Once Mary Carl is done wearing her t-shirts, she may want to make a quilt out of them.
Good Idea! I made my daughter a t-shirt quilt with all her gymnastic t-shirts. It started from 5 years old and went all the way through high school. It has her first gymnastics school t-shirt and included tees from various meets including regional and state meets she competed in.
She loved it and took to college with her and at 38 still has it.
Who can she send them too to have this done 🤣

There are many of us that can make T-shirt quilts. They are wonderful. MaryCarl, start saving your chicken shirts…I am sure you will have plenty to choose from.
I found a pattern for free on the internet to make my daughters. You can also search internet for people who you can pay to make them.
The book that MC got is about a famous pigeon. Cher Ami was a homing pigeon that was used during the war and his story is told in a war museum. Cher Ami is French for Dear Friend.

Mary Carl, you received a book about Cher Ami, who was a real carrier pigeon. The bird was injured in the war and had a prosthetic leg made for it. I believe the bird was stuffed after it died, and is in the Smithsonian Institute. I read a picture book about Cher Ami to my 5th graders when they were studying about WWI.
I saw this comment and I decided to look into the history of Cher Ami, I am going to get that book and read it, I love animals and I love history and this is something I would love to read. 💖📖📚

when Mary Carl returned from taking care of her birds and tried those ketchup potato chips she said she could touch them because her hands weren't clean...and then she opened her mouth and got some and then went in for more and she looked like one of her little birds reaching out for food from it's parent! So cute!

I was thinking the same thing but it makes me so happy for them as they are just so thankful for each and everything.. I see some channel that do this and they aren't even thankful anymore they can't even be bothered to open hw items boxes pile up and not like these guys where they wait for enough to do a video.. I seen others let them pile and pile even long after they have enough to do videos of them its like they just expect it.. but I have to say sometimes people don't consider what these families may have to do with some this stuff that isn't even usable as everyday items... they only have so much roo. Even if they love everything they going run out space sooner then later!!

@@brandip2446 I believe when they get their home finished and the barn finished on the inside, it would be a beautiful place to hang some of these wonderful and artistic treasures. If I were them, I’d finish the barn on the inside walls with some saw milled trees, off their farm, and do a bat n board siding, it’s so easy to do also, and cost effective too, and Jason and Brook can do it!! If y’all go watch the Red Poppy Ranch, Heath does all Bat n board siding even in the chickens coop and the goats birthing areas and it looks so finished and neat. Heath even put the old corrugated tin panels, chair wall height, on the bottom of their home wall outside! I know Jason & Brook should see it as an idea for the inside of the old barn! Have fun dreaming!
Is there a mail call #1 and #2.? Been searching, can't find them. I've seen #3, #4 and #5 several times. Enjoyed them each time as if seeing them for the first time.

What a joyous time for y'all. I had to comment when MC opened the book "Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey." Cher Ami is a very famous carrier pigeon flown in WW I. While completely surrounded the Major and his war torn battalion had one last pigeon to send a message back to command. That pigeon was Cher Ami who survived the gun fire that had taken previous attempts. MC mentioned she wants homing pigeons. Cher Ami was raised and trained by American pigeon fanciers and donated for use in the war.

@@kaseybridges5184 There is a movie, "Lost Batallion," with Rick Schroeder, yes that Rick Schroeder. The movie is primarily about their situation but there is a good scene with Cher Ami. The movie is excellent, well acted although very realistic war footage.
Must check if my cousins, who have been breeding & racing pidgeons for the better part of 40years & recently moved to the Western Cape from Gauteng know about Cher Ami. They would be mighty impressed.

That quilt was so beautiful, my mouth just dropped to see that beautiful quilt! Such beautiful colors. Wow!
Jason is a snacker. LOL. I had to laugh at how much he munched on during this mail time. The paintings are what should be hung in the loft office. The two that have the wood fence will go great together. They looked like they were the same size. Those flash lights would be a great addition to your safe room. Great aprons. Just got to love the cow print and of course the plaid to go with Brooke's jacket. The khaki color one is right up Jason's wardrobe. Great gifts, fun signs, Great snacks, and the quilt that was made is beautiful. Handmade quilts are so incredible. I took a class on quilting but have yet to make one. Well, I can't wait to see the next video of what's been going on at the 40. By the time we see it the plumbing should be almost if not complete for the rough in. It sure is coming along even with the delays. You all are just a great family. You always put a smile on my face. From appreciation of Mildred's next halter to the rain catchers, to the hand painted and drawings of the pets, you can see that every last one is as special as the next....even ketchup flavored chips. Ok until the next one.....ya'all be good.
For the homemade pottery, that little piece is for a used teabag as sometimes you can use twice.

The barn acoustics are good Jason...no need for special sound proof roofing or some kind of sound proof audion panels to enhance the quality of Pink's Barn. Mary Carl is getting more expressive...that is nice to see. I am wearing my Bee Happy tee shirt as I watch y'all at present opening Mail Time. Enjoy the love from us viewers! We love you guys! The sunlight coming through the barn door makes Brooke saint-like with a halo.

I'm sitting here giggling away at the excitement you three have for opening the gifts. When Jason got his Ferrero Roche my boyfriend says no fair lol. They are his favorite. He doesn't know I'm ordering some from Amazon for him. Then I see MaryCarl and Brooke with the Lindt truffles and I gave him that over the glasses look. He knows I best get some for Valentine's Day lol. Lindt makes the best chocolates! Enjoy all of those fun things from the unboxing!

Well we know how to make Jason happy...Chocolate! Love the quilt. Both my parents pieced and made quilts by hand. My Dad's stitches were perfectly spaced...better than my mother's quilting. Every winter they set up the frames after Christmas in their sitting room and would make 2 quilts. Spring and summer was for gardening. So Jason you can learn to quilt...In your spare time...maybe when you retire(that's when my Dad started. He also learned to croquet from my grandma too.) Loved all the nice artwork your fans sent you too. I've seen those chips before, but mostly in Canada. I'm like Brooke not much of a chip eater, but I love those Coconut chocolates too.
The Barn turned out to be a great place to film this. I never heard any background sound, etc. Just put you a folding table in there to set your stuff on and then you will be all set for next time. I enjoyed seeing you all today opening your lovely gifts.
Croquet or crochet?Croquet is a lawn game whereas crochet is a handiwork. I taught myself to crochet, lefthandedly, as a teenager from a needlework encyclopedia at my aunt's house. Unfortunately she didn't crochet! I was & am hopeless at sewing!

I think she got really cold when they did it outside of the camper. Jason has talked about how the wind makes it really colder up in that area. Everyone seemed to be warm and out of the elements which made for a better opening.
Yes Brill I'm totally shocked that you haven't had ketchup chips (we call them crisps) as in the UK we have he'd them for about 15 years. I'm not a chip eater but I love them and the only other one I eat are cheese and onion or salt and vinegar.

Mary Carl, Cross stich is very relaxing. when you get real good at it, then learn embroidery. the birds in ribbon embroidery are amazing.
I enjoy doing embroidery more than cross stitch, but I get bored easy. But cross stitching is a good place to start for beginning needlepoint. I loved all the patterns she received.
