  • This gig log was a wedding in Glen Ellen, California at a winery called Abbot's Passage. This was a small intimate wedding I did for about 80 people. It was my first time using the battery-powered Everse 8 speaker for the ceremony! Hope you enjoy watching it.

    Thanks for the video. Looks like you have solid equipment but I would recommend getting a nice booth and maybe switching to white gear, after all this a wedding! If you like the gig bar I would switch to the Jmaz Versa Flex, it’s a much better unit. Good luck and make that money 😄

    I consider this video the best demonstration of the Everse 8 and its capabilities. Great DJing bro. Good mix of new and old school. I'm looking for a small portable speaker for home jams. Got my eyes on the Mackie Thump Go and Alto Busker 200W. So I'm looking for something at the budget end of the range. But it I was a professional DJ/musician I'd probably go for the Everse 8. It's pricey in my neck of the woods but for a professional it's a business investment.

    • @djcarljay
      @djcarljay  5 місяців тому

      Thanks for the love, bro! Yes, the Everse is a bit pricey, but I think it's worth the investment as a wedding DJ. The Mackie Thump looks like a decent portable speaker as well for the price!

    Hi! Have you checked how long it takes to fully charge an empty Everse 8 battery? Accurate to the hour and minutes. I want to compare this with my results. And while charging the speaker, which is turned off by the on/off toggle switch, sometimes the LCD display flashes, not always, but this happens. I don't understand if this should be the case or if it's abnormal.

    • @djcarljay
      @djcarljay  5 місяців тому

      Hey! I am not sure yet. I only charged it once when I got it, and I still haven't needed to charge it yet.

      If I understood you correctly, 2 weeks have passed since the publication of this video of yours. During this time, you did not have time to discharge the speaker's battery, so there is no need to put it on a charge. When charging, please pay attention to the display reaction. I live in Russia. There are no owners of such speakers here, and there are no videos on Russian UA-cam, except for my amateur ones, to ask about such moments. Thank you for your attention to my question!

    Thx for this nice video. Very well dj and pa equipment. At the ceremony you use only one speaker, courageous. I use at least 2 speakers for this because of the beam angles. But I also recommend 1-2 Subwoofer for the dancing area. Next point is the light bar: sound to light looks bad, because too fast with slow or mid bpm-range music. I recommend the easy Eurolite "Colorchief", it works also with unexperienced djs 🙂 I think about the EV Everse 12, cause the 8 looks too small. The 12 has surely a larger area of application.

    • @djcarljay
      @djcarljay  2 місяці тому

      I appreciate you watching and giving me feedback! Since it was a smaller event, using a single everse was perfect, but for larger events, I may need to use another. I have recently acquired 2 KS112 subs which have been a great addition to my equipment. My next goal is to explore the DMX world of lighting and I will definitely look into the Eurolite for this purpose.

      Greetings! I am solving this dilemma now. I have Everse 8. I compared the volume on the street with my Jbl Eon One Comact, the corresponding videos are on my channel ua-cam.com/video/H0sfDYovnjc/v-deo.html JBL Eon One Compact vs Everse 8. I was very shocked by the sound pressure of the Everse 8. As a result, I sold two of my JBL speakers (2021 and 2022) and am thinking about buying another one! Again, Everse 8 or Everse 12, which I plan to use in the city alternately at street performances. I play rock music: lead guitar with backing tracks and vocals. I used to do the same with Jbl Eon One Comact. Two or three days later, they switched between each other, reducing the physical wear of each speaker. But there is another space everywhere. Now, where there is less, I think that Everse 8 is better, where there is more, Everse 12 is better. Transportation on a 6-wheeled Italian Gimi "Tris New" trolley. On UA-cam, who is interested in what kind of cart it is, there is a video with this name. Type Gimi "Tris New" and you will see. The Everse 12 is of course bigger and heavier, but it can also be placed in this 6-wheel cart. Whether to buy it or not, I cannot decide, and there is no way to hear the difference in sound between them live. What do you say? If we compare the sound live, are there any differences between Everse 12 and Everse 8? It's unclear on UA-cam. It feels like they sound almost the same. Then what's the point of a 12-inch speaker?

    • @f8274
      @f8274 2 місяці тому

      I bought the Everse 12 10 days ago and don`t heard to Everse 8, but for me the sound of the Everse 12 is the minimum of quality sound, that i will hear on events. 12 inch woofers offers better mids and lows, and i cannot imagine how the Everse works with 8 inch chassis only. I assume, it is rather toy for at home or for very small venues with 30 pooples. Nothing comes from nothing, so be strong and handle the 15kg weight Everse 12! I know the Bose S1 und the large and heavy Soundbooks, both sounds so bad in comparison to the new Everse 12, cause they works without a tweeter horn for the highs. They have only nasty broadband chassis @@georgchekinoff239

    • @georgchekinoff239
      @georgchekinoff239 2 місяці тому

      @@f8274Thanks for the feedback. I also believe that a 12-inch speaker gives a wider frequency response, I used to work in Hi-Fi speaker stores. At the expense of 15 kg, if you watched my video in the last comment, you could see a 6-wheeled green cart. If desired, the Everse 12 can also be placed in it. The load capacity of 30 kg and the dimensions of this trolley allow. For me, the main thing is to have a better sound than the Everse 8. It should be better. But I wanted to make sure of this from the real owners. And as for how Everse 8 sounds compared to Everse 12 on the street, here's a short UA-cam video. ua-cam.com/video/s_VvrPpOf9A/v-deo.html You can listen to it yourself. However, listening to recordings and a live concert are not the same thing at all.

    • @f8274
      @f8274 2 місяці тому +1

      @@georgchekinoff239 Thanks for the link to the comparison video. But in this video i can not hear a difference, sounds as the recording is the same, also if they switch the look between Everse 8 and 12. But it can`t be correct. Both, the tweeter for the highs, and the mid-low Chassis are different. Furthermore the volumina of the two loudspeakers are different, so they have to sounds differently. I am happy with the sound of my Everse 12 and know the weak and muddy sound of Bose S1 and Soundbooks.

    Mackie & Jbl eon one same quality. so save yourself $ and get a mackie .
    Bose S1 i love it, but we all know bose is a standard mids speaker.
    Everse 8 loud as F and definitely the cleanest looking one of all, and fits perfectly in duffel bags for carry on. But it doesnt hit that "feel", which is where the bose will win . However i have mine connected to a subwoofer. But if you're using this for non bassy songs then this unit is amazing!

      Haha. I have all 3 plus the yorkville the best one is the yorkvile that thing a beast but can’t change the battery is the problem. Now next in line is the everse 8 That is way cleaner in sound than the next one which is the mackie. Mackie is a little more base heavy but u can’t hear the high hats which is what people want to hear too much bass eventually will distort the music to people ears long time. Now the jbl is last that thing clips so fast that’s why I put it at the bottom. The everse is just way more balanced. If I had to put the s1 it would after the the everse it’s a real clean sound but lacks the volume But the yorkville man that thing is slept on n u hardly see any vids on them.
