Jess, the awards and accolades you received at the “virtual” commencement are no surprise to me because you exude such kindness and warmth even on UA-cam which is not easy to do. You have such an easy friendliness about you, and when you add onto that the brains it takes to solidify your other gifts, there is nothing that can stop you from achieving your goals, for sure! It’s a good thing that your teachers saw these things, too. Your parents are thrilled and so proud of you.....there’s no faking that full on grin your mom has. Lol. Hey Sandy, You mentioned your sheep are bored...I’m a docent at a zoo, and we have found for many animals to thrive, they need enrichment. There are things that can be cheaply made, as well as purchased online yes, even for sheep. I’ve seen hay balls used for sheep and goats, and it’s a blast watching them play with them. I’m not an expert, but you can research it, and see what you think. I know you raise your animals for meat, and I also know you love them and want the best life for them, so I thought maybe this suggestion may help. You always do such an amazing job and I know whatever you decide will be the best decision for you and your sheep.

My husband & I are both retired teachers. We feel so sad for what is happening. My husband was in charge of the musicals ,variety shows, and contests which have all been curtailed. 😔 School is about so many experiences beyond math and science and our kids are really missing out. I can't wait for the vaccine.

My billy goats like to play with a small jolly ball when they are in rut and frustrated... It's pretty funny. They are made for horses so they are really durable. They tend to play with it more when it's hanging up a foot or two off the ground. They have a lot less girls compared to your boys though!

Put strawbales around the bottem of the cabin in the woods to in prevent heat loss through the floor.
They grow up so fast just seems like they were born. So cute.
I saw one of your videos and you were talking about you wish you could find someone that uses belly wool. There's a video on UA-cam called off-grid with Doug and Stacy and it's about their bees. Apparently they use wool in a pillowcase to put in the top of the hive for the winter. If you have people with hives it might be something to check into.
I saw on a vlog (I think it was Wholesome Roots) That wool in the nesting boxes worked well. Cushions the eggs but the ladies can't kick it out of the box like they do with straw. If you don't have egg layers I'm guessing you know people who do.

I know with my stud dogs when I had several, my males would get frustrated and anxious and chew coat when females came into heat.
My Suffolk and Ile-de-France sheep also pulled out each other's wool and another farmer told me it might be a zinc deficiency. I gave each of them a shot of Multimin (zinc, manganese, selenium and copper) and they haven't done it since.

We stayed in our cars and drove to the fairgrounds. The Graduation for my Daughter was like a drive-in movie theater. Projected on a big screen, on the Radio, and on You-Tube all at once! Instead of applause we honked our horns. Groups of 50 students left their cars and stood in distanced lines to receive their diplomas and and the flower of the year. It was hot out in August when this was scheduled. I'm so Happy for Jess! I have 1 kiddo left to graduate, his ceremony will probably be similar. Hurrah Class of 2020!

Graduations were definitely a bummer for 2020, my oldest sat passenger in my car while he got a picture and confetti. It's amazing what the faculty did, in the short time, and anxious world.
Maybe a big rubber ball. Like a really thick rubber one they got them for horses to play with. It would be fun to see how the sheep would react to it. It may take a while if they act spooked by it for them to really start playing with it but most figure it out pretty quickly. Especially the babies lol

You can use a heavy tarp and skirt around just like a Travel trailer with extended stay winter

I LOVE the black and white baby! She’s adorable! I hope you keep her and the other one that comes to you all of the time.
You can find a mattress to fit those bunks at Medline. They might be a bit expensive.But they are thick and comfortable.I believe they are 6-8' thick.Also, they are waterproof and have a removable vinyl like cover.

I agree it won’t be back to normal! Love the little cabin! I do oil painting and my husband bought me a little shed to set up my painting and it’s so nice! It’s so quiet out in our backyard and even the dog wont to go in! Right now there is a bit to much fire in the area. 2 fires very close with the nasty winds! Lovely Southern California...
Awwww Jess. A proud Momma here for all the grads this year that had to do this online. But I believe that in years to come you will all be special in the way it was back in that "special 2020.........". And not surprised at your achievement in school. Fantastic :) My daughter is in fourth year University now. I feel like she just graduated high school. You are a lot like her. She is also very bonded with her Dad and he is a mechanic, we have 100 acres and 7 goats and a whack of chickens, but she likes it all too. She has been rebuilding an old classic Jeep over the years and so I love seeing you right into the big machine repair. And she loves her Momma to as you do, but we just aren't quite the same. And I think it is because we are drama queens as Mom's will be and Dad's are just way calmer with not the same worries and a little bit more reckless. So maybe more fun. And sadly they are usually fine. With their recklessness. Moms are ok to though. The world needs Moms. hugs and thank you for sharing your grad!
