What is your favorite classic mega man?
mega man 3 ( •̀ᴗ•́ )و ̑̑
7, for some reason the art style just sticks with me even though I know the sprites are slightly too big
Mega Man X
SMILERS
mega man 8 is my favorite and my love for it will never change. i still have my ps1 copy of mega man 8 that my uncle gave me because he knew i love it alot.
but the graphics are definitely the best part of the game and the design of the robot masters (astro man especially).
Mega man 2, had it on my nes as a kid from before I could remember.
Honestly my favorite MM game was Mega Man 8 because that eras art style really popped, it was a big era for capcom with their art and designs and the mega man universe in 8 was very animated and colorful and alive. As well as the over all character designs and shapes were just so so good
In fact now that you mention it, Street Fighter III and Megaman 8 both aged really well in the animation and aesthetics department!
@@brandonwilliams6119 they really did, and M M had amazing representation in Marvel VS. early series and then Volnutt for Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
Megaman 8 is what 7 wanted to be
Megaman 8 is such a piece of art. Pretty sad that it gets a bad rep for 2 snowboard sections and the voice acting which both are only minor parts of the game.
The sound effects, backgrounds, music, colors.... Masterpiece
mm8 also had amazing music. those beats and melodies are soooo fuckin good
>Mega Man 8 adopted the Mega Man Design from Rockman and Forte
Wet streets cause rain. Mega Man 8 came first, Rockman and Forte was adapted from 8.
Yes.
Rockman & Forte was made for working class Japanese citizens that couldn’t afford to buy their kids PlayStations.
So they made it for Super Famicom.
@@weedandwater WTF are you smoking?
@@sidsector98 Nothing he said was wrong. That was Capcom's rationale.
Small correction: Mega Man 8 came before Mega Man & Bass. 8 was released on PS1/SS on 1996 in Japan and Rockman & Forte came out for the Super Famicom on 1998.
Other than that, good video!
Megaman 8 came out before Rockman and Forte (SFC). I believe someone dumped some text years ago to find its working title was "Rockman 8.5." Megaman 8 was out in the US for the series' 10th anniversary in 1997. Rockman and Forte followed the next year in 1998. Pick up some old gaming mags from '98, and you'll see some import stores advertising its sale in the US.
I was about to mention that the graphics for RM&F were based on MM8 and not the other way around (which is why the graphics look a little off considering they had to resize the sprites for the SFC so everything's slightly bigger).
Wait, Rush was in RM&F. He was an item purchased from Auto and he would show up in front of Mega Man and start digging for items. Some of the CDs in that game can only be obtained by Rush digging them up.
whoops
Thank you friend for reminding me of my childhood. MM3 will always be my favorite strictly because of nostalgia, but MM2 was the Superior game.
Can't wait for the Mega Man X version of this video!
that'll be my next video ;)
It’ll be hype
any time he reaches megaman X7 for comparison. "You can do that in this game too, but in 3D!!!"
Fun fact, Doc Robot is a mistranslation. Its original name is Dokurobot, properly translated and localized would be somerhing along the lines of Skull Bot
Something interesting to note about Mega Man 5: if you already have an "M" Tank in your possession, than an "M" tank will not appear again until you use one.
Yeah and I think there are at least a half dozen of them throughout the game, maybe more.
As a forty year old speed runner watching this thing grow from nothing to now. I want this forever even if it’s only us here lol.
MegaMan three and two are unbelievable games! Whoever rented those from Blockbuster got their moneys worth 100%
7:46 that was introduced in mega man 3. Really nice video
It's such a shame we haven't got Megaman 12 yet, 11 was such a refined experience but it could be improved in a lot of areas.
Awesome video Clabe, hopefully you do one for the X series.
That's the plan!
Mega Man V has 6 M-tanks in total: Stone Man's Stage, Crystal Man's Stage, Proto Man Stage 2 and first three Wily Stages.
I was just playing Mega Man collection yesterday and made me think of you. Now you post this. Can't make it up buddy! :))
Recently been on a Mega Man kick lately, played 1-5 and am going to play 6 soon. Glad to see a vid by you about the series!
Was never a huge fan of MM, but MMX will always be one of my all time favorite SNES games
I loved Megaman 8, I had it on the original PlayStation. Yeah the voice acting was horrid, but for me it was a HUGE kick in the nostalgia feels. Revolutionary for the time! Thanks for the content. Subscribed.
If Mega Man’s sprite in 7 could have been a little smaller, Mega Man 11’s could have been a little bigger!!
Damn this takes me back to when I found your Twitch channel in 2015, time flies.
Needless to say that your passion for MM rubbed on me as well, I only played the X series back then but recently picked up MM Collection 1-6 for dirt cheap and its awesome.
Mega Man 12 will most definitely happen but I bet it will be one of those surprise releases that doesn't get much marketing behind it.
Awesome documentary! Thanks for this! I actually saw your stream way back in 2014 and I remember thinking "Why is this jacked guy making Megaman pearlers he's like a total jock and a total nerd all in one" so due to my smallmindedness I closed your stream but came back in 2019 :)
MM1-5 had the same gravity i felt... but then came 6... holy moly the gravity in that game is cranked up to 11
I see a lot of people not liking Mega man 7 for how "bulky" and "cramped" it is and especially the ending of the American version. But, I love Mega man 7. From design, to the amount of collectables, the very first time we interact and fight Proto man, and Bass.
It's great to hear you back at it. I hope you're feeling better, bro. 🤙
I need a mega man X version of this video thanks
coming up next ;)
Any SMILERS in the comment section? :)
:)
Is it me or is he channeling James Rolf at some parts in this video
Thanks for doing that thumbnail, I really appreciate it!
I love these kinds of vids from you Caleb!! A real megaman veteran going in and analyzing the series. Would love to see more about the zero, X series etc. it’d even be cool to see you doing this with something else like the final fantasy series for example. Keep it up!! :D
Great video Caleb! Glad you’re recovering well.
Cool video, I enjoyed it. I've always been partial to 5 because I grew up playing it. It was cool seeing all the specific differences between each entry, like Beat.
wtf I barely looked up mega man content and this just got released literally answering what I was looking for. Sweeeeeet. I was curious about these games. I started out on Megeman X 1-3. I enjoyed basically everything about them and then found out there were more games after but saw how the X series downgraded over time. I didn’t know about the original megaman until much later. I remember playing megaman and bass and megaman 2 on phone. It’s unfair of me to says hit every time I jumped with megaman it always felts slow and heavy and never keeping momentum unlike the X series which yes they are different games but I legit sucked at it as a kid. I also never got in it again but I remember enjoying megaman 2 and megeman and bass but never beating them. I just purchased megaman 11 and it feel amazing in every way so I got curious about the older games and here we are so thank you. New sub warned for real for real
I must’ve played Megaman 6 at one point because it looked very familiar
Please keep making longer videos.
lovely, high quality video!
Revisiting NES/SNES games, realized that rectangular/square characters make games more intuitive
Hope Clabe do more vids like this. Good video
My favorite is Mega Man 9 and 10. I play a lot of these games because of the fluidity of the game and also because of its tight difficulty that can be unfair at first but when you get the hang of it, you know them by heart and they are very enjoyable to me. of my point of view
That was an awesome video. My favourite Mega Man game has to be 10. Mostly because it's made with classic pixel style, which is unique to the series (however I love 11's artstyle as well). As for others, it's either I like them, but don't care, or I like them, but not as much as 3 or 4 at least, which are also my favourite
Mega Man 11 had the best animation in all the games!! They’ve got to make Mega Man 12!!
RED ALERT WE HAVE BEGA BAN CONTENT I REPEAT CALEB IS MAKING HIS YEARLY PIECE OF BEGA BAN CONTENT
Great video mate!
I never got past jewel man in mm9
Based Clabe
Video starts around 1:30
Some mistakes:
- Rush and Treble are in Rockman and Forte in the forms of Rush/Treble Search (useful to get Data Disks) and Rush/Treble Adaptor.
- Megaman 8 didn't adapt anything from Rockman and Forte, it is the other way around.
Slight correction to your correction: the Rush [Super] Adaptor is NOT in Mega Man & Bass, only the Treble one.
@@LionelRGuy It wasn't? I remember it being there. And wouldn't it not being there disbalance things in Bass's favor?.
@@toumabyakuyaBass + balanced = nope. XD Most folks feel the game was primarily designed for Bass, as Mega Man himself feels more like "hard mode" in that particular game.
@@LionelRGuy I meant option-wise, If Bass even has access to tools that Mega has not then the game is too one-sided in Bass's favor.
i completely forgot about that lol
Thank you Caleb for this video. I like it a lot. Go on like that. :)
The main difference is the release date. The bosses, and music 🤣
And the gimmicks lol
Mega Man 3,5,7,8,11and Bass (they may be hard in my childhood times, I'm emcee game masochist💀💀 but X among of my favourites)
I enjoyed this video, thx the goat !
Questions without answer:
Where's mega man 12?
Will there ever be a Mega Man X 9?
Are they going to work on Mega Man Legends 3 again?
When will the monster hunter overdose end?
Art style peaked in 32-bit. Series peaked with X4.
Fr. Mega man 8 was great too
@@maxrichards5925I think so as well. I know this is about classic MM, but I feel like X replaces that whole series for me. 😭
@@NYCHeavyHitz212 Same sometimes lol. I have to admit though since I played them all in order I would be nothing without the classic series games lol. I remember trying to play out of order & X3 absolutely destroyed me for the longest time until I had beaten X1 & X2 100% lol. They are definitely challenging, but the classic series definitely taught me how to stay consistent
REALLY COOL VIDEO, CALEB! SO GOOD TO SEE THIS TYPE OF CONTENT, NICE EDIT TOO FRIEZA, MANY KISSES :***
Would Mega Man pixel remasters be a good idea?
Capcom did put out a survey asking if fans wanted remakes from any of their franchises which included Ace Attorney, Breath of Fire and Megaman. Of course I voted Megaman.
how they complained we didnt have the internet youtube much in the 80's
Happy Rockman Day 6/9 2024!!💙🎸
Caleb are you a AVGN fan?
more content like this
- Great video!
- Can you do Mega Man Zero/ZX series? (As well as GameBoy Mega Man series)
The best video games of all times ever created.
I never noticed that you have problems with your Ls turning into Ws until Mega Man 6 and I've watched ur FF7 speed runs for years
that was cool
the only man on planet earth who has the permission to make such a video is Caleb 💪🏻
yoooo cool video
Why you can’t re-correct what you said instead of putting a text or a number there?! 2:02
aaawesome video!
Mega Man 1 was an early game. It was sloppy. No passwords, no saving, play to perfection or die. Typical of an Early NES game.
Mega Man 2 was neater and more thought out. With the exception of the BOO BEAM TRAP, Mega Man 2 was nearly flawless. It was so flawless in fact that all of the new games copied its style and rhythm.
Mega Man 3 was rushed, and it shows. The Doc robots are poorly thought out and the stages they represent are too difficult. The player has to know in advance that they have to hoard energy tanks and use them wisely or else they’ll fail the mission. Fortunately, there’s a password system by this time.
Once you get to MegaMan4, the game gets much easier. MegaMan4, 5 and 6 are the easiest of the series. They are very well balanced in favor of the player.
Mega Man 7 and 8 are my least favorite of the classic games. Not a fan of the music, art or voice acting.
Mega Man 9 and 10 are a return to Mega Man 2.
Mega Man 11 is Mega Man in HD for the modern generation and it works very well. It’s almost too easy, but the stages are longer and more challenging. Once you understand how to play through the game it’s a breeze.
so rockman & Forte came out after mega man 8 did, they made r&f as a cheap alternative for gamers that wanted more mega man but didnt want to buy the much more expensive ps1 at the time... hense why all the sprites and 2 bosses are in that game from mega man 8, most of the timeline is very straight forward even semi coherent with the gb titles... once you get into the mega man x lore thats when the timeline goes to hell and back and then somewhere else to boot, the classic series as it is was an awesome series but oversaturation of games made it not as fondly remembered as other franchises like mario or sonic
In light of recent events I believe I will pass on Gamer Supps
Was that the pre-workout mix in question? If so I might need to reconsider my gamer mix of choice
A few of shit takes, saying that MM2 is a masterpiece when it is full of flaws and MM6 is not when it makes everything better (except the music) is ridiculous. Rush is on MM&B and the game also came out after MM8, but apparently you never collected the CDs. MM4 is a disaster full of slowdowns.
Can you do a reaction video of X series tas Speedrun
you can speedrun mega man 1 1 handed?
who up beeting they eddies rn?
Caleb: "I assure you, it'll be worth your time."
Spoiler alert...it wasn't. GOTTEM...I kid I kid. Pretty awesome video little bro

Classic MM

Why can't talk about the gba version ?
Best MM is, without questions, MM8
Let's gooooooooo
Sheeeeesh i didn't know u had the lore like that 😮
Let's goooo!
Let’s gooooo
Dude, are you high? Or are the mistakes intentional 😂
wdym
@@Calebhart42super chill narrative but there’s a lot of little mistakes.. maybe just a style choice, but it’s entertaining
Obviously not a style choice, but you aren't helpful when you say "mistakes" but fail to even include just a few examples from the "lot" that you claim.@@PoeticProphetic
You sound like a high schooler trying to give a book report with that lisp
MM11 has too many buttons. Jussayin
