I simply replaced an existing vent that already had a 14" square hole cut in the attic. I hired a guy and watched/helped. It was a piece of cake. You do need to be careful removing old shingles. My roof was five years old and I still had a spare shingle pack so in 30 minutes we were done and very hot air was being sucked out of the attic.

Depends on what part of country you're in I guess. I searched specifically for tiled roof videos. I'm in California and most homes built after the 80's is clayed tile roofing.
Nice job. How can I find a guy that does clean work like this?
Does this fan come equipped with a critter guard to prevent rodents and other critters from entering the attic space?
Yes there is a screen on the inside.
Why does it need power if it is solar?
It's not solar powered. It's just a reflective sticker for "aesthetic reason".
The title of the video and the box on the fan literally say “solar”
@@pepe794 yes but it doesn't say solar powered
It's a hybrid model so it draws outlet power to cool the attic when the sun isn't out.
@@ragemachinest8771 is true. The video you see the fan running well was not plugged
Anyone know how many square feet this attic fan ventilates?
The box says 2000 sq feet of space. Assuming that is attic square footage, it should cover most houses, but any venting is good venting.
The background music is absolutely too loud and annoying.
I see no purpose in having music while learning to install. I will not be dancing while watching.
Looks easy but only for someone who's done this before
You definitely need some skill to install a roof mount version yourself. We always recommend using a roofer when cutting into your roof.
No help, 90% of homes have shingle roofs you haven’t showed me anything.
Hi Joemc111,
Give us a call at 951-325-6340 and we will be glad to answer any questions.
Shingle roofs are even easier to install this fan on.

Hmmmm...This looks a lot like a knock-off of the original solar attic fan by SunRise Solar Inc...
There are several brands out there. I bought mine after meeting a local installer of the whole house version at the local fair. Very happy.

Not even available or shown on the website
Lowes sell them
Why does the video show a tiled roof installation when I bet most people have composite shingles? It's not super helpful.

They have a video on there website for a shingle roof installation
I have concrete tiled roofing. Looks like you're losing the bet. ;)
