As someone who works at McDonald's I found the overall energy relatable. Like...even if the work environment isn't awful and most of your co-workers are either nice or keep to themselves and you don't have many difficult customers, you leave your shift feeling exhausted and empty inside.
As someone autistic, I can relate to the Gangle analysis when it comes to feeling different. In addition, I'm so glad you addressed the fact that Jax may not be as big of a jerk as people think he is.
I like how half the community is reading this as Autism Masking and the other half as a metaphor for Bipolar and having to find meds that work for you instead of making things worse

There’s actually quite I few things we can get from ragatha in this episode she talks about missing her horses and about being in a bunch of tea parties and dancing lessons so it at least to me feel like ragatha always did what her parents told her to do/did things that were traditionally seen as girly instead of things she actually enjoyed
If Jax was the first to be trapped in the circus like people are speculating (Thanks to the license plate), that means he's probably closed himself off emotionally because he's tried making friends in the past but they kept abstracting. Hard to feel safe enough to build up new relationships when people keep leaving.
As Gummy said, yes, Kinger is the one who has been there the longest. I could be totally wrong on my thought on this, but I just took the license place to be something that filled in because Jax was the first one who left the restaurant, so that car was assigned to him.
I have a theory on (of the cast we have now since coughmo, I can't spell, the clown guy who abstracted in the first episode is not counting) who got their first and basically the order they all arrived in. Kinger is first as that was confirmed, then Jax, Zooble, Ragatha, Gangle, and Pomni. This theory (or more like guess) comes from the order of when everyones shift ends/was meant to end since Zooble stayed an extra hour to drive Ragatha home. Aside from the shifts ending and when they 'go home' I don't have any other evidence. [As for Jax license plate that is either because since Kinger wasn't present he was the first to arrive or it's an ego thing and he might have had a plate like that IRL before getting stuck in the game]
@@fangirl8891 sadly it can’t be true cos gooseworx confirmed that aside from Pomni, zooble is most recent and I’m pretty sure they said Ragatha was 2nd
The scene that resonated with me was Zooble and Jax’s conversation. First of all it’s fun seeing them actually interact beyond insults, and Zooble’s line “The only thing holding [caine] back is the fact that he likes us” is so deliciously ominous. I actually played the IHNMaIMS game, and this show definitely wears its inspiration on its sleeve. It gives implications about how fragile the character’s situation really is, and it feels like even Jax is slightly unnerved by the concept.
Me: we shouldn’t set the bar too high, animation is a long process and we shouldn’t expect every episode to be better than the last. Also me: How do they keep doing it! 🤯
Even though Kinger is still my favourite character, I really relate to Gangle's struggle in this episode and how she's constantly trying to cope with her own inner sadness, which is incredibly relatable, especially as someone who also loves to draw and create art and had to simultaneously worked before in the food industry as a waiter, I totally understand how much you have to cope with the mundanity and mental stress of having to work in such a gruelling environment while trying to keep it together and feeling as if the days go by and lose out on your dreams with people who you feel like dont care enough about you or your dreams/passions, however, there are people out there that do care, and Gangle is lucky to have people like Zooble, Ragatha, Kinger and now Pomni care about her (Jax Im not to sure about). That Gummigoo reveal was CRAZY unexpected, and I can only imagine how many of the fan shippers will go wild after seeing Pomni reunited with him, even if he doesn't remember her! Overall, really good episode 8/10 By the way, I want to see what Kinger was up to with that picture of him bull-riding.
After voting 3/4 stars on the review, I went to TV tropes and learned that in Caine's bookshelf, he has a book with the title MatPat Theory on it. No I am not kidding. When I saw that easter egg after reading the page (I went to look for the bonus myself), I lost it. After the ad with Caine revealing he's aware of the internet, seeing that the creators knew of MatPat and his theory channels made me lose it. I want to see all of team theorist see that easter egg. I also want to know what's in said book XD
I love both this episode and last episode equally, just in different ways. Last episode made me feel so many strong emotions of fear, pity and catharsis. This one felt like a personal, real dread and discomfort of being in a place you thought you and others would like, only for it to backfire and make everyone (including yourself) miserable. Beautifully done on both in my opinion.
A very interesting thing to note is she only seems to draw people she trusts -She draws Zooble and Pomni at the end of the episode because Zooble is her best friend and Pomni went out of her way to comfort her. -She had a framed picture of Kaufmo for his funeral. If you really look at Kaufmo's demented painting, you can see they actually used to be normal pictures, he was an artist just like her. Coupled with the fact he and Zooble were Gangle's neighbors, she likely surrounded herself with her best friends. -She doesn't draw Jax for obvious reasons, but doesn't draw Kinger likely because he went crazy before she arrived and Pomni seems to be the only one who know that darkness makes him sane again. - If Ragatha's acid trip is anything to go off of, she doesn't actually Gangle, but spends time with her in an attempt to get Gangle to like her, lime she does with everyone. No trust there.
we already have some hints towards episode 5 -based on the WIP shot from the series announcement video, it will be a baseball episode -and Gooseworx confirmed it will be the Ragatha episode
I definitely resonated with this episode a lot. I haven't worked in a typical job, but I have had to mask my autism, depression, anxiety, and other aspects before, and occasionally still do. It is so important to have people you can be genuine around. Normal is, and should be seen as, a very broad thing that encompasses a lot of variety, but a lot of people just don't seem to get that. It is important to know how to mask, but it is also important to know how to not. I do love that Gangle talking about manga style webcomics is obvious projection, as in the few times we've seen her sketchbook, she's been drawing in an obviously anime/manga inspired style. As for Caine glitching, I'm wondering if he's been on so long he's reaching a memory limit or something. Like how a lot of the glitchiness of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were due to a memory leak. Might also explain why he's so scatter brained.
Okay I got some what if ideas for you to make: What If Buzz Lightyear and Woody NEVER MADE IT HOME!? (remake to explain how Toy Story 5 would play out. Production on the remake begins after you see Toy Story 5 so it makes sense) What if Anne, Sasha, and Marcy WENT TO THE BOILING ISLES!? What if Luz WAS SENT TO AMPHIBIA!? What if Soos NEVER WORKED AT THE MYSTERY SHACK!? What if Azula KILLED AANG!? What if Smoogle DECIDED TO STAY WITH HIS OWN KIND AT THE END OF G'DAY SMOOGLE!? What if Grandpa Smurf DROWNED IN SWASHBUCKLING SMURFS!? What if Sideshow Bob murdered Bart in Cape Feare? What ifs based on that page in Book of Bill showing all the alternate Pines like Mabel as the Gnome Queen, Mabel soaking wet after being drowned by the Gobblewonker, Dipper melting as a wax statue (reference to Little Gift Shop of Horrors), Dipper with scissors telekinetically pierced in his back, Mabel high on Smile Dip and another of her possessed by a ghost, Tyrone, Dipper's #2 clone, angrily reaching for the twins, Dipper glitching through time, Dipper as a video game character (reference to Soos and the Real Girl and Fight Fighters), Dipper and Mabel still shrunk, Dipper covered in candy after having been devoured by the Summerween Trickster, Either Dipper or Mabel's hand encased in tree sap (reference to The Land Before Swine and Irrational Treasure), Dipper and Mabel as zombies, Bill still possessing Dipper with the real Dipper stuck as a mindscape ghost, along with a possessed Mabel, Dipper and Mabel as Society of the Blind Eye members, Dipper turned to wood, and Dipper and Mabel having been turned to stone.
I love that Kinger is a Rodeo KING! Gangle, Ragatha, and Pomni and Zooble were so good in this because we saw more to who they are in the Circus and what they were outside in the real world. Ragatha was on a farm or horse ranch and has seen the Raggedy Ann and Andy movie where they go on a musical adventure probably so many times it's one of the reason's she's a Raggedy Ann inspired character in the Digital Circus. Gangle wanting to be a manga artist but had to put her dreams aside to get a "real job first" is very hard hitting to all of us artists who lack the skills or presence you see in artists like that. She puts on many masks to try and find the presence that'll get her noticed in the way she wants. I love that Zooble is a great sibling to Gangle too, and at the end there is such a precious moment where it shows Gangle found her people who like her and her art. Really Gangle feels so much like me now after this episode, and I like that every episode now can resonate with all sorts of people. Jax actually making me feel bad for him was a shock, but after seeing his expression at hearing about Kafmo's funeral this definitely showed that Jax is as deep a character as everyone here, and even that he and Gangle are similar too, just deal with emotions and how they hide them and show them differently(especially his comment he likes Gangle better when she's sad, that shows how close these two probably are). Also I loved the Gloink Queen's return and how she is a loving mother. Seeing Gummigoo and Pomni's interaction while a bit creepy, glad Ragatha pointed it out, and it was probably for the fans who love Pomni and Gummi, I'm glad that Pomni got closure at the end. Okay thanks for listening to my rambles, this episode is definitely my second favorite-Mildenhall Manor will be #1 for Kinger and Pomni.
I still can’t get over Kinger flipping Pomni off at the end of the episode when it’s a pic of gangle hiding. ( before Zooble came over to invite her over)
It's kinda interesting that you say that this ep isn't all that funny to you, yet I believe that this ep is the funniest. I guess it really comes down to different tastes in humor. It's actually quite rare for me to laugh in tadc episodes yet this time I laughed several times. That's a high score
Honestly, I think this episode hit perfectly well and hard. I really relate to Gangle, less as a neurodivergence allegory, but more as someone who's going through it but needs to pretend they're fine. This is definitely my favorite episode and I think they told her story really well.
As someone who has worked retail, this episode was so relatable. Especially because I have worked in fast food as a neuro divergent person, and this feels exactly like the make up of the crew of every fast food place. The person who was obviously a high school bully who either can't function outside of their old social clique or doesn't know how to (Jax), the stoner who's kinda nice but you doubt you can rely on (Ragatha), the "Work friend" who you're not really close to but has your back when they can tell you're having a bad day (Pomni), and the actual friend who just happens to work at the same place as you (Zooble).
Gangle's mask: Wishing to be normal Ragatha's mask: Wishing to be liked (notably different imo) Jax's mask: Emotional distancing (If nothing matters then nothing can hurt me) Pomni and Zooble are dealing with other personal things, so they're not as pre-occupied with what everyone else thinks of them.
8:12 That scene kind of hit hard with me, because being like Ragatha to someone else is the last thing I want to be. I want people to know im real with them, that im not just being fake, pretending to be positive.
If you haven't already, I think you'd really love watching Centaurworld! It's filled with wacky hijinks, then gut punches out of nowhere, and both seasons are on netflix! Also, the musical numbers range from insulting farts to MASTERPIECES.
Way I see it, there's no such thing as normal. As my mom always said, "Normal is a setting on a dryer" Their isn't a single one alive who doesn't have a quirk or two. Being weird, is normal! It's what makes us who we are and we shouldn't be afraid to show it.
This episode was very normal to me, as in I understood the situation with Gangle but it didn't pop out to me as this was the focus of the episode it just seemed normal, I just overlooked it while thinking something else was the focus of this episode and since I didn't find that I was left so confused as to what was going on.
YES! I keep hearing that this episode is the the new best by comparison and I’m like eeeh. Do I relate enough to the story that I was bawling by the end bc Gangle has always been the character I relate to the most? Yeah. But I feel like they could’ve dug deeper, did more with Gangle. I. want. more. Gangle. Also: when she says “the mask didn’t work”.. I literally couldn’t. Complete break down.
Hey Finn! I got a question. In the past, you overalalyzed the TADC episode 2 trailer, and made a prediction. Are you gonna do the same thing when the episode 5 trailer releases?
My thoughts for this episode are the same as those for the Among Us vs. Fall Guys Death Battle last week: It was fun. Not as edge of the seat exciting as the previous episode (Mildenhall Manor and Bowser vs. Eggman), but for something to end the year on after such a massive work of art, it did what it was set out to do. To be honest, I was expecting a bit more of a power trip arc with Gangle, but other than offloading multiple undesirable tasks onto Jax and forcing him to undergo employee reevaluation, she was relatively tame in her actions. I'd imagine any shift manager, even the most kindhearted soul, would become miffed if an employee went AWOL on their job to go "flirt" with a customer or if they got inadvertently sauced on the job. Speaking of which, WHAT SORT OF LSD DID THEY PUT IN THAT STUPID SAUCE?!
2:42 Another thing about that is - putting on an act means you dont actually improve yourself, you just put on an act for however long. You shouldnt put on an act for other people, you should self reflect and learn and grow as a person. The person under that mask wont always be the same person, it doesnt have to be, but putting on a mask, I think can stunt that growth. Because I mean when you come into conflict its a problem with the persona putting out there, not yourself. But without it, you have to face who you actual are, and if you need to make some changes. Its harder, I mean, that's WHY people mask, but its better to be authentic, and let your authentic self grow and change.
I think you missed the part when Gummigoo subtly reacted when Pomni said his name. It looked as if all the memories flooded back to them in that instant.
I don't think that Gummigo was 100% different from the one she met in episode 2. The reason I say that is because of his reaction to her saying his name before he told her his name. His reaction gives off vibes of "Wait I remember you!" then when his leaving its like he wants to say something else to her but he decides not to.
10:06 well I'd knew he's going to Compare The Amazing Digital Circus to Smiling Friends at they did an episode where Pim and Charlie investee a mystery at a fast food restaurant
I definitely like the episode and my brother adored it (because Gangle is his favorite). But I wasn’t sold on the hallucination scene with Ragatha. I don’t know if it will have a deeper meaning or it represents gangle acting aggressive or forceful later, but I felt that scene to be lacking. I mainly felt like it could have gone a little harder with her tripping. Something like what Cola did for one of his TADC fan shorts.
m surprised noone is mentioning Ragatha's comment about "Missing her horses." being a hint at her own life before TADC. Most people who own horses have lots of money as they are expensive animals to keep and you need land to do so. Which is also expensive to own. I have a feeling she could be a neglected rich-girl who fell into TADC for one reason or another. As far as Jax goes, I'm not sure - as Gooseworx has said "Jax is the only character who *deserves* to be in TADC." aka Hell. He also does something "unforgivable" in a future episode. He comes off as a narcassist or maybe someone with anti-social personality disorder, but even folks with those disorders can act normal once in awhile if they themselves aren't masking to be aloof, charming or whatever. Jax has slight breaks in his persona, but nothing like what we see in the other characters. Even his conversation with Pomni seemed like an attempt to be able to complain himself. But I guess we'll wait and see..
"It's called a manic episode and we've got three more seasons!" Hilarious but concerning. High Ragatha was a treat. Gummigoo being here was just mean. Pomni MVP

8:12 That scene kind of hit hard with me, because being like Ragatha to someone else is the last thing I want to be. I want people to know im real with them, that im not just being fake, pretending to be positive.
Drunk Ragattha Carried
getting around the rules loophole ftw since cant do anything illegal in the circus that is depending where the C & A HQ is at tho.
Half are theories I thought I need to get them out soon if I record it for example Jax
I can understand your opinions on this episode, but I’m glad you could check it out anyway :)
If you haven't already, I think you'd really love watching Centaurworld! It's filled with wacky hijinks, then gut punches out of nowhere, and both seasons are on netflix! Also, the musical numbers range from insulting farts to MASTERPIECES.
Got to be my favourite Christmas special 💀
Jax reminds me of a bully that bullies others so they don't get bullied themselves.
Great video.
Hey Finn! I got a question. In the past, you overalalyzed the TADC episode 2 trailer, and made a prediction.
Are you gonna do the same thing when the episode 5 trailer releases?
My thoughts for this episode are the same as those for the Among Us vs. Fall Guys Death Battle last week:
It was fun.
I’m on the autism spectrum, and somehow this resonates me
0:08 This made me laugh!
Another very good episode :3
I'm gonna be honest. When I first watched the episode, I thought the fast food restaurant adventure would be like the game "Diner Dash."
Hey can you just me and gangle have somethings thing in common😅
I wish we would get a second season
I think he just did that because that version of him never told her his name
I was a bit more confused why orbsman didn't have a bigger role to play in this episode instead of being a customer
I don't think that Gummigo was 100% different from the one she met in episode 2. The reason I say that is because of his reaction to her saying his name before he told her his name. His reaction gives off vibes of "Wait I remember you!" then when his leaving its like he wants to say something else to her but he decides not to.
"Wrong jingle" Lol
10:06 well I'd knew he's going to Compare The Amazing Digital Circus to Smiling Friends at they did an episode where Pim and Charlie investee a mystery at a fast food restaurant
7:09 ...wow, that's
That was
Bro has rizz, damn
I definitely like the episode and my brother adored it (because Gangle is his favorite). But I wasn’t sold on the hallucination scene with Ragatha. I don’t know if it will have a deeper meaning or it represents gangle acting aggressive or forceful later, but I felt that scene to be lacking. I mainly felt like it could have gone a little harder with her tripping. Something like what Cola did for one of his TADC fan shorts.
I think the episode was meant to feel like that and holy crap it struck a nerve seeing how lifeless it is
Are you gonna do a video on Helluva Boss episode 11 Mastermind?
I very much understand the gengals
struggle emphasis on very much cuz I have a mental disorder myself
With Me I can relate as I'm apart of the neurodivergent community and I'm on the very high end of the spectrum
well it got me to NOT work at a fast food restaurant that's for sure
Im still waiting on Caine becoming AM
11:15 HAHAHAHA
🎭🍔🍟
Hi Finn the pony how have you been
👍
😍🎪
4:30 Nah
gooseworks said jax get's worst so you thinking he might change is dumb sorry i had to correct you
PLS NEVER DO THAT AGAIN I DID NOT LIKE HOW YOUR TONE WUS
m surprised noone is mentioning Ragatha's comment about "Missing her horses." being a hint at her own life before TADC.
