embossing folders will give you that look i use mine to make photo mats they just look decorative and i love the look and they look great in a journal they fancy up a page . i am having so much fun watching you as you go. ok i want the dog he is the be😍st. happy smile Sunny!!!!
I use old papers, paper I died with coffee, tea, avocado and onion skins. Boil the skins , cool and strain liquid. Put in a spray bottle and spray your papers.

Cute! Pam, I hate to see the old Papers deterioration from the acids in them. I don't know what to do about it since they don't make or I can't find, the acid-free spray that I used to have. I sprayed all of the stuff my granddaddy kept. I have ever single thing that he kept. I guess he had an idea that someone would want to have all of his receipts. And I DO!! I have where they bought the first car they bought. And a picture of my grandparents and my great grandfather standing by it ! In 1929 they paid $500. for it. I forget how much a month they paid. I ❤️ the embossed old Papers that you have.

I like to use wide lace and grosgrain ribbon to make belly bands. But I like your idea of using the long and skinnies (esp the parts trimmed off scrapbook paper) for them as well!

The video you spoke about is from 3 years ago and it was her Speampunk Dickens collectors journal . Lol I went on an youtube channel search to find it again. She did all kinds of special things with her book covers. And every journal had a story. So that was what I was talking about in my comment 🤗 . As always, love to watch your video sipping on my morning coffee!!! The bus ticket you showed is I think the same one that is used around here. I live off the island of Montreal and 30 km from town. If I go to town, bus fare is $5.00; if I continue to Montreal it will be $30 and if I continue to say go downtown, it will cost me another $25 for the metro ride....and so the simple solution....don't go!! Haven't been downtown since retiring 11 years ago!!! LOL!! So depending where you are going there is a set rate and that is what seems to be the ticket. Hope your day is filled with lots of sunshine....we had freezing rain yesterday which partially melted because it went up to a balmy high of 40F and today, not so balmy it will be snowing another few inches of snow!!! So icy conditions plus slush plus rain makes for one messy day! Love your ideas for putting into the journal and it will be another day of staying in and working on the pages for me!!

Pam, I love your mantra "Create with reckless abandon." I tend to lean toward being a perfectionist and I forget to have fun. I've been intrigued with your list you have made yourself in this video, "Words & Belly Bands Part 10." Where can I get a copy of that list? It seems to be a perfect way to remind myself of all the fun things I can do in a junk journal. I do them and forget about them when I move on to something else. Great reminder.

love to watch this process. I love the Heart Throb book. I found one called Mother of Pearl with the lettering in gold on the front. I have the signatures in but have not started the decorating. :)
Pam, I have been following along with this bookmaking series! Love it thanks! I bound my book and there is space between the signatures…. It is not a heavily loaded journal.. do you have a suggestion of how I camoflauge the space? I am seeing the fabric covered spine from the inside! Many thanks!
Sure, here are a few tips :) In a handmade junk journal there are naturally wider gaps bwteen the signatures when compared to a regular book. This happens becasue we generally dont use bok presses. Here are a few easy fixes to fill up those gaps :) 1. Keep decorating the bulk will cause the gaps to close up a bit2. Add some removeables in the gaps such as thinjournal notebooks or journal notepads or writing boards ot little stacks of handmade cards and envelopes etc :) Hope these help :)

I am having trouble getting things to "stick" mainly the signature spine into the book cover. I've tried pva glue, double stick tape glue stick. Any suggestionsm
I apologize if you mentioned it, but what type of glue did you use for the belly band? I love that idea by the way! (I noticed with my own work that certain types of glue don’t work for pockets and such, when I need a stronger bond.)

I am having trouble getting things to "stick" mainly the signature spine into the book cover. I've tried pva glue, double stick tape glue stick. Any suggestionsm

I apologize if you mentioned it, but what type of glue did you use for the belly band? I love that idea by the way! (I noticed with my own work that certain types of glue don’t work for pockets and such, when I need a stronger bond.)
