bulb! "One step into the future."

U can't even retrofit the new civic headlights.
It's all an attempt by manufacturers to make you not able to work on your own vehicle, so they can make more $$$$$. But I digress.

What is the best but cheap LED option for a H4666 headlight which is on the 94 to 97 Chevy S10 and 87 to 92 Dodge Dakota? All the 4x6 options that I have looked at does not have the slanted pin like H4666 sealed beam. It seems like that I might need to do some rewiring.

Wish you guys had an upgrade for 1998 to 2004 GMC Sonomas.
I have a vintage Honda motorcycle headlight (1960s CM72) . I need to change out the sealed beam for a halogen/LED in order for the bike to be compliant. I can't find a housing for it. (I bought the halogen bulb) but I have no means to mix it to the old light. I drilled out the old sealed been fixture for the bulb so there is a hole, but it is an arc and with no housing, there is no way to hold it. Any ideas?

So what's the better sealed beam upgrade: a composite / conversion lens with an LED bulb (like a Hella 4x6 with Morimoto H4), or a sealed LED housing (like JW Speaker)?

A sealed LED housing is almost always better in terms of beam pattern.
The 90's Era Pontiac Bonneville has glass lenses with a replaceable bulb. It contains three bulbs

The sealed beam headlights were bright enough. The new LED lights are blinding.

I just recently replaced one of the original sealed beams on my '87 LTD Crown Victoria. It's remarkable how long the sealed beams would last.

What I mean is, for example, take a 4x6 LED all in one and custom fit it into a modern car that doesn't use a sealed beam, like a Toyota camry or something haha. I guess the work required to modify the housing to make it fit the 4x6 would be too much...?
No problem!
It would definitely be more work than its worth, now if you just wanted to custom fit them for something like some huge oversized fog lights that double as high beams then yeah sure something like that might be easier but modifying everything to fit in a vehicle that doesn't normally use 4x6 wouldn't really be worth it.

You skipped over the 5 3/4 round. For a while only 5 3/4 and 7 inch round whare the only legal ones. Then they aloud the two square sizes. Then composites
problem is .. those led headlights have no cutaway ... and blind the crap out of oncoming traffic

And they are still used today on newer vehicles. So terrible.
They sure are. There is a large aftermarket for them though.
