- Fantastic ending.
Mad Max Fury Road is a 2015 action film directed and produced by George Miller, and written by Miller, Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris. The fourth instalment in the Mad Max franchise, it is an Australian and American venture produced by Kennedy Miller Mitchell, RatPac-Dune Entertainment and Village Roadshow Pictures. It is set in a future desert wasteland where gasoline and water are scarce commodities. It follows Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), who joins forces with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) to flee from cult leader Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his army in an armoured tanker truck, which leads to a lengthy road battle. The film also features Nicholas Hoult, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough, Zoë Kravitz, Abbey Lee and Courtney Eaton.

I love this ending and Max' "relationship" with Furiosa. There was no forced romance between the 2 of them. There was not even any need for a proper goodbye. Just a silent respect between the 2 of them. I liked the little head nod at the end between them
SageofSorrow came to say exactly this. That little acknowledgement between the two speaks more than words. Of all the scenes in the film that could stick in memory, this one’s the biggest for me.
But i think a romance, if well developed, would have been really nice. I mean they had amazing chemestry without even saying a single word to each other, imagine what would happen if they did a sequel
@@madapigi1 I think in the story max is supposed to fall for Furiosa but I think they changed it or are saving it for a second film.
Me too, and the back ground music at this scence. So freaking amazing. I had teary eyes.
I read somewhere in the original story. Max goes up onto the bridge. Because of her and joins civilization which ends the series
I love how Max doesn't stay and continues his journey. I really hope he finds his peace.
That's max's character he doesn't have an end goal or usually have a location to go to he just drives and ends up getting involed into somebody else's situation who can't handle it themselves and reluctantly helps doing it for a reward or the enemy pissed him off badly so when he saves the day his intentions aren't always from the kindness of his heart but still in there world max is still the closet thing to a hero
I know little of Mad Max, but from what videos I've seen talking about the timeline, this movie is taking place before 2.
@@oogiegaming2907 I doubt it, in Mad Max 2 the apocalypse seems to have been somewhat recent with characters mentioning their lives before it happened and are shown to remember a normal world, in Fury Road humans are at almost stone age levels of development and have almost reverted to a feral existence, the Warboyz seem to think cars are magical and one of Joe's wives doesn't recognise a satellite.
@@kieranfo3739 No clue. I'm fairly new to the Mad Max timeline, I've heard about this one I mentioned from videos and sites.
Rest of the immortal Joe’s teams are coming back to base for revenge . I will not stay and ran away like him .

And the Road Warrior? That was the last we ever saw of him. He lives now... only in my memories.
The Road Warrior is now a myth, some says he is still wondering around the wasteland...looking for peace...
What about the chief of the northern tribe?
He died of thirst in the desert
@@somegeekyperson4645 pretty nice one.
i heard he's still body slamming some Warboys in Gastown
I love that the character of Max is regarded as this figurative semi-mystical guardian, the “road warrior”, who winds up helping those in need and then just disappears. It ends the film on a happy, yet melancholic note, knowing that those he helped will never see him again as he leaves to continue his own “journey”. Perfection.
Hes the little hobo. Lol
Well said
In my understanding, the character, Max, and the films/stories he’s been involved in are not meant to be a cohesive narrative. It seems like Max is more a vague, mythological character in the Mad Max universe. Perhaps, in the continuity of the wasteland, Max and the stories he is involved in are purely mythological, rather than literal. An amalgamation of a number of “heroic” characters throughout the wasteland and its history, rather than a structured narrative describing the life of a single man. This would perhaps explain the inconsistencies between each of the films, showing that Max is not any specific character, but an adaptable mold, much like, for example, Hercules, or Zeus, whose stories and myths, taken collectively, are inconsistent and, at times, even contradictory to one another. This is by no means canon, nor has it even been suggested by the creators of the series (not to my knowledge anyway), but I think it’s a plausible theory.
@@Rum-RunnerLove this. Feels right for him
He wasn't even the main character 🤦🏽♀️
and thus all the water was used and everyone died
Maybe. But at least they died in each others' arms and not at the hands of a false god.
they mentioned the water was pumped up from underground, Australia has the largest and deepest artesian basin in the world, stretching over 1,700,000 square kilometres (660,000 sq mi), we currently use 42 million litres of water daily from it. so it would probably take a while to run out.

this is my favourite scene. even though Max has a chance for a better life a chance for love a chance for companionship a chance for friends he decides to literally jump from the platform and disappear into the crowd of homeless people.
yeah it makes no sense, but whatever its a movie.
garret morris he needs to reach the plains of silence to find peace. And he needs his car back, since it’s the only thing he has from the past.
garret morris That’s always been Max’s character
Look at any of the Mad Max endings and Max never returns for any form of civilization.
At the end of The Road Warrior, he had a chance to go with the Gyro Captain, but doesn’t. Only the Kid does.
At the end of Beyond Thunderdome, he stays behind and allows the kids to leave and never goes with Entity.

The best action movie ever made. I really regretted not to have watched it in the theater.
Yeah amazing to see in the theater. Not a big 3D movie watching person but I saw this film as a free preview showing and it was in 3D and pretty amazing!

Yah man, I was actually blown away by how good it was. It far exceeded my expectations!
I've seen in the theater back then. One of the best movie experiences I had in my life, and easily one of the best movies I watched in this past 10 years.
If you were fortunate enough to see this in theaters, the horns and drums at the end were insanely loud but man did everyone in the theater smile right along. It was like closing the book after reading an epic tale.
I still remember it. Even watching the clips brings tears to my eyes from the nostalgia of my theatre experience. One of the only movies I got right back in line to buy another ticket for once I finished the first watch.
Oh man you captured the feeling perfectly. It was like finishing a great book😊
I'm so happy they didn't force a romance between the two. It was such a great aspect having the two together as some sort of unstoppable force.

The final quote just wraps the movie up perfectly. The drive inside of us to survive makes us ignore others plights and sorrows, making many of us turn blind eyes everyday to all the suffering we see. And we live on.
But once in awhile, a few here and there decide to stand up and help against tyranny, oppression, homelessness, destitution, or any other plight that makes others suffer.
This is captured when max goes back and tells them to make a run for the citadel and collapse the canyon pass. Nux says “feels like Hope”. Inspires the entire group to make a stand and fight for a better future.
Makes me think about my own path and if I’m doing all I can to find the better version of myself. I think that’s what I take away from this movie every time I watch it.

That's what I love about this movie. The more you think about it the more it goes from a fun action movie to a genuine look at what makes us human
This is why I love Mad Max. He initially has no intention in helping the good people because HE himself is also trying to survive. But he ends up risking his life to save people.
Then leaves into the sunset without saying goodbye and before they can thank him.

Max realized he’s accomplished his goal, he’s brought serenity and hope to so many people. Earlier in the movie when he tells Furiosa that hope is a bad thing, here I think he realizes it can be achieved for other people, maybe not himself but the satisfaction it brings him to see what him and Furiosa accomplish, he travels ones more to try and see if he can succeed with others. His work is done and so he moves on. It’s so beautiful how he sneaks off as Furiosa is washed away by the joy of the moment. Pure brilliance.
It's a great ending. I know that it was probably most in character and made sense with the plot that Max left, but a part of me wishes that he would have stayed with Furiosa and the rest at the end. What a perfect movie though.
olivia slusser It was a great ending alright Ill give it that but what would be better if the song kept playing max finds his car and rides off into the sunset
DatBoi Scorpius Nah that would've been too much it's perfect the way it is. Two heroes nod in respect and Max disappears like he always does after helping a group of people out.
Moviefan123 but his car is in the desert not unless max want to walk miles and miles to go get it
Max never seems to stick around with anyone he helps/saves. It's like he's destined/cursed to be a wandering hero, finding others in need of aid, but unable to be with them.
Apparently in the original script they would've been in a somewhat relationship and being the reason max slowly regained his sanity

Furiosa:*Headnod* “you’re not too bad yourself”
“You’ll be alright”

“take care”
Furiosa: “you too”
Apparently the original ending had Max joining them. Tom Hardy objected saying "Max would never stay." He was right and because of that, we got the right ending.
This is my favorite film of the decade. It was such a surprise I had no expectations.
would've been funny if the lift snapped due to overcapacity
max: Well....fuck
Also Max: well this looks like a job for me
I love that scene where the fat women finally opened the Citadel's water tubes or whatever you call it and for me I find it poetic because at the early parts of the movie we see these poor souls being treated like cows meant to provide Joe's armies with breast milks as a means to fuel Joe's conquest and now we see them providing the poor and the desperate people with the water that has been long denied to them by Joe and you can clearly see how happy they are while watching those people finally getting what they need.
And those citadel women became the "many mothers" that Furiosa and the wives fought so hard to find.
But the entire concept of the scenario depends on the water being so scarce that Joe is able to or has to portion it out each day. If the situation is to be bought wholeheartedly then these women effectively just let out all the drinking water they had. Doing so has diminished whatever dwindling chances of their survival.
@@cobycobawell they didn’t. They have substantial clean water, Immortan Joe just monopolized it

George Miller knows how to do an ending. This is very reminiscent of the end of The Road Warrior, and equally as effective. 10/10 would recommend!
I like to imagine that Max visits sometime in the future, possibly bringing some people who need a safe home and would be happy in the society Furiosa and the women create.
The most badass line in cinematic history wasn’t even a speech, phrase, or a single word.
It was just the nod between Max and Furiosa.

Just a great ending to one of the best movies ever. Every scene is perfect and continues the story flawlessly. Bravo.
I loved that this movie communicated character development and emotions mostly through actions and eyes of the characters, rather than dialogue. The world in the film has become so desolate, devoid of compassion, humanity and sense, for the smarter ones, ones still fighting to retain some decency, it became pointless to engage in too many social interactions, conversations, debates.
I mean what can you say to human beings who live like animals underneath the water rock and to someone like the War Boys with their completely insane and twisted beliefs, value system, etc.? Who do you even trust when everyone is trying to get something out of you, trick you, use you, kill you? And not like in the times when civilization still functioned (our current times), where you could expect people to play tricks on you to make money, to become more rich, but we all had food, shelter, etc. In the movie, people don't have even their basic needs fulfilled and the movie makes it clear that human life has zero value.
That's why this ending means so much and the little nods these characters give each other mean so much. They started desperate, tired, going crazy, distrustful, alienated, bitter, rough. Not even willing to talk to one another, let alone help each other. That's how awful the world has become. At the end, they were able to somewhat feel like human beings again, because they helped each other. Something so basic, but in their reality, it it meant overcoming all they've been through for years and years. It meant overcoming the entire world. It's actually quite moving how harsh the road to some understanding and compassion was.
The nods they give each other don't mean just "thank you for helping me", they mean "thank you for saving me, for saving the remains of my humanity and for giving me something I didn't have for years and years - hope for better tomorrows".
Beautifully put!!!
It is epic.

Big emotions, bloated words and the tragic violin in the background can create good atmosphere, that's for sure. But such scenes as this ending scene give me the greatest goosebumps. Those epic drums and this subtle, but extremely meaningful nod from both characters, showing deepest respect to each other. No cheesy words needed. Brilliant.
Another great example is the (tragic but beautiful) ending of LaLaLand.

Un verdadero héroe, no esperó fama ni reconocimiento, solo cumplió con lo correcto, salvar a miles de personas, y siguió su camino.
Cool speculation (and probably true, maybe not):
Fury Road's Max Rockatansky is a name continued from the Feral Kid. The Feral Kid holds Max's Jacket and his vehicle to continue Max's sort of legacy. It explains how little Fury Road's Max gives very little dialogue, and mostly gives animalistic grunts and behavior. Hell, he ate a two-headed lizard like an animal.
Fury Road's Max is traumatized after his colony collapse, and the deaths of his people. Which you've may seen the young girl who haunts him. In Road Warrior's ending, you see Feral Kid ride off with the group of people. Which the time line could make sense of connections to age.
And Feral Kid always keeps Max's story and history. Perhaps as a sort of how great of a survivor and fighter Max Rockatansky was.
Then comes Immortan Joe. It's apparent that the former Toecutter has survived the crash. How he was medically/physically treated and revived is beyond me. But put to say, Immortan Joe were Toecutter's same age in that time. Plus, Immortan Joe is played by the same actor who played the role of Toecutter. And he aged alongside the Feral Kid's age via timeline of the franchise.
Now we have an adult Feral Kid. Who may have learned along the way how to operate vehicles, firearms, language, etc from the previous group(s). It could well mean that the original Max Rockatansky could have passed away. Perhaps Max has returned to the group, and he also may have died in those connected groups Feral Kid were in. Could be how Feral Kid bares Max's jacket and vehicle.
Now in Fury Road, we have an old Toecutter and a grown up Feral Kid.
Just a food for thought. I like that idea.
Going through extremely harsh times can make you mature so much that words start to feel unnecessary. These two went through such times together and managed to connect and communicate well without using much words.

This is what the live action Fist of the North Star should have been. Max, much like Kenshiro, is a casual guy who minds his business, solves problems that get in his path, and then silently leaves.
この映画でシャーリーズセロンがめちゃくちゃ好きになりました。最後のお互いに頷くシーンは鳥肌立った👍️
They say goodbye with looks
This movie is massive. Just like the "Ten Commandments" in cast and visuals. Wonderful story! Hoping for another Mad Max in the near future! 😄👍❤️💯
People like Max don’t see themselves as heroes. It’s what they do that makes people see them as one.
2:37 And they say Neanderthals are extinct.
Prof. Genki lol
The fact i knew who you was talking about before seeing him
So when Joe's body is dropped from the vehicle, we see the hordes of Wretched descend upon it and tear it to pieces, dissolving Immortan Joe's legend and status as a "living god" instantly. We can't see for sure in this scene, but I've read that they also cannibalized him, or perhaps that it was originally intended for them to do so.
But just imagine an existence so wretched that you'd do something like that, at the drop of a hat. This series made its name by depicting the naked brutality of a collapsed, dead, lawless world and the struggle to survive within it, but the thought of something like this is uniquely brutal, imo.

What an efficient way to distribute water.
This ending hits differently now after watching the prequel
I love how Max gives a nod to her then disappears into the crowd, on to his next journey..
