Hi. I'm Ken Whiteman from HitchSource.com. Today we're going to be reviewing the Softride QuietRide ball mount series. The Softride QuietRide ball mount series is a great product that's designed to eliminate one of the most common problems with ball mounts, which is the clanking and banging that you hear when you start and stop the vehicle or when you take turns. This ball mount is designed to rigidly mount the ball mount inside of your hitch to eliminate the play and make it a much more solid system. The Softride ball mounts come in not only the 2", but 4" and also 6" drop versions that can be used in either the drop or rise orientation so it is a really versatile mount. The aluminum version has a 1 1/4" ball shank opening and also includes an adapter that can get you down to a standard 1" opening. The steel version comes in just a standard 1" opening. Some of the things that are unique about this product are the locking hitch pin with a 2 key system that allows you to easily take the ball mount in and out of your receiver hitch. It comes with a threaded hitch pin so you can see there are threads on the end of the pin. It goes in through your receiver hitch and you use a wrench to tighten it down. That's what gives it the rigidity inside the hitch system. It has got this sliding tensioner here on the side of the mount, so it not only tightens against the side of the hitch, but it also tightens against the top of the hitch so it gives you a really rigid system in all the different directions. It is capable of towing trailers of up to 10,000 lbs with a tongue weight of up to 1000 lbs so it is a full class IV rating. It comes with a locking hitch pin that comes with its own weather protection so you don't have to worry about it getting corroded, or rusting over time. It's really a great system. This is the one I personally use to tow my drift boat and I can tell you it makes a really big difference in terms of even just driving down the road, you feel like the trailer is rigidly attached to your car. When you look at the overall cost when you include the locking hitch pin as well as the ball mount itself, you'll find that it is a really competitively priced product.
