I'd LOVE to hear what it does to electric piano (Rhodes, Wurlitzer). Is that any chance that you posted some sound examples/video of that pedal effecting keyboard sound?
VERY interesting Rich - thank you! This is more my thing and I could be mad but I was kind of expecting to see ElectroHarmonix written on the pedal after listening to it! It sounds great IMHO - almost... unstable if that makes sense? Really interesting and really well demonstrated - thank you sir!
I find that most Boss pedals make your sound smaller, with few exceptions (such as the TR-2 trem). For example, my MXR Phase 90 sounds better than my Boss PH-3 phaser, my E-H NeoClone sounds better than my Boss CE-5 chorus, and my E-H MemoryMan sounds better than my Boss DD-7 delay. What I often find with the small Boss stompboxes is that you get more sonic versatility but worse sound than other comparable stompboxes.
That's your point of view. For thousands of metal guitarists, this pedal will be much more useful than another Overdrive or another acoutic simulator. Anyway, we are now entering the age of extreme pedals, and that's great. Isn't it useless to make, over and over, the same pedals ? We allready have all the others.
Best Old school pedal = Boss Digital Space DC-3 insane chorus...! Best Boss New School Pedal=Boss Powerstack ST-2 very acurate Marshall modelling imo check them get them both with a Boss DD-7 Delay and you have a great rock set up....thats a great start if you Rawk Out...!
Use it dirty, you'll play hell on yourself hearing every nuance in an SS pedal. I know what you're saying, but I hear the distinct difference too. Toss this in with a side of muff π and that would be incredible!
Yes, I know - I have read my Ecclesiastes and a few Hendrix biographies. I don't have a dog in this fight, I was just trying to clarify weaselsuit's comment for you.
Clearly you should be the CEO of Boss 🤦🏻♂️ Maybe you could oversee the manufacture of all pedal brands worldwide. At least that way nobody would have to read your facile UA-cam comments again.
I believe you can only do a thing at a time with a ps6, this pedal does multiple pitch shitfs and a detune at once, in just one pedal. I think for this particular sound, i would rather get the mo2, but if you are looking for just a pitch shifter a ps6 is surely better
This reminds me of a cross between the MXR Bluebox and the Electro Harmonix POG. Boss must be losing market share to those guys to start imitating their products.
Won't it make all those that use it sound the same? I've nothing against technology but I've yet to hear modern modeling pedals sound great. They may sound ok at first but after a short time my ears get tired of the sterile noise. All I hear in the MO-2 is a Pitch Shifter without the bells and whistles! One question I have to ask and that is, will boss ever make an analog classic again? :(
It's a boring old pitch shifter. Even down to the digital pitch shifting artifacts audible on clean sound. Not impressed Boss. Nice demo though. Thanks.
jeez bro, your explanation makes absolutely no sense. Just PLAY and let us hear what it does.... STILL waiting. boa, bla... yea we know what yer gunna do... finally
blah, blah new technology blah blah POG/ring modulator/octave/detune (sorry, I mean OVERTONE)... smells like a one trick pony to me! Or you could just hire a good Hammond player! And reviewed by a meandering and aimless Proclaimer! Yum...
Man; all three of Boss' new pedals seem useless - like they took the most useless settings from every and any multi-effects pedals out there and boxed them separately.
Nice demo and Rock Astley outfit. I am never gonna give you up
We;d love to, but we had to get these done very quickly before we all head off to NAMM later today. If we get a chance when we get back, will do!
I tried it out on my bass and it sounded pretty cool

This seems a lot like the Pitch Shifter/Delay pedal they put out, just without the delay.
VERY interesting Rich - thank you! This is more my thing and I could be mad but I was kind of expecting to see ElectroHarmonix written on the pedal after listening to it!

the second setting (the clean one) is really musical
i think if you PANNING or bit tremor would unique on octaver4 nice work!
I think that he's referring to EH's POG and/or HOG.

Add some "rotary'" and it gives a pretty good organ sound - that's how I use it.
what is the "oh so famous chord sequence" at 5:55 ?? i can't recognize it
Darude Sandstorm
Would it work on bass?
You're right, Jimi Hendrix would never have thought to do such a thing !...
Use it dirty, you'll play hell on yourself hearing every nuance in an SS pedal.

I am confused, so this isn't another octave pedal?
Yes, I know - I have read my Ecclesiastes and a few Hendrix biographies. I don't have a dog in this fight, I was just trying to clarify weaselsuit's comment for you.
MMMMM. A pitchshifter or an octave pedal can do this!
Clearly you should be the CEO of Boss 🤦🏻♂️

@ Wow! Bee in bonnet right there! 🐝
Post a denim review next.
When you start playing at about 7:30 it sounds like a devi ever shoegazer.
BRMC are awesome :)
Wow, it does everything the Boss PS-6 does, and LESS

Stop embarrassing yourself, ffs.
Another duIIard who thinks he could do a better job at running one of the most successful global brands. Okay pal.
The first riff sound is really fat but with no 'tracking' like a typical octave pedal?
Check out the demo on BOSSchannel if you just want to hear it.
Which EH pedals are ripped-off here ?
It's all part of my rock 'n' roll fantasy!
Mode 3 sounds like mixing a micro pog and a chorus. It's cool, but I personally wouldn't have a use for it.
this is what i need'
This reminds me of a cross between the MXR Bluebox and the Electro Harmonix POG. Boss must be losing market share to those guys to start imitating their products.
I think the guitar distorted sound hid (and messed) the beautiful tones of MO-2.
do vocals too!
Even the insults are twee and retro, I like it.
Mini-MINI POG... it's a pog with a lot less features, I think. ;-)
And Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood will be buying one in 3..2..now.
Yeah I didn't see the need for this one. I assumed the PS-5 and PS-6 were capable of this,
3:20 OMG INSTANT NUIT NOIRE TOAN.
tl,dr
It's a bit like a pog.
no worries.
2:21 oooh, that's why there's weird phasing.
Reminds me of the POO or the Mini-POO
POG?
MH5tube A joke, I have made :)
It would be cool, but it sounds too grainy or digital to me.
Oh, yes. Thank you.
POG 2!
I agree that distortion and pitch shifting don't go well together at all.
I would have liked to hear only the MO-2 without distortion.
Oh my god Ryan Gosling playing the guitar!.. XD
Sounds like some offerings from Electro Harmonix.
Boss mini POG

Kinda sounds like a POG
Did I miss the MO-1?
Sounds like the pog to me
OK, but there is nothing very new. In 1967, Roger Mayer Octavia was already starting to produce these kind of sounds.
boss ps-5 or ps-6 can do the same things and even more
Yes, hiring a good Hammond player would be MUCH more practical.
hey look, radio head created this sound before boss made the pedal... haha ----> ?v=iDhV5OTsnzY
Interesting pedal but I can't seem to dig the sound. I'd rather take a Micro POG for detune or an Earthquaker Devices Organizer for an organ sound.
Taylor\,,/
sounds a bit weak and odd to me
My Boss PS-3 is way more beautiful and versatile.
lol.. touchez :)
Boss, ripping off EH. Who would have ever thunk it??
Sounds like crap to me.
Hmmm, wont be buying this anytime soon...
It's a boring old pitch shifter. Even down to the digital pitch shifting artifacts audible on clean sound.
Not impressed Boss.
Nice demo though. Thanks.
jeez bro, your explanation makes absolutely no sense. Just PLAY and let us hear what it does.... STILL waiting. boa, bla... yea we know what yer gunna do... finally
I agree, all three of the new pedals look rubbish!
OMG Boss made a shitty version of the POG
Im not impress of these 3 new pedals by Boss.
blah, blah new technology blah blah POG/ring modulator/octave/detune (sorry, I mean OVERTONE)... smells like a one trick pony to me! Or you could just hire a good Hammond player! And reviewed by a meandering and aimless Proclaimer! Yum...
blablabla - snippet - blablabla
Couldn't agree more with everything you just said.
go - and buy a synth...
modulate this guy out of here and get somebody from the south
sounds way to digital
I'm definitely not impressed.
OMG this guy talks so fucking much! but yea, they just copying EHX stuff.
Honestly... who has use for these type of tones? BOSS sucks these days.
stop talking!!! and keep playing!!!
Boss is so boring.
Hmm. I'm curious now too... And he got two thumbs ups, so, he must be onto something, but what?
Man; all three of Boss' new pedals seem useless - like they took the most useless settings from every and any multi-effects pedals out there and boxed them separately.
