    As a roofer, the one thing I would like to mention is never hit a nail down on top of a shingle. That is a big no no. Y'all should invest in a "snake" tool. Really helps get into the hard to reach areas and the shingles don't get damaged. Also I would have sold ridge vents on this job, that is why the home owner has poor ventilation and possibly due to other factors.

    Installed in Canada, yes? Do they hold good to their warranty for ferners like me? I live in the USA. Also, is there some kind of cover system during the winter when you might not exactly want to vent the roof as much?

    • @Average_Roofer
      @Average_Roofer  Рік тому +1

      Yes they fully warranty their products in North America. Also for winter if you want to reduce the flow you can supply unplug the dc motor inside the vent stopping the solar fan from engaging. Making it just a regular static vent again.

      @@Average_Roofer Hmmm...sounds to me, though, like someone could make a little bit of cash making a good covers for these that would block the light, but still let it vent to keep balanced air pressure.
      Thanks for your reply! I'm working on a little project for my house. The attic (really just a ceiling space) was built without any eave vents/soffits. I live in a location where the temps in the summer can reach 105℉. The attic, I measured, can reach 140℉, so that's kind of bad. Then there's the access portal, which is little more than a piece of sheet metal over the hole, so that radiates right near the thermostat. It's almost like someone intentionally made this house to be a financial drain.
      At any rate, these look like a good part of the total solution (forging a new portal door that's actually insulated, putting in soffit vents, installing new vents on top to replace worn out whirlybirds).
