The changes made it more impactful and meaningful.
I disagree I think that it makes it more shocking but Nolan try to say they are nothing to us then actually killing them just because they were on the way is better than because he tried really hard to do so

So this is why he was so redeemable in the comics I was so confused at how he could have done all of that murder on that scale and still get redeemed in the comics. But now it makes more sense
Fr, the edits they made are so good, in which they add a lot more shock factor and impact while also showing us what little power earthlings actually have over Viltrumites. However, it kind of retcons his redemption later on and makes it a lot harder to reason with his transition.

In the comics he’s ignoring any humans’ presence. He’s acting as if they aren’t there and isn’t trying to save nor kill them necessarily. They are like ants being stepped on by accident. In the show, he’s actively participating in gruesome acts of violence directed towards humans.
It’s the difference between stepping on a cluster of ants on accident versus meticulously picking apart each individual ant one limb at a time.

When Amber found out Mark was a superhero she was actually happy instead of upset that he was choosing saving innocent people then spend time with her.
Yep she went from a strong and likable person with a good grasp on reality to that black washed shrew that talks about liberal arts classes and herself too much.
Getting up set at a super hero having to lie to you is like dating a drug dealer or a spy and getting mad they don’t tell you everything.
Yeah, and I guess the partial reason why she was happy compared to the show's version, was because she was worried that Mark was doing drugs, but he proved her wrong. Which is never shown in the show.
Yeah, Kirkman really wants us to be thankful that Mark gets with Eve in the show, when it eventually happens, and forget Amber. It's sad bc I really liked Amber in the comics, but in the show she's an asshole for little to no reason other than the fact that Mark lied to her about being a literal lifesaver. And then, once he finally tells her, she's angry and "knew the entire time!" Like, Jesus Christ lady your boyfriend almost died numerous times by the hands of criminals, but you're more concerned about the fact that he hid his identity. Amber was my least favorite thing about the entire show.

One of the better changes unlike his “girl friend” in the show that I hope gets yeeted every scene of the show she is in. I swear they made her show version garbage and black washed her just to make sjws defend something rightfully hated.

This is the first time I've seen this happen. They changed things to make it more violent, and on top of that the changes were all incredibly good! It really emphasizes what omni man was saying about outlasting everything and being more than the humans while also giving mark moments to show exactly how he feels by trying to save as many people as possible. It made this whole confrontation even more impactful.
And also no way the country didn't do anything like in the comics. They would have to try to defend their country

Invincible is underrated it should be way more popular it’s so well written and logical
I think even the original author said that the show made several writing improvements to scenes and storylines. I agree. Showing the collateral of their battle really helps to hammer home the realism and brutality of hero work, how you can't always save everyone.
Plus author is also writing for the show.
The biggest change is that the audience doesn't know Omniman killed the Guardians right away. You don't get the same level of constant tension and excited fear for what might happen in scenes with Nolan and others, because you don't know yet.
The audience having that information and it being constantly dangled over your head is an amazing change for the atmosphere of the first season.

I finished reading the comic book before the series was even announced and now I’m realizing that I comic doesn’t make him look as cruel by not showing him specifically go out for bystanders
I must admit, I'm very happy with MOST of the changes they made when adapting for TV.
That fight sequence was definitely improved on TV.
Another improvement was the killing of the Guardians of the Globe. In the comics, it was a huge mystery who killed them for several issues because Omni-Man pretty much one-shot them all at super speed. Except for Immortal, they probably never saw who killed them. On the show, the GOTG gave Omni-Man a run for his money and actually left him fucked up on the floor afterwards. We (the audience) knew and got to hold on to the suspense of "when/how will they find out?" for several episodes.
Also, Omni-Man fucking up the Flaxans homeworld... Chef's Kiss!! In the comics, he was just gone from Earth for months and just showed up one day saying he handled them. On the show, you see the gory details of him clapping the cheeks of the whole civilization. Can't wait to see how they adapt Rex's next dealings with them!
The rare one I don't like is having Amber be a complete bitch when Invincible reveals his secret identity. In the comics, it was a shock but she was understanding and rolled with it (at least in the beginning). On TV, she already knew, but gave him shit for not telling her sooner. If anything, already knowing and having plenty of time to analyze and digest the news should've made her more empathetic to what he was going through. But nope, she was a complete self-centered bitch about it and completely ruined her likability.
Why did they blackwash her on top of that?
Yeah, they actually made Damien Darkblood useful in the show. It was my absolute favorite change bc I was on the edge of my seat. This was before I read the comics (rookie mistake, I know). And I was so scared that Nolan would find out and hurt Debbie or Mark.

That one train scene made me speechless when watching the show for the first time
When Kirkman said he’d be making changes and that the show would be his definitive invincible story I was skeptical, but the changes give so much more depth to the story and motivations of the characters.

Got to admit though. The train one was brutal and really showed mark's helplessness in fighting his dad. Basically being forced to watch as his own body is used as a weapon to kill the innocent people he is trying to hard to save.

I love that this show makes use of its medium advantages to portray it’s themes with added intensity. You se really few cases like this one.
To be fair it was a battle to break marks will not just his body. Even the writer said the show is a a chance to change things he considered mistakes and evolve scenes as hes grown as a writer. I like the added deaths from the show it pushes Marks mental state all that much more watching his dad a man he looked up to effortlessly kill all those people all while beating the hell out of him
Nolan's redemption in the animated series is going to be a very hard one. In the comics, most of the civilian deaths are collateral damage. But in the cartoons, he actively murdered people.

I like the changes they made to the show. Showing mark how insignificant all those people are to them was a nice touch rather than just trying to beat him into joining him.
It makes you realize that the invincible show fight was the polar opposite of the Saitama vs Garou manga fight, where Garou kept accidentally saving people

This gave comic reader a reason to watch the animation. The plot may be more or less the same, but they change or adds many smaller but memorable moments
The show proves this is a lesson not personal. Everyone empathizes cuz it’s human beings. But Omni Man said it. He sees his wife as a “pet”. He looks at humans as insects/animals. He could step on every single ant but that’s work he has to do. Mark doesn’t see humans as ants cuz he lived and was amongst them. Him squishing a man’s head is equivalent to crushing a very specific ant just because you can. Where Mark tries to save the building, he tries to save people but can’t cuz they are too fragile. The whole fight isn’t about killing as many humans as possible, but the utter disregard for humans.
The series are way better so far!! It polishes all the great stuff, and while the artstyle isnt as detailed as the late comic style, it still looks good

These changes were great because they showed the fragility of human being in comparison to viltrumites as well as just how little regard omni man has for human life. (which is great foreshadowing for the invasion of Earth, because it shows if Omni-Man is that evil, how much worse will the other Viltrumites be)

So in the comics Omni man was simply trying to hurt invincible and didn’t care whether people got in the crossfire, but in the show Omni man made it more intentional his desire to put people in harms way
I think the changes are fine,especially since the whole point of it was to show how fragile and vulnerable humanity was and how omni man not only believed that earth is pitful,worthless and weak but that he is willing to drop bodies despite the fact he spent 20 years saving these people,to show mark that the earth needs the viltrium empire,he even said that if it wasnt for him and mark earth would’ve been doomed
