I love the “go with your gut” way of thinking sometimes. Sometimes it’s hard to hear any distinguishable difference or know “why” something sounds the way it does. Glad you said go with your gut than being pretentious and possibly arrogant about things as so many sound engineers on UA-cam are want to be.
Hello, thank for the video Please what will be your suggestion for a connect with studio live series 3 speaker output connection, I have two active sub and 2 pa speak, then two passive speaker that will like to use for side fill, thank you for your time
Much better. Your EQ curve on that Kick is still pretty wild and hollow.... but your compression is a little more intuitive than the last video you did with the 'Auto Release' misinformation. The Toms sound a little over processed. One method that might be a little more conducive would be to start with the Overheads, mix everything else (the band) to balance and then dovetail in the close mics. It wont sound as hyper processed and artificial.
@@AttawayAudio awesome, thanks dude! Another one I thought of would be to see what you’d do with processing on the aux outputs to IEM’s for example! 👌🙏
James really appreciate your videos. Can you give me some guidance? My church is in this same presonus board. I’m considering parallel processing the drums for compression. One mix with super compressed drums(wet) and one with no compression(dry). How does that work with compressing each of the drums differently? Do I compress the bus itself? Or do I just add in all the compressed drums with settings like you have here in the video.

Great videos! Very informative as I'm trying to get as much info on this console as possible. Great job!
the snare ring gets me every time. I am a drummer at heart but run sound at church, so i hear the ring and it drives me nuts as well.

Hey dude! Love your content! I’d really like to see a video on how you setup your master output with the FAT channel sometime!
Hey Chris, thank you so much! I'll add that to the video idea list and see about making one in the future!

Thank you so very much!
Can we see you route all the drums to a Bus/group and compress them as a whole there. before sending to the Main?
