Mary Carl, you received a book about Cher Ami, who was a real carrier pigeon. The bird was injured in the war and had a prosthetic leg made for it. I believe the bird was stuffed after it died, and is in the Smithsonian Institute. I read a picture book about Cher Ami to my 5th graders when they were studying about WWI.
I saw this comment and I decided to look into the history of Cher Ami, I am going to get that book and read it, I love animals and I love history and this is something I would love to read. 💖📖📚
Good Idea! I made my daughter a t-shirt quilt with all her gymnastic t-shirts. It started from 5 years old and went all the way through high school. It has her first gymnastics school t-shirt and included tees from various meets including regional and state meets she competed in. She loved it and took to college with her and at 38 still has it.
There are many of us that can make T-shirt quilts. They are wonderful. MaryCarl, start saving your chicken shirts…I am sure you will have plenty to choose from.
I was thinking the same thing but it makes me so happy for them as they are just so thankful for each and everything.. I see some channel that do this and they aren't even thankful anymore they can't even be bothered to open hw items boxes pile up and not like these guys where they wait for enough to do a video.. I seen others let them pile and pile even long after they have enough to do videos of them its like they just expect it.. but I have to say sometimes people don't consider what these families may have to do with some this stuff that isn't even usable as everyday items... they only have so much roo. Even if they love everything they going run out space sooner then later!! Glad this family shares their blessing with us it makes me smile 😃
@@Alaska2446 I believe when they get their home finished and the barn finished on the inside, it would be a beautiful place to hang some of these wonderful and artistic treasures. If I were them, I’d finish the barn on the inside walls with some saw milled trees, off their farm, and do a bat n board siding, it’s so easy to do also, and cost effective too, and Jason and Brook can do it!! If y’all go watch the Red Poppy Ranch, Heath does all Bat n board siding even in the chickens coop and the goats birthing areas and it looks so finished and neat. Heath even put the old corrugated tin panels, chair wall height, on the bottom of their home wall outside! I know Jason & Brook should see it as an idea for the inside of the old barn! Have fun dreaming!
Is there a mail call #1 and #2.? Been searching, can't find them. I've seen #3, #4 and #5 several times. Enjoyed them each time as if seeing them for the first time.
I think those rain gagues were from me! I sent a set. One for the potoger garden and one for the flower garden. It should have had a note inside! Enjoy 😉
@@evec.1933 thanks! I thought so! And Jason mentioned a couple of times that they needed them with all of the rain they've had lately so I thought I would send them some!
What a joyous time for y'all. I had to comment when MC opened the book "Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey." Cher Ami is a very famous carrier pigeon flown in WW I. While completely surrounded the Major and his war torn battalion had one last pigeon to send a message back to command. That pigeon was Cher Ami who survived the gun fire that had taken previous attempts. MC mentioned she wants homing pigeons. Cher Ami was raised and trained by American pigeon fanciers and donated for use in the war.
@@kaseybridges5184 There is a movie, "Lost Batallion," with Rick Schroeder, yes that Rick Schroeder. The movie is primarily about their situation but there is a good scene with Cher Ami. The movie is excellent, well acted although very realistic war footage.
Must check if my cousins, who have been breeding & racing pidgeons for the better part of 40years & recently moved to the Western Cape from Gauteng know about Cher Ami. They would be mighty impressed.
The book that MC got is about a famous pigeon. Cher Ami was a homing pigeon that was used during the war and his story is told in a war museum. Cher Ami is French for Dear Friend.
PLEASE Please Please don’t ever stop doing MAILTIME So many Utubers have stopped. But to those of us that LOVE to watch them we feel the love from your subs and for me it brightens my day and the three of you are so PRECIOUS. I just want to say thank you and God Bless you always
when Mary Carl returned from taking care of her birds and tried those ketchup potato chips she said she could touch them because her hands weren't clean...and then she opened her mouth and got some and then went in for more and she looked like one of her little birds reaching out for food from it's parent! So cute!
You know, y'all don't need to worry about home decor. You have some absolutely charming, one of a kind, original paintings, pottery, wooden statues, etc that will be marvelous in your new home. You can even hand quilts. You bless us with your positive lives and you are blessed in return. You are what the doctors ordered to help us all get through the pandemic and hard economic times. God bless and keep you and all your critters.
Jason is a snacker. LOL. I had to laugh at how much he munched on during this mail time. The paintings are what should be hung in the loft office. The two that have the wood fence will go great together. They looked like they were the same size. Those flash lights would be a great addition to your safe room. Great aprons. Just got to love the cow print and of course the plaid to go with Brooke's jacket. The khaki color one is right up Jason's wardrobe. Great gifts, fun signs, Great snacks, and the quilt that was made is beautiful. Handmade quilts are so incredible. I took a class on quilting but have yet to make one. Well, I can't wait to see the next video of what's been going on at the 40. By the time we see it the plumbing should be almost if not complete for the rough in. It sure is coming along even with the delays. You all are just a great family. You always put a smile on my face. From appreciation of Mildred's next halter to the rain catchers, to the hand painted and drawings of the pets, you can see that every last one is as special as the next....even ketchup flavored chips. Ok until the next one.....ya'all be good.
Lots of goodies for all. Love how Jason took the candy and started enjoying it. He's gonna have a sugar rush. I think you have found a good place for mail opening videos. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
I love watching y’all. My license on my 21 year old car has the letters in this order PMS. When they want to give me new tags I will send it to you if you wouldn’t be offended. Yes, my car has PMS! T has 103,000 miles on it.
Gosh, I can't believe I watched you guys opening almost 2 hours worth of gifts, but I did, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You have some awesome, generous, loving viewers! I so loved the paintings, especially. The one of Mildred in particular, so sweet and beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
The barn acoustics are good Jason...no need for special sound proof roofing or some kind of sound proof audion panels to enhance the quality of Pink's Barn. Mary Carl is getting more expressive...that is nice to see. I am wearing my Bee Happy tee shirt as I watch y'all at present opening Mail Time. Enjoy the love from us viewers! We love you guys! The sunlight coming through the barn door makes Brooke saint-like with a halo.
This was the best mail time ever so far. So nice to see MaryCarls enthusiasm and thankfulness. All y’all are wonderful and everyday is a new exciting venture. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with all of us. With lots of love ❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️Meg
I think she got really cold when they did it outside of the camper. Jason has talked about how the wind makes it really colder up in that area. Everyone seemed to be warm and out of the elements which made for a better opening.
Hey, Jason, Brooke and MaryCarl! Y’all have some awesome COG SQUAD FAMILY!! I’m glad to be one of them, even though all I do is pray for y’all! Stay safe and warm! Prayers and Blessings always
Whenever we begin to think The whole world is mean and ugly, just watching this UA-cam restores my faith in humanity! Love how clever some people are and how generous they are….loved watching you all open these gifts!
I love these mail time videos! Really enjoy seeing joy on others faces when they receive such blessings. So many thoughtful and personalized gifts. Your family is much beloved and you deserve every bit of it! I will say this tho, I never really paid any attention but was very surprised when I just happened to look at how many subscribers you guys have. From all the love I see on this channel I can't believe you're not over 100K!!! Come on folks! She has a sound work ethic you all should be proud of. Thank you for sharing your time with all of us. I enjoy every minute.
I can’t even imagine how fun it would be to open that many presents. I enjoyed this video very much.😀 Side note, has your mom ever been in one of your videos? I would really like to meet her.
That was fun! 😃 It was like Christmas again! 🎄😀 Loved all the thoughtful & personal gifts you got & so many talented people, the paintings, the quilt, all the handmade things that must have taken so much time & love 😍 I love all the paintings!! 😍
We LOVE watching you open presents! It’s like getting a present ourselves to see your delight in each gift. Please keep doing the Mail videos. You make us laugh when you sample goodies. Those ketchup chips sounded awful, but were good. Loved the aprons, Brook. We never miss any of your videos or podcasts. Wonderful family!
Well we know how to make Jason happy...Chocolate! Love the quilt. Both my parents pieced and made quilts by hand. My Dad's stitches were perfectly spaced...better than my mother's quilting. Every winter they set up the frames after Christmas in their sitting room and would make 2 quilts. Spring and summer was for gardening. So Jason you can learn to quilt...In your spare time...maybe when you retire(that's when my Dad started. He also learned to croquet from my grandma too.) Loved all the nice artwork your fans sent you too. I've seen those chips before, but mostly in Canada. I'm like Brooke not much of a chip eater, but I love those Coconut chocolates too. The Barn turned out to be a great place to film this. I never heard any background sound, etc. Just put you a folding table in there to set your stuff on and then you will be all set for next time. I enjoyed seeing you all today opening your lovely gifts.
Croquet or crochet?Croquet is a lawn game whereas crochet is a handiwork. I taught myself to crochet, lefthandedly, as a teenager from a needlework encyclopedia at my aunt's house. Unfortunately she didn't crochet! I was & am hopeless at sewing!
Those specialized car license or just fantastic one for each of you! Wow especially Mary Karl having the one that said pigeon palace and it also in purple how great is that! I think everybody’s color was coated and everything so nice with a nice person to send that to you guys!
I sent the Passion Flower plants. I'm so glad you were able to open it and take care of them before they died. YES Brooke, it's me Dawne from Myrtle Beach!!
I smiled all the way through mail time! Everything is so sweet. The watercolor of Mildred was just lovely as was all the handmade art. Brooke, you should be able to keep your good shirts clean now!
I love how excited and truly grateful for all your gifts. Watching others, how they open and don’t show respect or much thanks to senders, you guys show true joy. Mary Carl is so sweet as well as polite. Every gift is like Christmas!!! You guys are the best.
No doubt that the Cog Hill Family really really appreciates all the wonderful gifts. Ima Survivor Sanctuary Receives LOTS of gifts consisting of food and snacks for their animals. I bet the Smith's would LOVE to receive snacks and food for all of their babies. Anyway, just saying. I know they appreciate everything that everyone sends because they are so kind and caring. Please don't be offended with this. I love love love this family and just want to help them out because animal food is SO very expensive, especially right now. With much love, the North Georgia Neighbor.
Loved watching you open those wonderful gifts. That painting of Mildred is just beautiful and looks just like her. Thanks for making me smile and Brooke ate my popcorn while watching.
Are you kidding me?Brooke we as the Cog squad aren't gonna miss a thing... I've said it before if there isn't a new video or podcast I watch reruns...lol...love y'all so much...
Never thought I would have so much fun watching you open gifts! Jason with the chocolates (hilarious), Brooke with all of her aprons (hilarious) Mary Carl when mom mentioned Mary Carl can share the coffee grinder....Mary Carl "NO! We can't be gettin coffee in the chicken greens." (hilarious) And a shout out to Mary Carl for her GREAT focusing abilities with the camera. Many things close up were not visible unless Mary Carl focused.
I'm sitting here giggling away at the excitement you three have for opening the gifts. When Jason got his Ferrero Roche my boyfriend says no fair lol. They are his favorite. He doesn't know I'm ordering some from Amazon for him. Then I see MaryCarl and Brooke with the Lindt truffles and I gave him that over the glasses look. He knows I best get some for Valentine's Day lol. Lindt makes the best chocolates! Enjoy all of those fun things from the unboxing!
Couldn't agree with you more Deborah -- am rewatching this, Easter has come to an end & I've a special tin with my remaining Lindt mini eggs in. The foil is mounting up!😋
Ya'll are going to need lots of wall space in the new house for all the lovely wall paintings you have received. Also maybe a 10 ft. Christmas tree for all the beautiful ornaments!
Oh, one other thing, I think Brooke was referring to making a sign post for all those street and road signs. Like those at a crossroads where they all point different directions.... that would be a whimsical, fun idea in my opinion!
Yes Brill I'm totally shocked that you haven't had ketchup chips (we call them crisps) as in the UK we have he'd them for about 15 years. I'm not a chip eater but I love them and the only other one I eat are cheese and onion or salt and vinegar. Have yourselves a great day.

Hope you have a great rest of your day.

Blessings to the Cog Hill Farm family!
I sent the Passion Flower plants. I'm so glad you were able to open it and take care of them before they died. YES Brooke, it's me Dawne from Myrtle Beach!!
That quilt is beautiful
That quilt was so beautiful, my mouth just dropped to see that beautiful quilt! Such beautiful colors. Wow!
You guys get the COOLEST gifts! Such thoughtful people! (Flags need a pole, though) Will you have a library in you new home?
Y’all are gonna need a library area, maybe upstairs?
No doubt that the Cog Hill Family really really appreciates all the wonderful gifts. Ima Survivor Sanctuary Receives LOTS of gifts consisting of food and snacks for their animals. I bet the Smith's would LOVE to receive snacks and food for all of their babies. Anyway, just saying. I know they appreciate everything that everyone sends because they are so kind and caring. Please don't be offended with this. I love love love this family and just want to help them out because animal food is SO very expensive, especially right now. With much love, the North Georgia Neighbor.
I think ima has a list of what they want and use. These guys would benefit from the same.
Yes everything is going up 7.5% each month, watch!
The barn worked out great. Thanks for sharing with us all the love you receive through the mail. Frame that poem!
Mary Carl can make her own lavender ice cream now!! Love watching you guys!!
This was a fun mail time! I laughed and laughed.
Loved watching you open those wonderful gifts. That painting of Mildred is just beautiful and looks just like her. Thanks for making me smile and Brooke ate my popcorn while watching.
Those aprons are adorable
Are you kidding me?Brooke we as the Cog squad aren't gonna miss a thing... I've said it before if there isn't a new video or podcast I watch reruns...lol...love y'all so much...
Same here!
I love you bunches and bunches
I hope you never stop doing your mail time. I love who ever sent the Tiny Tim ceramic chicken.
You guys make my day. So happy to see you. From Ontario Canada
Yeah!!!!! Mail Time So glad I get to see it.. First one
You are so loved and respected from all across the world. This says a lot about you.
I agree, they are loved!
The barn was a great idea the sound and visual was awesome.
Oh, one other thing, I think Brooke was referring to making a sign post for all those street and road signs. Like those at a crossroads where they all point different directions.... that would be a whimsical, fun idea in my opinion!
Wow!!! Now that was a quick almost two hours of mail opening of goodies!! So Sweet of everyone sending you LOVE!!
Try the dill pickle flavored ones. My dog will fight you for them. LOL
Must admit I'll be looking at the Lays for the tomato sauce(ketchup) flavour on my next trip to the shops!!
Y'all are good people!! Loved that poem from Canada!
YES I thought that poem was great too! And it's something I would definately frame and hang up in my home.
Beautiful poem ❤️
The poem was my favorite!

Don't forget to share an apron with Mary Carl...lol
I love, love, love the well thought out poem! Truly amazing.
Mary Carl, Cross stich is very relaxing. when you get real good at it, then learn embroidery. the birds in ribbon embroidery are amazing.
I enjoy doing embroidery more than cross stitch, but I get bored easy. But cross stitching is a good place to start for beginning needlepoint. I loved all the patterns she received.
Getting such a kick outta watching Jason eat his candy!! Rofl!!
Yup. I'm watching every minute!!
Hope you didnt get sick!!
I believe those little trays in your mugs were tea bag holders! Loved all the gifts, they were so thoughtful. I really enjoy watching you enjoy them all!
The barn is a perfect location for mail call. Your gifts all have a lot of thought and heart. ❤️ ♥️ 💜 and your fans really love your family and your sanctuary: Cog Hill 40
Thank you for sharing.
Mary Carl fell in love with that snow globe! I enjoyed mail call!!!!
Yeah! I’m so glad y’all got the Cog Hill GA tag! Enjoy the channel. Y’all are so entertaining to watch.
Loved that tag...but I think they need an Ohio State one too...Lol!
That was too cute! 🐮 🚜 🐔 🐷
Those little pieces with your mugs from okie pottery are for tea bags or spoons. I have to buy her pottery. Mary Carl’s rooster is gorgeous. It’s a blast watching y’all open. The art work you’ve received it awesome. And the aprons are great. Hope y’all start to sell aprons. BBQ season right around the corner.
What fun! People are just so thoughtful!
You may need a separate Christmas tree just for all the camper and airstream ornaments 😊🥰
That's what I was thinking, too❤️
You all are catching up with Lester's gifts! Such a blessing people love the family & babies! It would be like a birthday or Christmas to me! Marycarl probably gets so excited for mail time! Thankyou for holding up to camera, nice to see everything. Love the Moody Dr. Sign! Special made! Jason downing those chocolates! Maybe center those Cog Hill plates in your license plate setup. Fun times! 🤗❤🙏
Can see a flag pole at your house with an American flag & Cog Hill 40 flag!!
This was your best one yet. Jason the chocolate lover, me too. LOL Just love watching you guys. MaryCarl your getting prettier everytime I see you. Thanks so much for sharing.
IN CASE of SNAKE BITE! Have one emergency candy every two minutes, as needed.
I like that reasoning! Makes sense to me!
That's to funny!
That was an awesome mail time. I really enjoyed it much I think I could listen to Jason and Brooke all day. Jason you have so much information on veggies, flowers and fruit trees. I love that along with your knowledge of the animals. Mary Carl has so much knowledge about chickens and other birds 🐦 it amazes me how much you can talk about off the top of your head. Hope you have a great rest of your day.
I totally enjoyed today's podcast. Love you guys more everyday
All the gifts are wonderful.
You have such caring viewers.
It's extra fun to watch how excited Jason gets over the various foods that you get. I love how he used the pockets on the apron to put candy in!
Y'all are awesome. Thanks again for taking all that time to share in all of those special gifts. Keep calm and Cog Hill Farm on!!!
That rooster bookend looks like your little white rooster. He's so cute
